3. Trey Anastasio – Atriums

Source:Trey Anastasio

Trey Anastasio, the accomplished guitarist, singer and songwriter of Phish, today announces ATRIUMS – a suite of instrumental guitar compositions originally conceived and recorded for Phish’s groundbreaking four-night April run at Sphere – set for release on streaming services and the LivePhish app this Friday, September 20 via Rubber Jungle Records.

Among the many unique features of Sphere’s one-of-a-kind environment is the ability to program its atrium and public spaces. Anastasio and Phish – renowned for creating immersive concert experiences – took full advantage, utilizing sculpture, light and sound to transform the hallways of the futuristic venue. Those ambient soundscapes are now released as ATRIUMS.

The six-part ATRIUMS song suite was born out of years of experimentation at Trey’s soundchecks, where he explores the capabilities of his ever-expanding palate of effects. With ATRIUMS, Anastasio has created atmospheric compositions awash with droning loops, echoes, and waves of tonal feedback layered with gentle, melodic fretwork. Each of the six ATRIUMS compositions takes on a unique sonic hue, but together immerse the listener in a cohesive, expansive whole.

Proceeds from ATRIUMS will benefit the Divided Sky Foundation, a 501c(3) non-profit organization dedicated to addiction recovery, and the Divided Sky Residential Recovery Program, the newly opened facility in Ludlow, Vermont offering a non-clinical program anchored in the 12 Steps, emotional sobriety, and mindfulness. 4. Quavo, Ty Dolla $ign & ARE WE DREAMING – If I Fall

Source:Quavo Huncho

Quavo, Ty Dolla $ign, and ARE WE DREAMING (Composer – Brian Tyler) – roll out the official music video for their resilient anthem, “If I Fall,” for Paramount Animation and Hasbro Entertainment’s upcoming motion picture TRANSFORMERS ONE – watch HERE.

Directed by Brian Tyler (ARE WE DREAMING) and DJ Furth, the epic video for “If I Fall” features a dynamic visual aesthetic with red and blue laser themes that reflect the intense juxtaposition between Optimus Prime and Megatron. Quavo, Ty Dolla $ign, and ARE WE DREAMING (chorus vocals) build up the tension as they passionately deliver their verses while clips from TRANSFORMERS ONE are shown on the background screens and integrated throughout the video, serving as a backdrop to the impending fallout between the two characters. Complete with drum solos from ARE WE DREAMING, the visual perfectly encapsulates the emotional weight and energy of the track.

About the video, Tyler said, “It was so dope getting to work with legends Quavo and Ty Dolla who both killed it in the video for “If I Fall”, which has a sick sci-fi feel that brings you into the world of Transformers. The sets were epic, it felt like we were on Cybertron.”

Tyler also edited the video alongside Elizabeth Saltzman. “It’s kind of crazy directing your own music video when you are also singing on it, playing the drums, editing the cut, and creating the visual effects. Being so integrated in the entire process has been insane but amazing,” Tyler gushed. “This video is actually the first of its kind for my upcoming audio-visual project Are We Dreaming, which I direct and create all the visuals for, as well as produce the music which spans many genres but is primarily centered around bass music and hip hop. So hype for the world to see what we’ve cooked up!”

Released earlier this month with much love from the likes of Rolling Stone, UPROXX, XXL Magazine, Film Music Reporter, VIBE, and more, “If I Fall” is set to be featured as the End Title track for TRANSFORMERS ONE. Tyler also serves as the film composer for the film’s original score which is available for pre-order HERE.

With an ensemble voice cast including Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry, Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi, with Laurence Fishburne and Jon Hamm, TRANSFORMERS ONE debuts exclusively in theaters this Friday, September 20.

Stay tuned for much more from Quavo, Ty Dolla $ign, and especially from ARE WE DREAMING!

7. KAIRO – Special/Break Bread

Source:KAIRO

Emerging Nigerian-born, Texas-raised, twin brothers KAIRO share new 2-pack, “SPECIAL” and “BREAK BREAD” out now via Def Jam Recordings. Listen HERE. The two new singles and previously released song and video for “BRAND NEW” serve as a preview of forthcoming debut album Are We There Yet? set to release November 13th.

Growing up performing in their father’s church in Houston, brothers EJ and AK reminisce on “BREAK BREAD” of going to church on Sunday and the family meals afterwards and any romantic partner would have to treasure these moments: “If we can break bread on Sunday, I’ll tell you I love you on Monday morning.”

“SPECIAL” dives into the raw truth of a toxic relationship from EJ’s perspective where deceit overshadowed everything. He recalls, “This record serves as a reminder of our inherent self-worth and is an emotional core of our album, inviting our listeners to have a deeper peek into our personal journeys.”

For the global pop duo KAIRO, which means ‘the right time,’ composed of identical twin brothers Ak and Ej, their moment is now. The brothers born in Lagos, Nigeria and moved to the United States at 16 months through an unexpected visa lottery. They grew up performing in their father’s church in Houston with Ak on drums, Ej on piano and both singing. And like many first-generation kids, they experienced the duality of balancing their cultural heritage with that of their new home. Nowhere was that more apparent than in their musical tastes. The brothers named themselves KAIRO—a combination of their first names—in 2021 and released acoustic covers on TikTok. Their debut EP Love Letters from Houston helped to differentiated themselves from stereotypical TikTok artists by focusing on songwriting and cultivating high-energy live shows. Their debut album Are We There Yet?, coming in Novemberrepresents the next generation of Gen-Z pop groups with rich melodies, lush vocal textures and emotional songwriting. As young Black men and immigrants, KAIRO are aware of their unique position in the music industry. They want to represent expansion: from genre, borders and boundaries.

“Don Rep” showcases Jelly’s knack for delivering tight, musically engaging cadences with his trademark smile, turning every bar into an earworm. The track’s beat, paired with its repetitive and catchy chorus, guarantees it will stick with listeners long after the first listen.

Already a familiar name in the scene, Jelly has garnered attention with his standout performances, including opening for Pi’erre Bourne on tour. With co-signs and features on platforms like On The RadarDGB Media, and From The Block, Jelly is paving the way for his highly anticipated 2024 project.

9. YOLA – Future Enemies

Source:Yola

Today, Yola releases her new single “Future Enemies,” her first new music release in 3 years, and a sonic shift for the groundbreaking artist. This is the first single from her forthcoming EP My Way, set for release November 15 via S-Curve Records, her new recording home, marking the beginning of a new era for the six-time GRAMMY nominated artist.

“Future Enemies” showcases Yola’s undeniable vocals and is a unique “anthem for acquaintances” – about that split second of early insight, knowing someone may just well become an enemy, and ducking out of the relationship before it even begins.

Layering programming and synths with organic instrumentation, she combines progressive R&B and haunting electronica into thoughtful dance floor ready synth pop.  Produced by Yola, Grammy Award-winning producer Sean Douglas (Lizzo, Chris Brown, Madonna, Selena Gomez, and Sia), and producer Zach Skelton (Lil Nas X, John Legend, Paul McCartney) this debut single from the forthcoming EP marks a new direction, yet a return to Yola’s musical roots, referencing UK’s Broken Beat scene, R&B, electronica and more.

Says Yola about the track, “There is a moment when you realise you’re not going to get on with someone. They haven’t noticed yet, so you have a unique opportunity to disappear from their lives before they ever realise you were destined to be enemies. It’s a luxury to not have an endless supply of negative memories about someone cause you never made them. “Why don’t we just not!” I choose to save my time for situations, spaces and people that have no ticking timer of inevitable doom, because they don’t see me or centre a reality that does not serve me or my wellbeing. Of course when you’re a woman, culturally black (as well as physically black), dark skinned (and feminine in energy), plus size (and wilfully main character in energy), from a whole different continent and living in the west- let’s say you’re going to have to be both vigilant and choosy in life, in love in work. Oh and if you also want to be real, girl!!”

The new EP, intentionally titled My Way, as a nod to her unique genre-fluid ethos, draws from a range of Yola’s influences that include progressive RnB, 70-80s soulful pop, 90s R&B and neo soul, as well as the cornerstone influence of the UK broken beats scene, from which Yola emerged, performing with Bugz In The Attic in the mid 2000s.

Broken Beat, Bruk or The West London sound, was a dance music movement who’s pioneers included IG Culture, Phil Asher, 4Hero, Gilles Peterson and collective Bugz in the Attic, who’s members included, Orin Walters (Afronaut), Paul Dolby (Seiji), Kaidi Tatham, Daz-I-Kue, Alex Phountzi (Neon Phusion), Cliff Scott, Mark Force and Matt Lord, and Hannah Vasanth who Yola collaborated on her critically acclaimed album, Stand For Myself.

My Way showcases her powerhouse vocals which soulfully explore themes including relationship boundaries, creative autonomy, and even diving into political commentary, exploring the Windrush movement and the diasporic British subculture from which Yola draws inspiration.

Says Yola about My Way, “I’ve been purposefully hinting about this direction for years. From covering Soul II Soul for Apple Music, to my covers on tour and reworkings of my songs, the broad church of soul music through the ages has always been the narrative. I’ve covered Yarborough and Peoples’s “Don’t Stop The Music” as a throwback nod to my time in the west London “Broken Beat” scene with collective Bugz In The Attic (we used to cover that song).

