As a relationship reaches its tipping point both sides of the party are left with a difficult choice that neither particularly wants to make but knows that their happiness will depend on. The complexity of this choice creates an inner turmoil that is hard to explain, thoughts rush around your head like a cyclone and you feel as if the weight of the world is on your shoulders, at least that’s what Sofia Lafuente felt when she went through this turbulent time in her life. She’s always used music as a form of escapism and it becomes apparent within her debut Here Again where she bares her soul to us all.

The cinematic production has sense of grandeur to it as the dramatic drums amplify the brooding atmosphere before the hauntingly beautiful tone of her vocal pierces through it all in an ethereal veil of light that captures the heart wrenching emotion experienced during this period of her life. The ghostly and darkly toned music video expertly compliments the sonic experience and turns this track into a treat for the ears and the eyes.

Speaking about the track Lafuente said, “Here Again is the darkest of the songs in my mind both sonically and thematically. Working with Alex E (Blinkie, Bugzy Malone) on the production we wanted to create textures and moments in the song where it really felt like you were going through some sort of epic emotional energy. I wanted to capture the highs and lows that relationships can bring and how they can really push you to be confronted with bigger questions like what’s important to you, what you need and who you are. These are all pretty existential questions and we wanted the drama of the production to reflect this.”
