With vibrant flamboyancy and the ability to channel rock gods of old like Freddie Mercury it’s no surprise that Baby FuzZ has left people in awe and bewildered by his sound that has been described as the musical equivalent of an animated nuclear meltdown at Sea World. However what makes Baby FuzZ so fascinating, apart from his compelling lyrical storytelling, is his reckless abandonment of genres as he throws caution to the wind by taking glam rock, folk, indie pop, hip hop, emo and melts them altogether in a cauldron of euphonic glory. It’s equal part genius and psychotic mayhem.
His Welcome To The Future (Season 1) EP recently came out but the stand out track of the whole affair is I’m Trying My Freakin Best with the quirkily magical opening and an over the top guitar solo that feels like it’s come straight out of a Queen song with the vocal presence to match. It’s a bizarre performance art piece with hyperaware lyrics that still contain his signature satirical edge as he details a musician attempting to reconcile failure with effort. It’s a uniquely fascinating single that will leave you mesmerised and asking more questions than you got answered.