This time I’m exploring my love of soul music through influences like Chaka Khan, Janet Jackson, Sade, Prince, Minnie Riperton and various luminaries of rare groove and progressive RnB . Layering programming and synths with organic instrumentation is at the core of the sonic landscape, and as usual I have metabolised these elements into a concoction very much of my own.”

“For the past few years, Yola has been one of my favorite contemporary artists,” stated Steven Greenberg Founder/CEO of  S-Curve Records, adding, “So, when I learned she’d fulfilled her previous recording commitments, we jumped at the opportunity to sign her to S-Curve. The music she’s been recording for this new project is classic Yola, yet she expands her musical palette by incorporating funk and late 80’s R&B influences in a very natural way. It’s an exciting evolution and I think her new music will delight Yola’s long-time fans, while simultaneously bringing lots of new listeners into the fold.  We’re ready to do everything we can to help Yola build this next phase of her career.”

10. Amaria – Finer Things

Source:Amaria

Today, singer-songwriter and producer Amaria announces her forthcoming debut album Free Fallin’ due October 11th. Accompanying the news, Amaria shares the latest taste of the album with new single “Finer Things,” showcasing her lush vocals and the collision of ‘90s R&B and contemporary neo-soul that embodies her sound. On “Finer Things” Amaria maintains an unhurried prose with a production style that reimagines elements from those early 90’s visionaries like Aaliyah and Janet Jackson. The single is imbued with sensual lyrics and trance-inducing background vocals that showcase a more self-realized and mature musical undertaking.

Free Fallin’ also includes Amaria’s previously-released singles “Beggin” and “Back to Me,” which both demonstrate her knowledge as a student of the genre in equal measure. Across her debut album, Amaria mines auras and attitudes from distinct eras throughout R&B’s celebrated history and spins them into a contemporary study of the genre that feels timeless.

“The main theme of the album, represented by the name, is the idea of going through different life experiences with no safety net,” Amaria says of the concept behind the album. “Letting life take you whichever way it wants — essentially ‘free falling.’”

Amaria has a modern sound that builds on the understated, engrossing aspects of neo-soul, as mastered by the likes of Erykah Badu and Sade. The Tampa native, now based in LA, made her debut on New Year’s Day 2020 with her self-produced single “Morning,” a daring first step from the then-teenage singer. The single was followed by a steady flow of singles and collaborations, along with 2021 EP Bittersweet, and 2022’s All For You EP. Having toured with notable contemporary alternative R&B artists like UMI, Mac Ayers and Destin Conrad (with whom she collaborated on her EP track “All For You” and joined on a 30+ tour run earlier this year), Amaria successfully sold out her first-ever headline show last November in Los Angeles. Her two early EPs have received praise from Billboard, NPR, Vogue, and COLORS, among others.

Pre-save Free Fallin’ and listen to “Finer Things” above, and stay tuned for more from Amaria coming very soon.

11. Bad Bena – Holy Triad

Source:Bad Bena

BAD BENA, the rising star hailing from the vibrant St. Ann in Jamaica, has released her most personal and powerful work to date with her new single, ‘HOLY TRIAD’. The soul-stirring dancehall and trap fusion track is a raw and honest exploration of the emotional and spiritual challenges that come with leaving home and forging a new path in a foreign land. As Bad Bena puts it, ‘Holy Triad’ is a “deeply personal cry for help, and a plea to the Most High for protection from the surrounding darkness” that captures the overwhelming realities of being an immigrant in London, and encapsulates for Bena, the journey from St. Ann to the UK, which brought with it a harsh culture shock, profound loneliness, and the weight of trying to survive in a city that often feels like it’s swallowing you whole.

Produced by burgeoning Saint Lucia beatsmith SnipeZ, and engineered by Hot Money (Stormzy, Central Cee, Stefflon Don), ‘Holy Triad’ is driven by a resonant dancehall-trap soundscape that provides the perfect backdrop for Bad Bena to pour out her soul on the track. Bena’s lyrics capture the pain of losing loved ones, the isolation of being far from home, and the relentless fight for a better future – not just for herself, but for her family back in Jamaica. “This song is a soul-wrenching cry from the depths of despair,” Bena explains. “When it feels like I’m utterly lost, with nothing left and no one to turn to, I turn to the Most High, the ‘Holy Triad’.” The result is a track that resonates with anyone who has ever battled against the odds, clinging to hope and faith in the face of overwhelming adversity.

Holy Triad’ is accompanied by a visually compelling video directed by British Iranian filmmaker Bdot, known for his work for the likes of Giggs, Clavish, and Popcaan. Filmed in the heart of London, the video is a powerful visual metaphor for spiritual renewal and resilience, as it captures Bad Bena’s journey through the cold, unforgiving streets of the capital city, ultimately finding solace and strength within the walls of a church. Reflecting on how the video depicts her own journey from despair to empowerment, Bena describes the video as offering a “story of faith, growth, and transformation”. Serving as a foundation in Bad Bena’s musical story, ‘Holy Triad’ is an anthem of faith, resilience, and survival that speaks to the heart of anyone who has ever faced the darkness and fought to find the light.

12. State Champs – Light Blue

Source:StateChampsNY

Today, Albany-raised pop-punk band State Champs released their new single, “Light Blue,” off their upcoming self-titled record to be released on November 8 via Pure Noise Records. This is the third single off the album, coming just after the band released two others last month, including “Too Late To Say” and “Silver Cloud,” both of which had accompanying music videos.

The band shared their thoughts on the latest track below:

“Have you ever been transported back in time, for better or for worse, simply by the smell of something or someone? Inspired by Dan & Shay’s “Tequila,” we put our energetic spin on this concept with “Light Blue.” It’s a light-hearted track that reminiscences and rollercoasters between airy, bouncy guitars and pop arrangements to a full-blown fuzzed-out chorus that will have you banging your head in between memories you didn’t ask to be dug back up.”

State Champs will be heading out on a tour this fall across North America. Supporting them on this tour are Knuckle Puck, Meet Me at The Altar, and Daisy Grenade. They will be making stops from coast to coast, kicking off on November 8 in Austin, Texas, and visiting major cities, including Phoenix, Anaheim, Salt Lake City, Denver, Cleveland, Nashville, Orlando, Boston, Philadelphia, and Toronto, among others. They will wrap up the tour on December 7 in New York City. Tickets are on sale now at: https://statechamps.band/pages/tour.

Nearly 15 years after the band’s formation, lead singer Derek DiScanio, bassist Ryan Scott Graham, guitarist Tyler Szalkowski, and drummer Evan Ambrosio found themselves at different points in their personal lives—marriage, kids, and relocations across the country made for a new kind of relationship dynamic. Produced by Anton DeLost (Mayday Parade, Hawthorne Heights), State Champs will showcase some of the best edgy, high-energy tracks that have defined their career thus far, making it the exact right time to debut their self-titled album.

Over the course of their career, State Champs has received accolades from the likes of Rolling Stone, MTV, Kerrang!, Upset, Alternative Press, and Rock Sound, among others. Their sophomore album, Around the World and Back, entered the Billboard Current Rock Albums chart at No. 3 and made Rock Sound’s Top 10 Albums of the Year. Living Proof followed in 2018, and that same year Billboard called them “modern-day pop-punk torchbearers.” The band has also collaborated with some of pop-punk’s heaviest hitters, co-writing songs with Alex Gaskarth of All Time Low and Mark Hoppus from Blink-182 on their latest album Kings of the New Age.

Rolling Stone spoke with the band exclusively on their record this summer and shared they are “channeling their definitive mix of punchy punk rhythms and irresistible pop hooks in the new tracks.” On State Champs, they cement themselves as an outfit that can and will stand the test of time.

“The lyrics to “MURDERER” draw attention to the thousands of innocent Palestinian people being killed every day. It is a call for support and reaction to the current situation happening there,” says front man Jason Butler.

Consisting of fourteen tracks, ‘’DARKER WHITE” is the intersection we will all find ourselves in at some point in our lives,” says Aalon on the theme of the new album. “It is the struggle we will inevitably face when identifying our metric for good or bad. Wrong or right. Dark and light. All based on our environment, social construction and cultural/psychological conditioning. It is the eagle-eyed observation of said intersection and the removing the shame after realizing we all experience it and it is up to us to find use of this taboo so it can be offered to the world as a beautiful story, piece of wisdom or a perspective that ironically changes your life for the better. “DARKER WHITE” is a sonic and social experience.”

“MURDERER” and “NOSEBLEEDS”, the new singles out today follow the release of the previously released songs and music videos for “NEW WEST ORDER” and “HIGHER POWER”, “NO HOSTAGES” and “DESERT RAP”.

23. Rome Streetz & Daringer ft. ScHoolboy Q – Sage

Source:Rome Streetz

Internet A&R’s, your prayers have been answered!  Rome Streetz and Daringer are joining forces for the highly anticipated collaborative project, Hatton Garden Holdup, which will be released on 10.4.24.

The duo announced their alignment with the project’s first single and video “Starbvxkz.”  The single, and video shot by Coach Bombay in the White City housing projects of West London made an immediate impact.  Billboard stated “Rome raps like a box cutter to grill over Daringer’s production,” and Uproxx added, “you know what you’re getting with Griselda affiliates, gritty; double-entendre riddled street raps over some of the grimiest production you’re likely to hear in modern hip-hop.”

