A few weeks ago we praised the 20 year old Swedish musician Sam Ezeh for his experimental soundscape with his debut single Crisis that took influence from legends like Prince, contemporary icons like Childish Gambino and fusing it together with 60’s psychedelia and a 70’s soul funk vibe. Although it was just his first track it easily cemented him as an artist to keep an eye on with his flourishing production style already making him a popular name in Sweden’s underground scene it’s no surprise that his debut took off in the best possible way and his follow up looks likely to build upon that success.
Bonsai Love is a sweet track with the overall message of the track focusing on looking at the world around you through a less pessimistic lens and realising that it’s not healthy to expect the worse from everything that surround you. Rhythmic guitar melodies lead the production with subtle synth beat emphasising their funk nature further as his variegated vocal croons the optimistic lyricisms about a brighter tomorrow. Sam Ezeh continues to thrive and looks to be one of the best finds of 2020.