Now, Rome and Darimger are back with the second single from Hatton Garden Holdup, “Sage,” which features Schoolboy Q.  This Griselda/TDE connection can also be attributed to the strength of the internet, as Rome confirms “Q is one of my favorite artists.  “Sage” came about because I did an interview and mentioned I would love to work with him.  Q saw the clip on X, hit me up and we made it happen.”  With “Sage,” Rome and Q burn the “Sage” as they try to keep evil away; and continue “turning grief into gold.”  “Sage” is now available at all DSP’s.

Hatton Garden Holdup is a project that has been anticipated since Rome and Daringer connected on Rome’s Griselda Records debut album Kiss The Ring.  Though they have moved adjacently since the union has finally come to fruition, and Rome & Daringer deliver a project that is both raw and refined and pushes the envelope in terms of both sound and storytelling; blending street tales with production that is always captivating.

Rome Streetz is fresh off his quick-strike project, Buck 50, which he released earlier this year and the final installment of his ambitious Noise Kandy Series, Noise Kandy 5 which was released in late 2023.

For the better part of a decade, Daringer has created a distinctive sonic landscape that has become synonymous with the “Griselda Sound.” Known for his ability to craft everything from dark, gritty canvases to more melodic, jazz-infused productions, Daringer’s influence has been felt across nearly every release from the Griselda camp, including Westside Gunn, Benny The Butcher, and Conway The Machine.  Daringer has also added his unique touch to projects from Action Bronson; Blue ChipsWhite BroncoOnly For DolphinsCocodrillo Turbo, and Johann Sebastian Bachlava The Doctor with Action Bronson, and he recently produced the entirety of Black Vladimir, a collaborative project with another of his “Fu*k That’s Delicious” cohorts Meyhem Lauren.

Rome & Daringer recently performed an exclusive album concert for Hatton Garden Holdup in NYC and will also hold an exclusive album concert event in LA on 9.24.24 at the Teragram Ballroom.   Tickets are now on sale for the LA event.

Rome Streetz & Daringer’s Hatton Garden Holdup will be released on 10.4.24 Via Roc Nation Distribution.

24. Blu & Exile – Love (the) Ominous World

Source:Blu – Topic

With the release of Love (the) Ominous World, Blu & Exile have returned with an album that brilliantly builds on their soulful, reflective foundation with stunning musicality and sharp songwriting.  Their shared history as one of hip-hop’s best duos continues to grow, especially as they venture into new territory while embracing and refining what made them special.

Love (the) Ominous World is a defining moment for Blu & Exile.  “This album is our most unique work to date,” Blu says.  “We took a different approach with the direction, while still staying true to the culture our music has built with our fan base.”  That direction is one that finds the two California natives crafting records that would sound right at home on the radio and hip-hop charts. Like “Suga & Butta,” for example, which features recent Def Jam signee Rae Khalil, and rising star Ahmad Anwar.  Every element of the track is as sweet and smooth as its namesake, from the lyrics to the production. There’s also the raw G-funk banger “Chucks,” a snarling collaboration with West Coast stalwarts KXNG Crooked and Kurupt.

Love (the) Ominous World is equally as potent when Blu & Exile find their groove venturing into other territory as well. “Suge,” which Ex talked his collaborator into recording, is a thrilling retelling of Blu’s meeting with the infamous co-founder of Death Row Records.  On “Undisputed,” the duo showcases their respective talents as Blu blacks out over Ex’s scratches and beat-switching production.  And of course, there’s the album’s lead single, the jaw-dropping “Love Is Blu” with longtime collaborator Aloe Blacc.  For Blu & Ex, hearing the final version of this was a moment.

“It was the feeling you imagine you’d want to feel after working so hard on something, to make it all worth it, at least for just that moment,” Exile says. “But that’s all we needed to feel, to know we were done.”

Blu & Exile’s Love (the) Ominous World Is produced in its entirety by Exile and features appearances from Aloe Blacc, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Kurupt, KXNG Crooked, RBX,  Fashawn, Rae Khalil & Ahmad Anwar amongst others.

Blu & Exile’s Love (the) Ominous World is now available at all DSP’s.  Love (the) Ominous World can also be purchased on CD, cassette, and vinyl in multiple color configurations, exclusively through DirtyScienceRecords.com, along with various merchandise.

25. Jaz Karis – Safe Flight

Source:Jaz Karis

Today, South London R&B artist Jaz Karis has dropped her brand new debut, full length album SAFE FLIGHT via MNRK Music Group. Listen to the album across all streaming platforms HERE and watch the music video for the album’s focus track, “LOVE ME,” HERE. SAFE FLIGHT vinyl is now available for purchase HERE.

The debut album, SAFE FLIGHT, takes its name from the messages Jaz receives from family when setting off on international work adventures, recording in LA, shooting music videos in Barbados, partying in Ghana, and returning home to her roots in London. SAFE FLIGHT finds an accomplished, assured artist reflecting on where she’s been and ready to step up to the next level. At once soulful, vibey and poignant, this is an album about embracing possibility, admitting mistakes, and trusting the process.

On the album, Jaz notes: “I am so proud and so happy to announce my debut album SAFE FLIGHT. The whole concept of this album came to me whilst I was working in LA. This past year or so I have traveled back and forth between London & Los Angeles so much that I hadn’t realized how much my life was changing before my eyes. The title SAFE FLIGHT felt fitting due to the amount of times I had heard it this past year, it also felt like I was embarking on a new journey which is exactly what this album has been for me. The majority of this album was created in Los Angeles, bar a few songs made in other places such as New York City, Atlanta & Texas. With only one song being created at home in London, it felt like I really had begun a new chapter in life with this body of work. I wanted the features to also reflect my travels & I’m so fortunate to have had so many stellar artists from across the globe collaborate with me on this. The music also goes into different worlds, but I would like to think that soul runs throughout every song, making them all feel like a flowing body of work. From me to anybody listening, I hope you have a safe flight.”

The music video for “LOVE ME” is a raw and evocative visual experience. Filmed in a water-filled cave, Karis stands as the focal point in this natural setting. Reflections, shadows, and natural lighting add to the dynamics of each frame. The imagery, grainy and dark in color, perfectly mirror the mood of the song. The contrast of Karis, dressed in white against the moody aquatic environment, is striking. As Karis sings the gentle chorus, “Even if you don’t love me, I’m good on God,” a message of healing becomes clear. The video, though simple, beautifully complements the emotions conveyed in the song, creating a harmony between visual and auditory expression.

Late last month it was announced that Jaz will be hosting two ‘SAFE FLIGHT – FROM LA TO LDN’ shows in support of the album. The LA show will take place on Sunday, November 10th at The Peppermint Club with the London show occurring on Friday, November 22nd at Islington Assembly Hall. Tix can be purchased HERE for Los Angeles and HERE for London.

26. Jordan Ward & Joony – Jealousy

Source:Jordan Ward

Jordan Ward and Maryland artist Joony have unleashed a brand new collaborative single titled “Jealousy.” The record finds Ward and Joony admiring their respective lovers but admitting they’re not able to give their all as they’re emotionally unavailable from the person and the relationship. The song is featured on the duo’s upcoming collaborative EP, JRNY.

The song also comes with a music video directed by City James that shows Ward and Joony reflecting on their troubles being present for their lovers while working on a music video set and later heading to a house party where they continue struggling with the idea of being supportive partners. Following their previous joint effort, “IDC,” in 2022, Ward and Joony are continuing to show their natural chemistry on “Jealousy,” which they first premiered at Broccoli City Festival.

Fans can pre-order JRNY HERE.

Ward is fresh off his international European tour, 2EURWARD, which had the multihyphenate superstar touch down in cities such as Amsterdam, Paris, Portugal, and more. Ward had also brought his eclectic sound to stages across America, such as Broccoli City Festival, Summerstage in Central Park, and more. Ward also recently graced the stage at the Grammy’s MusiCares and Amazon Music’s Live on the Lawn concert last month.

2024 has already been a good year for Jordan Ward, as he racked up several accolades, including a spot-on Billboard’s 15 Hip-Hop & R&B Artists To Watch in 2024 list and an NAACP Image Awards Nomination for Outstanding New Artist. He also teamed up with Spotify on their Singles platform to cover Bob Marley & The Wailer’s classic song “Waiting in Vain” and stepped into Hollywood with the release of “Player Two” which is featured on the official movie soundtrack to the 2024 remake of Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead.

Joony, on the other hand, is a 23-year-old singer/songwriter who’s been making waves as one of the brightest stars in the industry. He had his first breakout moment on Brent Faiyaz’s Wasteland album on the track “FYTB,” which debuted at #97 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. His latest album, MEMENTO (Deluxe), put even more people on notice with tracks such as “I KNOW,” “NEED IT,” “SADITTY,” and more.

Joony’s talent landed him a feature on Blxst’s latest album, I’ll Always Come Find You, on the standout track “Thousand Hours,” and he served as a supporting act on European/UK leg of Lil Tjay’s ‘Beat The Odds’ tour. If that weren’t enough, Joony also signed a deal with Red Bull Records in partnership with Blxst’s Evgle imprint and his own collective 211.

27. GloRilla – Hollon

Source:theofficialGloRilla

GRAMMY-nominated artist GloRilla has raised the bar once again by dropping a huge announcement: her debut album GLORIOUS is set to arrive on October 11. The studio album comes after Big Glo trailblazed her way through the music industry with infectious hit records and high-profile collaborations that have won fans over around the globe. Fans who pre-order the album will get two instant gratification tracks, “Hollon” and her summer smash “TGIF.”

Pre-Order GLORIOUS HERE.

In addition to the album announcement, the 25-year-old has given fans a surprise by releasing “Hollon” as her latest single. The track has been teased several times on social media and went viral with fans who couldn’t get enough of the song by recording their own videos to it. “Hollon” is another banger from the CMG product as she weaves through the speaker-rattling production and dishes out fierce bars about how she handles her business with her collective of fierce women. “H*e, you must not know what you just started (da f*ck) / Me and my b*tches go gnarley / Give a f*ck about this party / We gone step on sh*t regardless (stamp dat),” Glo states triumphantly to open the track.

Listen to “Hollon” HERE.

GloRilla has been on a tear over the last several months, starting with her last project, a 12-track effort titled Ehhthang, Ehhthang, which was released in April and generated over 550 million streams in the U.S. to date. The mixtape propelled Glo further into the spotlight and had her dominate the summer season as two of the project’s biggest songs, “Yeah Glo” and “Wanna Be” with Megan Thee Stallion, simultaneously hit Urban Radio Top 10 list along with her biggest anthem to date, the Rihanna-co-signed “TGIF.” Glo became the first female artist to achieve that feat in almost a decade and she didn’t stop there as all three songs went on to chart on the Billboard Hot 100, with each peaking at the Top 30. In particular, “Wanna Be” went #1 on the Rhythmic Radio chart while “TGIF” is still active, cracking the Top 10 this week and still climbing.

Glo also received the key to the city of Memphis for her musical achievements in September and also performed an exhilarating set at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, where she was also nominated four times and turned heads with a red carpet look inspired by Vogue, which was highlighted in a ‘Get Ready With’ piece with the iconic publication. The bonafide hitmaker also hit the road alongside Megan Thee Stallion as an opening act on her sold-out Hot Girl Summer tour earlier this summer. She was also invited to serve as a presenter at the ESPYs, iHeartRadio Music Awards, and Billboard Women in Music. The Glo train isn’t stopping there either, as the rapper has been nominated seven times for the upcoming 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards in October.

28. Annie J – Gotta Give It Up

Source:Annie J – Topic

As the second-eldest daughter in a large Mormon family, Seattle-based retro soul and modern pop artist Annie J has always relied on music to find a sense of belonging. With a childhood spent shuffling around small towns throughout the US, she found a constant companion in what was flowing through the speakers of a “dream machine” radio alarm clock her grandfather gifted her. The R&B and jazz stylings of Whitney Houston and Nina Simone that Annie gravitated toward swirled with country-soaked powerhouse voices of Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire, The Chicks, and The Judds that her mother had on repeat. The messages these women sent via their music sparked her desire not only for singing but also for crafting stories and emotions into melodies that resonate, as well as modeling the significance of what it means to be uniquely you.

Annie’s sound has evolved into a singular blend of pop sensibility, soulful expression, and jazz-infused rhythms—she mentions contemporary voices like Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Erykah Badu, Janelle Monae, and Billie Eilish are current influences. She blends her skillful songwriting and brilliant vocals seamlessly on her second EP, Been Loving You (releasing October 18, 2024), for a sound that is truly her own.

The new single, “Gotta Give It Up,” showcases Annie’s affinity for disco-infused rhythms and collaborative energy. It features a vibrant ensemble of musicians who elevate the track to celebratory heights, including Brad Gibson on drums and David Dawda (Fruit Bats) on bass, as well as the icing-on-the-cake string arrangement by Emily Westman, guitar by RL Heyer, and a full live horn section featuring Brennan Carter (The Dip), Peter Daniel (Father John Misty), and Jason Cressey (The Monophonics).

After being formally trained in classical music and studying theater in college, Annie is now an in-demand vocalist working with an impressive array of musicians, including Seattle Rock Orchestra, The True Loves, Odesza, The Dip, Allen Stone, the legendary Cedell Davis, and more. With a wealth of experience, she has learned to weave authenticity and connection into her work, creating an EP that empowers listeners to find strength in vulnerability by sharing her stories of hard-won realization. Written in collaboration with her husband, songwriter Nick Foster, Been Loving You is a letter of sorts to earlier versions of herself, an exhumation of her past, and an embrace of gratitude for her experiences.

29. sunsetto – She’s The Whole World

Source:sunsetto

Canadian singer, songwriter and producer sunsetto continues his rise in the alt-pop scene with his new single, “SHE’S THE WHOLE WORLD,” from his forthcoming debut album, THE SUN, THE MOON & THE BIG MACHINE.

In “SHE’S THE WHOLE WORLD,” sunsetto personifies his love through the majestic beauty of nature. With soulful lyrics and a captivating melody, he paints a picture of a world where his significant other embodies the essence of everything around him—she’s not just a part of the world—she is the world to him. Drawing inspiration from nature’s elements, the song portrays a love so deep it becomes intertwined with the earth’s most inspiring landscapes.

I wanted to express how love can be as vast and powerful as nature itself,” sunsetto shares. “It’s raw, it’s honest, and it’s the most vulnerable I’ve ever been in my music.”

“SHE’S THE WHOLE WORLD” is the final single ahead of sunsetto’s debut album THE SUN, THE MOON & THE BIG MACHINE, which will be out October 4th. The 11-track album promises to take listeners on an emotional journey through love, heartache, and self-discovery.

My evolution is all here, in one album — from track to track,” sunsetto says of the concept behind THE SUN, THE MOON & THE BIG MACHINE. The title addresses the complexity of being true to yourself in today’s rapid-fire content culture: “The Sun is love, energy and warmth, The Moon is the dream of celebrity—almost too hard to reach—and The Big Machine is the giant invisible cloud we call the internet, a place where we upload our memories.”

30. Max McNown – Willfully Blind

Source:Max McNown

Today, Max McNown, Nashville-based Oregon-raised singer-songwriter on the rise, released a gripping new EP Willfully Blind on Fugitive Recordings x The Orchard. Listen here.

The EP lands as he makes his AmericanaFest debut playing tonight at Nashville’s 5 Spot, and as we see another major resurgence of his breakout hit single “A Lot More Free.” Since the single’s release it has amassed over 55M+ streams, earned McNown a spot on Billboard’s Emerging Artists chart, and peaked at #1 on the TikTok Breakthrough USA chart. The song has again seen astronomical growth in the past few weeks following the 1 year anniversary of the song, which hit #1 on Country iTunes Chart and Viral 50 Spotify playlists globally including the US, Australia, Sweden, Norway, and South Africa.

It’s hard to believe that all of this happened within a year of Max learning to play guitar and officially releasing music, but that is very much the case for this new singer-songwriter star on the rise.

Produced by Paul Mabury, Willfully Blind is composed of five original tracks and two additional acoustic versions. “Over the last year I’ve been doing my very best to learn and grow as a songwriter,” says McNown. “I see the Willfully Blind EP as a deeper exploration into storytelling, pulling inspiration from my own life and creating something with a life of its own. The songs are unique and aren’t boxed into one genre, so I’ll leave it to the fans to decide.”

The EP’s focus track “Snowman” features a passionate performance that will tug at your heart strings. “The lyrics of ‘Snowman’ ring true for anyone who has felt the glow of a true connection, only to watch it slip from their fingers, and ultimately fade away,” shares Max McNown, adding “The desperation and hopelessness of the experience sets in throughout the song, resulting in the refusal to accept reality. ‘Ice can’t start a fire, but I’ll keep trying…’”

31. Benjamin Tod ft. Sierra Ferrell – One Last Time

Source:Benjamin Tod

“This song is probably the most personally special track off this record,” says songwriter Benjamin Tod of his latest single, “One Last Time.” The album-closing number from Tod’s upcoming LP, Shooting Star, “One Last Time” was written about the trials of love and, in his words, “Having to sometimes take the burden of responsibility for things that may not be your fault.” A lot of the discussion around Tod’s new music takes that kind of tone; that of a clear, thoughtful mind fueled by accepting love and happiness. With Shooting Star, the self-proclaimed “proprietor of misery” finds himself transcending into a life of gratitude, patience, and stability.

This replenished version of Tod shines brightly in both his songwriting and performances. Joined by the ever-enchanting Sierra Ferrell for the 6/8-time “One Last Time,” Tod’s voice takes on a new character. His long-fiery delivery—evident in the years of material released as the frontman of Lost Dog Street Band—is as strong as ever but feels clean and pure; like the truth behind the words clears his throat to escape. “I can’t be defeated, as long as I’m needed. I live on that hope in your eyes,” sing the pair in the tune’s first chorus. “That line sums up a lot of the emotion tied together in this song,” says Tod. “It conveys that failure is not an option because there is a higher duty in order and states clearly what the reward is.” Words of a man who has overcome lifelong personal demons, one who has finally become liberated—not only in his personal life but also in his music.

On October 18th via Thirty Tigers, Tod will release his all-new solo LP, Shooting Star, a ten-song venture into country music’s last six or seven decades. “The original idea for this album was for each song to be placed in a different production period in country music history,” says Tod. “Obviously, there’s no way to cover everything so my preference shines through. A tune goes as far back as the mid-50s and spans up to the early 90’s.” The album—which Tod sees as a musical homecoming of sorts—was written in about two weeks. “It spilled out seamlessly,” he says. “I wanted to prove to myself and the industry that I could write an elite country record with ease. If I didn’t accomplish that goal, I sure as hell came closer than anyone on pop country radio either way.”

Fans can stream or purchase “One Last Time” today at this link, check out Tod’s previously-released singles, “I Ain’t The Man” and “Satisfied With Your Love,” at their respective links, and pre-order or pre-save Shooting Star ahead of its October 18th release via Thirty Tigers right here. This October, Tod, along with the entire Lost Dog Street Band continue their nationwide Shooting Star tour covering both his solo and band catalogs. Tour dates—including four new December dates concluding in Nashville— can be found below and at benjamintodmusic.com

34. Kito – BIMYOU

Source:Kito

Australian-born, LA-based producer, DJ and tastemaker Kito has unveiled her stunning solo BIMYOU EP out now via Mad Decent. A collection of bold, vibrant, floor shakers, the four-track EP features like-minded genre-breakers including Kah-Lo, Brazy, Baauer, Wafia, Nonso Amadi, St. Panther, and Beau Nox.

Flirty and fun, BIMYOU flaunts the femme-centric spirit that stretches throughout Kito’s extensive discography and soundtracks her Club Kito party series. From the sultry multi-lingual dual vocals provided by Nigeria’s Kah-Lo and Brazy on ‘take your vibes and go’ to the intoxicating trade-off between Wafia and Nonso Amadi on ‘back 2 love’, the EP is heightened by Kito’s ability to dabble with an array of genres. A fierce foursome set to take over dancefloors around the globe, the companion tracks ‘die 4 you’ and ‘don’t leave’ further display Kito’s experimental tendencies.

Complex yet minimal, the eclectic production showcases Kito at her finest, skewing the curves of genre boundaries and drawing inspiration from the EP’s namesake – “BIMYOU”, a Japanese word (微)妙) that translates to “subtle” but implies that something is a little off. Refined and forward-thinking, BIMYOU is the culmination of Kito’s years as a songwriter and tastemaker.

“I have a tendency to hold on to words and names that inspire me and BIMYOU is probably one I’ve had an infatuation with for the longest. I actually had the cover artwork designed by a friend in 2016 knowing I wanted to do a project called “BIMYOU” one day. It’s a Japanese word that literally translates to “subtle” but implies that “something is a little off, and it might be better to just do without it altogether”. This EP has largely been about subtracting the stuff I felt came from a place of overthinking, and keeping the bits that felt a little “off” – in a good way. I’m really proud of this EP and am so grateful to all the artists that collaborated with me on it – couldn’t have wished for a better lineup!” – Kito

Kito has built a stunning discography that showcases her unique take on left-field pop and dance music. Her credits extend to include work with Skrillex on his Grammy-nominated Quest For Fire (‘Inhale Exhale’ with Aluna), as well as artists such as BANKS, Fletcher, Empress Of, and Tinashe, and remixes for artists such as Sia, Kylie Minogue, Marina. Across her pair of EPs, HAANI in 2018 and Blossom in 2021, Kito collaborated with acts like ZHU, Hudson Mohawke, Jeremih, Channel Tres, VanJess, BROODS, and more. Behind the decks, Kito is known for her impeccable taste and highly curated underground event series Club Kito, where she hosts femme-led lineups featuring Tei Shi, Tove Lo, Uffie, and Blu DeTiger.

Earlier this year, Kito and Chrome Sparks formed a new electronic superduo IS U IS U and released their collaborative debut Melter EP, which earned them the cover of Spotify’s metropolis playlist. Kito continued to garner support across Spotify (Dance Rising, Women of Electronic), Apple Music (New Music Daily), Amazon Music (Fresh Dance), YouTube (New Dance), and Tidal (Fresh House) with BIMYOU’s first single, along with the cover of Spotify’s Bounce playlist.

This Fall, Kito will set out on her BIMYOU Tour with upcoming headline stops in Brooklyn, DC, and Denver, and select dates supporting Diplo.

Stream Kito’s new BIMYOU EP is available now on all platforms.

“Highway” stands out as a beautifully written, heartbreaking track with Shaboozey’s signature baritone vocals, Western-style acoustic guitar melodies, and backup vocals elevating its texture and complexity. The music video, with stunning visuals throughout, follows Shaboozey as he wanders through life lost in darkness following a devastating breakup. On a journey through small towns, picturesque meadows, rural plains, and lively carnivals, Shaboozey continues on an endless, aimless journey as he sings “Since you stop riding shotgun I ain’t been myself, went out looking for a good time but I’m going through hell, got Jesus on the hotlines saying you need help, liquor on the shelf, tell the devil farewell.”

Also, watch his recent performance of the track on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert HERE

Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going is Shaboozeys’ most boldly realized work yet. Holding strong on the Billboard 200 charts since release with significant inclusion on the “Best Albums of 2024” mid-year reviews by BillboardRolling Stone, and The Tennessean, the Virginia-bred singer and songwriter charts a cinematic road trip through the wilds of the American West, bringing a powerful new depth to his storytelling while pushing further into the country/folk-inspired sound he’s explored in recent years.

Shaboozey’s breakthrough country anthem and song of the summer “A Bar Song (Tipsy)” is now 4X RIAA-Platinum certified and is currently in its 10th week atop the Billboard Hot 100, the longest reigning #1 track of 2024. The track has also reached #1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay Charts and Mediabase/Country Aircheck. He made history as the first artist to ever have a single break the top 10 across all four charts: Country Airplay, Pop Airplay, Adult Pop Airplay, and Rhythmic Airplay, and the second ever single by a Black artist to top both the Billboard Hot 100 and Country Songs Charts.

The song has also amassed over a billion streams and landed in the Top 10 in several countries across the world with multiple No. 1 in Australia (becoming the first independent single to reach No. 1 on the Australian Recording Industry Association charts this year) Canada, Sweden, Denmark, and the UK’s Big 40. 36. Kay Flock – Make America Flock Again

Source:KayFlockVEVO

Today, Bronx drill trailblazer Kay Flock gives the people what they want with his booming new mixtape, Make America Flock Again. In a show of force, the influential star brings together a powerful all-Bronx lineup to flesh out the immersive set — Lil Tjay, AC Zoe, B-Lovee, Stunna, Kenzo Balla, and TG Flockaa — which is Kay Flock’s first project since 2022’s The D.O.A. Tape [Care Package]. Listen to Make America Flock Again HERE

Last month, Kay Flock ended a two-year drought with the booming mixtape opener, “Fed Up.” It was a full-circle moment since his first big record was as a guest on Lil Tjay’s RIAA Gold®-certified “Not in the Mood.” But Kay Flock has since dropped his own Gold records (“Is Ya Ready,” “PSA,” “Being Honest,” and Hot 100 hit “Shake It” featuring Cardi B, Dougie B, and Bory300) and he’s once again poised to run up the play count with Make America Flock Again.

Take “What You On,” where AC Zoe, Kay Flock, and B-Lovee tear through their rapid-fire verses, painting dark pictures of retribution over a guitar line that gets subtly warped across a backdrop of harsh bass and paranoid whispers. Our host is as focused as ever, injecting some humor into the storytelling: “They say, ‘Kay, you be buggin’, like, brodie what’s wrong?’ / I don’t know, I just get in my zone / I start clickin’ till this s*** is gone / Most of my opps bunny hop to my songs.”

Make America Flock Again sports production from the likes of the GRAMMY-nominated Kenoe (Jeezy, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z), Project Kidz (Lil Baby, Nicki Minaj, Lil Uzi Vert), and Marcuss Muzik (NBA YoungBoy, MO3, HD4President), among others who help create a futuristic, bass-damaged soundtrack for Kay Flock and his friends. “Clicking” featuring Stunna sounds dystopian and distorted, while posse cut “Everything K” with Dougie B, Kenzo Balla, and TG Crippy constantly shifts beneath the rappers’ feet.

Before the tape wraps, fans get another side of Kay Flock on the relationship-focused “Talk 2 Me” — a reminder of the range and innovation he staked out in the first place. The original The D.O.A. Tape made The New York Times’ esteemed best albums of 2022 list, and the 18-track [Care Package] expansion found him in all his various modes of confident yet introspective lyricism, tracing his growth from the aforementioned Gold®-certified cuts on through buzzworthy additions like “Outta Luck” featuring a then-rising BIG30. The project includes features from rap luminaries like Gucci Mane, Fivio Foreign, G Herbo, and others.

By the age of 19, Kay Flock had already helped to transform drill music in New York and beyond, earning critical acclaim from publications including The New York Times, Pitchfork, VULTURE, STEREOGUM, Rolling Stone, Billboard and more. Two years on, with Make America Flock Again now in play, Kay Flock may very well shift the culture yet again.

37. Jana Diab – Season One

Source:Jana Diab

Pop experimentalist Jana Diab can’t help but wear her heart on her sleeve. And on her debut body of work, titled Season One EP, she bares it all. On the four track EP, Jana experiments with songwriting as a form of catharsis and alongside collaborator Couros, has created a soundscape that is both melodic and head bangingly good.

Jana Diab launched onto the scene earlier this Summer with debut release “Escape Plan” — a single which Uproxx deemed “an emphatic introductory statement” (“Best in Pop”) and set the tone of what critics and fans would come to expect. Following up with introspective songs like “So Stupid” and “I’ll Just Say It” cemented Jana’s position as an artist with a strong pen by the likes of Uproxx, The Honey Pop, Sweety High and more. And now rounding out the project with “Season One,” Jana showcases her playful energy interpolating different genres helmed with the support of Couros.

Jana’s effortless ability to convey emotions and contemplative thoughts alongside evocative visuals (all her music videos were shot in her hometown of Cairo, Egypt) is aptly positioning the 23 year old artist as one of music’s more exciting artists to watch.

38. Audrey Nuna – Mine

Source:AUDREY NUNA

Today, genre-defying Korean-American artist and songwriter Audrey Nuna announces her eagerly awaited second studio album, TRENCH, arriving on Friday, October 18. The announcement arrives alongside her latest single “Mine,” out now via Arista Records. Listen to the brand new track HERE.

Following up on her critically-acclaimed debut album a liquid breakfast, TRENCH sees Audrey emerging as her own bionic hero—one who’s armored and undaunted, but also embraces vulnerability as her greatest strength. The duality of this character is epitomized by the album’s two parts, “Soft Skin” and “Hard Feelings.” Overall, on TRENCH, Audrey takes a quantum leap into her barrier breaking career. Read more about the new project in Rolling Stone’s announcement HERE. Pre-save TRENCH HERE

“Mine” is Audrey’s latest offering Audrey off the album, with three acclaimed singles released throughout the year: the “bold” (CLASH) jumpstart to 2024 “Starving” ft. Teezo Touchdown and “out-of-this-world” (UPROXX) ballad “Jokes On Me.” On August 16, Audrey debuted her latest track “Suckin Up,” a prime example of the young artist’s musical agility as she effortlessly jumps between melodic vocals and playful raps.  The singles set the tone for TRENCH, marking a new chapter both sonically and aesthetically while serving as a testament to her evolution over the past three years.

39. Yatta Bandz ft. Lil Bean – My Mistake

Source:Yatta Bandz

A master of melody with a massive following in his region, Heyward, CA’s Yatta Bandz always wears his heart on his sleeve. Displaying a humility uncommon in rappers of his stature, the Bay Area’s best-kept secret shares “My Mistake,” his new single. “My Mistake” is the first step on the road to Acrylic, the 22-year-old artist’s next EP.

Emoting in his signature melodic flow, Yatta acknowledges his flaws and owns up to his past failures, before resolving to turn the page on the past. He gets assistance from a friend from across the Bay–San Francisco’s Lil Bean–whose lamentations about street issues provide a perfect contrasts to Yatta’s matters of the heart. The song arrives with a video directed by AdamKG, who films both artists at sunset as they lay their souls bare.

Born in Hayward, an East Bay city south of Oakland and north of Fremont,  Yatta Bandz has quietly become one of the most popular rappers to emerge from the Bay Area this decade. The young rapper had a rough childhood, experiencing periods of homelessness during his elementary school years. He found his refuge in music, sharing freestyles to YouTube and building a following big enough to make his debut album a hit. Since releasing his debut project Perfect Storm in 2022, Yatta has generated over 480 million worldwide streams, including on hits like “Don’t Go” (40.3 million Spotify streams, 10 million YouTube views) and “Unseen Scars” (38 million Spotify streams, 6.7 million views on YouTube audio). Last year, Yatta followed up Perfect Storm with the heartfelt TUFF LUV, home to highlights like “Way Out West” and “Polaroid.” A showcase for his sharp songwriting and achingly honest lyrics, TUFF LUV has racked up over 50 million streams to date across platforms.

This fall, Yatta plans to refine his sound even further with his upcoming EP, Acrylic. Painting on canvas with his earworm melodies, Yatta likens himself to a master painter, with an unlimited array of colors in his palette. With 3 million streams per week on his catalog and a work of art on the way, Yatta hopes to become the next Bay Area rapper to blow. Stay tuned for the new EP, coming soon via EMPIRE.

And like, I’m just not a morning person so that sucked. I’m pretty dramatic about not being a morning person though I guess, since I wrote a song about it,” says front man Giuliano Messina.

The new body of work reveals a striking new chapter in Orion’s personal life and creative journey and is brought to life through the dynamic walls of Orion. Sonically, the album captures the evolution of Orion’s ethereal, boundless sound, presenting Orion like we’ve never seen or heard her before. Earlier this week, Zane Lowe premiered the captivating track “These Days” on his beloved Apple Music’s Beats 1 radio show as part of the New Music Daily playlist cover and today Orion shares a striking visual for the single. The album serves as Orion’s first offering following a two year hiatus, resulting in a deeply palpable body of work that will undeniably establish the young Orion as a major force in the music area and one of today’s most essential artists.

At its core, Orion is a heart split open, examined and mended; moulded into something new. And as it

washes over you, there’s a sense that it’s not only fuelled by but infused with love in all its forms for self, for others, for the world around us – crafted by an artist who has met and knows herself on a deeper level than we’ve seen yet. “Already Gone” sees Orion picking up where she left off, capturing a moment in her life where the future she set out for herself drastically changed with the dismantlement of her romantic relationship, ultimately representing a transition for the young artist that sees her leave her life in New York and move to Los Angeles, and ultimately the start to the creative endeavor of unearthing this new staggering body of work. Enveloped through a strong connection to nature that runs deep throughout the album, “Mary Jane” tells a journey of love and incredible hardship and joy that it can bring. Through an earnest exploration and surrender to love, she brilliantly soundtracks a spellbinding coming of age story. “Sweet” reveals Orion’s personal and strikingly earnest exploration of self, unearthing the complexities of our humanity in which we can find ourselves to be our own biggest champions while also our worst enemies. As seen through the standout tracks, Orion arrives in breathtaking form with her self-titled album, deeply multi-dimensional and brimming with earnest authenticity that resonates with millions around world, dazzling in its beauty and strength.

Orion has impressively achieved extraordinary feats rarely seen amongst the realm of independent artists. Additionally, the young artist’s star has continued to rise as she opened for Daniel Caesar’s Superpowers World Tour in 2023 and she recently earned a staggering writing credit on Bryson Tiller’s explosive track “Whatever She Wants” that sampled her song “Intro” from her breakout Getaway EP. 43. Bert McCracken – Terrible

Source:robbietheused

Today, Bert McCracken has released a new single for his solo project, robbietheused. The song, “Terrible” is the third of three singles released by the Used frontman so far, the other two being the successes “Just a Little Bit” and “The Feels.”

“Terrible” is a tragic love song about losing the one you love, set to a high-energy anthem that blends infectious melodies with irresistible danceable beats. This track masterfully draws on timeless themes of love and romance, reimagining them in a way that feels both familiar and fresh. With its catchy chorus and upbeat tempo, “Terrible” is poised to become an instant pop favorite, seamlessly combining classic pop elements with a modern, innovative twist.

“This is the first song we recorded for robbietheused. This is my favorite kind of pop song, a simple love song with a simple message. Can’t wait for you to sing along with me! Cause without You life is Terrible! ” shares robbie.

robbie will be embarking on the highly anticipated, 5 stop fall tour kicking off on October 30 in Anaheim, CA, followed by shows in major cities: Los Angeles, Philadelphia and New York City. The tour will wrap up on November 6 in Asbury Park, NJ. For tickets and more information: https://www.robbietheused.com/

In general, robbietheused always finds solace in writing and recording new music because this creativity has a positive impact on his mental health. Having these songs were particularly vital, as he started writing during the COVID-19 pandemic when he was unable to travel from his home in Australia.

Producer John Feldmann came onboard to work on robbietheused material.  Given that the two men have known (and collaborated with) each other for decades, it wasn’t a stretch for them to focus on pop-oriented songs. In fact, this camaraderie led to adventurous sound explorations, such as incorporating heavy bass undertones and effects and vocoders.

“John Feldmann is a wizard,” robbietheused says. “He can make anything and he’s so easy to work with. He’s the hardest working man I know in the music industry. There’s no drama recording with him.  It was a smooth process—just like making a Used record.”

The pair holed up in the studio for intense, week-long studio sessions; among other things, they recorded one song every day, without fail. This approach to the recording process was quite meaningful, in no small part because it doubled as a daily mental health tune-up.

“In the morning, we’d talk about how we’re feeling and what’s on our minds on that day,” he explains. “And ask, ‘How’s the mental health? How’s the vibes?’ And then we’d formulate a song around that. It was almost like a therapy session, where I’d really get to talk about anything that’s on my mind, and then make a song about it.”

With a full album and live dates coming in the future, robbietheused has proven to be an invaluable gift—in more ways than one.

“Any feeling is valid—and to be able to put it to song is incredible,” robbietheused says. “And there’s so much room in this world for positivity. I want this music to show that there’s room for love. There’s room for growth. There’s room for redemption. There’s room for sweet, loving revenge. There’s so many good people—and so many good things happening.”

44. Ghost Hounds ft. Patty Griffin – Long Ride Home

Source:Ghost Hounds

Today, Ghost Hounds are thrilled to release their cover of Patty Griffin’s “Long Ride Home” feat. Patty Griffin.

“Patty Griffin is a lyrical genius,” says SAVNT, the band’s lead singer. “When we were putting together our setlist for a show earlier this year, Thomas Tull (guitarist and lead songwriter), brought in ‘Long Ride Home’ to see how it’d fit the band. There are very few songs that are simple, beautiful, and pull at your heartstrings all at the same time. We all felt that same magic and knew we had to perform it. From the audience’s response, it was clear that it needed to be properly recorded, and when Patty heard it and agreed to grace us with her extraordinary voice, it was one of those moments that we will never forget.”

Ghost Hounds are a country rock band with a heavy blues influence that proves the genre is not only alive but thriving for the next generation of rock fans. Fronted by SAVNT and backed by guitarists Tyler Chiarelli and Thomas Tull, fiddler Kristin Weber, bassist Bennett Miller, and drummer Sydney Driver, the band has made significant statements with their four studio albums.

Ghost Hounds’ debut, Roses Are Black (2019), earned widespread acclaim from Billboard, American Songwriter, and more as well as millions of streams on streaming platforms. Their follow-up, A Little Calamity (2021), impressed with its classic rock sensibilities and the hit single “Good Old Days.” You Broke Me (2022) continued their tradition of blending classic blues rock with a modern flair. Their latest album, First Last Time (2023) via Gibson Records, features hit single “Last Train To Nowhere,” which racked up millions of hits via TikTok and Instagram, and was featured in Taylor Sheridan’s new TV show Special Ops: Lioness.

Ghost Hounds have honed their sound on the road, having supported legendary acts like The Rolling Stones, ZZ Top, Garth Brooks, Guns N’ Roses, and Bob Seger. With their chemistry at an all-time high, the band is set to bring even more blues-rock brilliance in the future.

46. TyFontaine – Ascension 2: Act 2

Source:TyFontaine

Following the release of his newest single, “Raw Dawg Dippin”, TyFontaine unleashes ASCENSION2: Act 2, the highly anticipated follow-up to his album, ASCENSION2: Act 1, which featured his viral single, “adventure time (racks on my body).”The album features nine new tracks, including the newest single, “Lift Up Your Head,” which opens the album with heavenly optimism on what the future could bring. The track explores the constant fight towards uncompromising greatness with a bumping of 808 and a gospel sample. Earlier this year, he landed on the list of Hypebeast’s Best Rising Artists of 2024, along with some of the year’s most influential artists, like Artemas and mk.gee. Ty adds:

“A lot of the songs on ASCENSION2: Act 2 have been sitting in the vault for a while, so I’ve been able to connect with the fans on discord to help me choose their favorites. Most of the tracks were made traveling to Atlanta and Miami from D.C. and L.A. Bouncing around all these places got me working with really talented producers like L3GION who worked on ‘Lift Your Head Up’ so I’m really excited for the final result.”

47. Bri Babineaux – Confident

Source:Bri Babineaux

Bayou queen Bri Babineaux has racked up over 200 million digital streams, been sampled by the likes of Kanye West, and is one of the few artists Drake follows on Instagram. The Louisiana native’s first urban foray “I Will Wait” hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Gospel Airplay chart for two weeks earlier this year and has amassed over ten million digital streams. Babineaux has reteamed with seasoned R&B tunesmith and “I Will Wait” co-writer Makeba Riddick (who co-wrote Rihanna’s “Rude Boy,” Jennifer Lopez’ “All I Have,” and Beyoncé’s “Deja Vu) on an assertive new anthem, “Confident” (Bri Babineaux Music / Tyscot).

The ladies recruited some soulful gentlemen such as gospel singer Juan Winans, urban inspirational artist Jor’dan Armstrong alongside Lionicio Saenz Jr. (who’s written for R&B hitmaker Ro James) to flesh out the song’s lyrics and concept under the watchful eye of producer Slikk Muzik (aka Rickey Offord) who’s produced the likes of Ariana Grande and Chris Brown.

“Confident” isn’t just a song for Babineaux. It’s her new mantra. Recently divorced, and suddenly a single mother of a toddler, Babineaux is harnessing her faith with her personal resolve to persevere as an independent young woman with entrepreneurial pursuits. She sings:

I’m not where I’m going

But I’m not where I been

Exactly where I’m standing

He got me so content

“I’m at a place that’s both scary and exciting,” says Babineaux. “On one hand I’m out here on my own but then again, with God, I’m never alone. I’m just exploring new opportunities. I’m stretching myself as an artist, I’m pursuing some enterprises and I’m also raising my son Eli. I’m just figuring it out as I go and I’m confident that God ha sgot my back and is charting my path.”

Babineaux first hit No. 1 on the Billboard Gospel Airplay chart with the country-tinged, “He’s My Rock,” in August 2021. Over the last decade, she’s racked up millions of digital streams for her signature songs such as “Make Me Over,” “My Hands Are Lifted Up,” and “Set A Fire.” She first rose to fame, dramatically belting out the song “Make Me Over” a cappella from a couch. Within months she had millions of followers such as Rihanna, Brandy, Justin Bieber, and Drake. Kanye West sampled Babineaux’s dramatic vocals on “Lord, I Need You” from his 2021 Donda set. Her songs have been programmed on both Gospel and R&B DSP playlists alongside R&B divas with a spiritual side such as H.E.R., Koryn Hawthorne, and Queen Naija.

48. Maverick Sabre – If I Could Only Love You

Source:Maverick Sabre

Singer, songwriter, and producer Maverick Sabre is back with his new single, “If I Could Only Love You Again,” setting the stage for his highly anticipated fifth studio album, Burn The Right Things Down, dropping October 18 via FAMM. The dreamlike track blends euphoric freedom with raw emotion, built around a nostalgic bassline that grabs you from the start. The hopeful lyric, “If tomorrow comes, I hope it brings us all a healing,” infuses the song with joy and optimism, giving it a powerful, uplifting energy.

The cinematic music video, directed by Billy King, takes viewers on a surreal journey that blurs the line between life and death, creating a dreamlike atmosphere with artful juxtapositions that evoke a sense of mystery and wonder.

Burn The Right Things Down began to take shape late last year when Maverick experienced a sudden, intense sense of urgency—a brush with existentialism. It wasn’t brought on by a specific loss, but rather a deep realization that change was needed. Mav decided to step away from London and immerse himself in creating music that aligned with his new perspective, embracing the idea that tomorrow isn’t guaranteed.

Born in Stoke Newington, Mav moved to Ireland at four, growing up in County Wexford before returning to London at seventeen. Raised on a rich musical diet of blues, folk, and country passed down from his father, Mav’s love for music became unshakable at an early age. As a teen, he immersed himself in the Irish hip-hop scene, quickly gaining recognition as both an MC and producer. His sound has since evolved into a unique fusion of his diverse influences, inspired by legends like The Stone Roses, The Beatles, Tupac, Cymande, 9th Wonder, DJ Premier, and Nas.

With over a decade in the music industry, Maverick Sabre has built an impressive career. He’s released four albums and worked with artists like George The Poet, Ghetts, Nia Archives, Joey Bada$$, Chronixx, Jorja Smith, Nile Rodgers, Vintage Culture, and Chase & Status.

In the coming months, Maverick will bring Burn The Right Things Down to life with a series of special performances in unique venues. He’ll kick things off with his Live To Vinyl event at the legendary Metropolis Studios in West London, recording the album in a single take, pressed live to vinyl in front of an intimate audience of just 30 people, capturing the magic in real time. Stay tuned for more news on how to experience the album live in the next week.

The by-product of a long-running friendship, GEMS IN THE CORNERSTORE II finds two world-class artists understanding where their strengths meet and precisely what constitutes a desired vibe. Inspired by UK nightlife, the collection encapsulates the African diaspora that’s been beautifully fostered within the walls of the London club scene and their shared Caribbean heritage. Elujay and J.Robb recorded primarily in person, across sessions in Los Angeles, Oakland, London, and New York, with a sprawl of guests, infusing the work with a vibrancy for life and a global sensibility.

JEMS! titled their debut project GEMS IN THE CORNERSTORE (released in 2020 on Soulection Records) because the phrase conjured “a kind of urban diamond in the rough,” says Elujay; the feeling of finding something unexpected in the melting pot of a city, an allegory that’s even more apt for its follow-up. An irresistible “feel-good record,” as J.Robb put it, by a duo whose shared love for music and deep admiration for each other remains at the core of their art. All artwork for this project was created by renowned visual artist Frank Dorrey who has produced striking imagery and artwork for Steve Lacy, Noname, Aminé, and brands like Mowalola to name a few.

FROM ELUJAY ON GEMS IN THE CORNERSTORE II:

“Like an urban diamond in the rough. ‘Gems II’ is an unforgettable discovery of genre bending sonics from different sects of the African diaspora. A cohesive melting pot of sounds, Melodie’s, riffs and lyrics that tie the best memories of our childhoods, the first love of music together like a seamstress. Hopefully, this project serves as a catalyst for your average 1st born generation Caribbean person to relate to.”

50. TiaCorine – Different Colored Stones

Source:TiaCorine

Hip-hop phenomenon TiaCorine pulls us back into her kaleidoscopic, genre-blurring world with “Different Color Stones,” a smooth, melody-blessed celebration of self-love, that’s out now via Interscope Records. Her first official drop since February’s critically acclaimed Almost There EP, the new single finds the North Carolinian artist cycling through vocal styles, and only adds to the sense that she is on the fast track towards a major breakthrough Listen HERE. Watch the music video HERE.

““Different Colored Stones is my first single since my ep… I’ve been recording so much recently… working on my album but I wanted to give my fans something while I’m still working,” said TiaCorine, “It was hard to choose which song but my daughter and my team all said this one was their favorite so I’m trying a new thing where I don’t overthink and trust other people opinions so here we are.”

“Different Color Stones” comes with a Moshpit directed video. It finds Tia flaunting through the streets of Brooklyn. Watch the video HERE. Produced by Pooh Beatz, Ambezza, Fizzle, and JULiA LEWiS, “Different Colored Stones” kicks off with pretty synth notes and an 808-boosted groove. Busy hi-hats, guitar strums, and swirling atmosphere complete the soundscape, but TiaCorine’s voice is the most powerful instrument. She moves from low-key bars to high and harmonious coos, and staccato shouts to melodic fast rap.

“Different Color Stones” most recently follows TiaCorine’s braggadocious appearance alongside A$AP Ferg on Denzel Curry’s summer single HOT ONE,” not to mention the scorching hot music video for her own track “Shamone” — watch HERE — which hails from Almost There. The EP also includes the booming standout track and video “Yung Joc” featuring Luh Tyler, which reeled in millions of streams and counting.

Following the EP release, Rolling Stone spoke to TiaCorine for an in-depth interview, and The FADER applauded how Almost There “highlights just how far her chameleonic versatility can stretch,” while HotNewHipHop called the set “a compelling snapshot of TiaCorine’s current artistic state.” In March, she launched her debut headline tour hitting New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, her home state of North Carolina, and more. Listen to Almost There HERE.

TiaCorine’s full-length debut album, I Can’t Wait, was led by breakout track ”FreakyT,” which inspired a viral dance trend, and soared up the . Urban Mainstream Chart and Billboard’s Hip Hop/R&B Chart. Her momentum grew across 2023, when she was not only given XXL Freshman Class status, but also named an “Artist to Watch” by Rolling Stone, COMPLEX, Pigeons & Planes, Zane Lowe, PopSugar, OkayPlayer, Our Generation Music, and ONE37pm. Cosigns from the likes of Drake, Flo-Milli, and the late-great Gangsta Boo followed, as well a direct support slot on Key Glock’s Glockoma Tour and festival appearances including Dreamville Festival, Rolling Loud Miami, Day N Vegas, and Rolling Loud NYC.

51. Bktherula – Adult Swim

Source:Bktherula

Bktherula shares her new single, “Adult Swim,” paying tribute to every stoner and gamer’s favorite late-night network. The song utilizes a sample from Vano3000’s viral “Adult Swim” edit of BadBadNotGood’s “Time Moves Slowly”–Bk sings her own version of the song’s mournful hook. Though the hook is wistful, Bk doesn’t have time to be sentimental in her verses. She hammers her rhymes between inter-dimensional percussion and squiggling synths, recounting hedonistic nights on tour and spitting game. Stream “Adult Swim” HERE via Warner Records.

“Adult Swim” is Bk’s first new single since the release of LVL5 P2, her acclaimed 2024 album, which released in March. The project features the buzzing singles “CRAYON,” which has earned over three million streams, and “SHAKIN IT,” a collaboration with Cash Cobain. Deepening a style she explored with her acclaimed 2023 album LVL5 P1, the new album deposits the listener directly into Bk’s sonic realm, crafted by Bk with assistance from producers like azure, Simmyauto, among others. The album earned praise in Pitchfork (“The Atlanta rapper’s latest imagines a higher dimension where outré flexes and endless love affairs are enveloped by waves of metallic crunch and mind-expanding guitar”), Alternative Press (“The genre-bending rapper and singer-songwriter is competing in her own lane — perhaps even in her own dimension”), HYPEBEAST (“Bktherula Shows Her Versatility on New Album ‘LVL5 P2′”), The FADER (“Bktherula expands her consciousness on LVL 5 P2”), and many other publications.

This summer, the 22-year-old artist headlined the I Just Wanna Be Me Tour, which started at Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash before traveling through North America for 15 dates. Earlier in the year, Bk joined PinkPantheress on the Capable Of Love Tour–she spoke to NYLON about her tour experience.

Named to Forbes’ annual 30 Under 30 list for 2024, Bk has built a devoted following by releasing tracks that showcase her raw emotions. Now, following LVL5 P2, Bk prepares to show a new side of herself with her upcoming project. Stay tuned for more info.

52. Oxlade – Oxlade From Africa

Source:Oxlade

Today, Nigerian superstar Oxlade continues his hot streak by officially releasing his anticipated debut album, Oxlade From Africa, via Epic/Sony Music France.

Blending his past, present, and future into an all-encompassing vision, Oxlade From Africa is a bold and expansive 16-track musical and cultural journey that transcends borders, celebrating African heritage from Lagos to the world. With its title reflecting a broad, inclusive vision, the album highlights Africa’s cultures, elegance and beauty, marking the next step in the Lagos-based artist’s rise, showcasing his journey from breakout success to mainstream recognition.

Aiming to continue making Africans proud of their heritage, Oxlade uses his music, visuals and fashion to deliver a powerful message of unity, and is continuing the momentum from his massive global hit “Ku Lo Sa,” which has 574 million streams and was certified GOLD by the RIAA this week. The project is also home to recent singles “Intoxycated” ft. Dave, both halves of the double “KATIGORI/PIANO” release, “Arabambi” and most recent offering “IFA” featuring Congolese superstar Fally Ipupa.

LP opener “Interlude” features Ugandan political activist and musician Bobi Wine who introduces the album with a powerful co-sign and thought-provoking message, setting a powerful tone with an uplifting message of resilience and African spirit. “OLAITAN (Olaoluwa),” which translates to “the wealth, the favor and the grace of God shall never leave you” in Yoruba, finds Oxlade reflecting on his life journey, embracing a mindset of faith and destiny over a warm and feel-good production. “Blessed” features Jamaican Dancehall legend Popcaan and becomes an instant highlight as they share stories of overcoming struggles, highlighting that despite their youth, valuing your self-worth and positivity is key.

2023 summer smash “Intoxycated” continues to ooze star quality alongside London rap king Dave as they showcase their storytelling finesse, delving into a story of love and the intoxicating traits that come with it. Oxlade’s global breakout hit “KU LO SA” follows. Originally a spontaneous decision before his COLORS performance, the songs heartfelt lyrics symbolizes trust in intuition and the power of seizing opportunities, putting his vocal talents front and centre. “IFA” is a sultry love song infused with Coupé-Décalé and Afrobeats rhythms, as Oxlade reassures his love interest that she is his priority, painting vivid images of devotion with cheeky metaphors, whilst Fally Ipupa’s melodic touch further amplifies the song’s seductive energy.

“Ovami” features High-life legend Flavour and delivers a harmonious blend of love and unity as Oxlade taps into the rich heritage of High-life music, a sound central to Nigerian culture, making the track a celebration of love in all its forms. Spring single “Arabambi” is the nickname of K1 De Ultimate, an iconic Nigerian Fuji musician and means “the child of the people,” “the community gave birth to this child,” and “the one.” The track’s melody, inspired by Miguel’s vocal style, mixes African tradition with modern R&B, creating an irresistible fusion of rhythm, love and pride. “Tamuno (Interlude)” is a spiritual pause in the album, offering a moment of reflection. Named after a deity in Nigerian culture, it serves as a homage to Oxlade’s faith and spiritual journey, laying the groundwork for the more sensual and energetic songs to follow, and “ASUNASA (Hold Your Waist)” featuring Wande Coal offers exactly that. With influences from Wande Coal’s classic “So Mi So,” this stylistic offering sees both artists trade risque, Afrocentric verses, merging spiritual undertones with sensual energy to become an instant album highlight.

The P-Prime-produced “Piano” is a heartfelt love song that blends the soft hits of a log-drum, piano and drums with Oxlade’s signature falsetto and ad-libs that characterises Oxlade’s effortless ability to create romantic anthems. The Sarkodie-featuring “Ololufe” is a tribute to the iconic “Ololufe” by Wande Coal, adding a modern twist with influences from Reggae, Dancehall, and Afrobeats. Sarkodie’s hard-hitting verse complements Oxlade’s smooth vocals, creating a dynamic love song that pays homage to African R&B while setting new standards. “RMF” (Rich Motherf*cker) is a declaration of confidence and self-worth, drawing inspiration from Fela Kuti’s vintage Afrobeat sound as the 27 year old unapologetically boasts about success, luxury, and the journey that got him here.

“On My Mind (OMM)” features TOMi Owo & OJAHBEE, and dives deep into the emotional rollercoaster of love, becoming an ode to first love as it explores the excitement and nervousness that comes with falling for someone. “Katigori” is Oxlade’s manifesto, written during a time when he had fame but was still striving for success. Closing the album, “OFA” embodies Oxlade in his ultimate form. Again drawing from Fela Kuti’s Afrobeat and blending it with his Afro-Pop style, this track is the culmination of his journey—his evolution into a fully-realized artist. It’s a powerful anthem of self-awareness, confidence, and embracing one’s destiny.

53. Jae Stephens – SELLOUT

Source:jae stephens

Jae Stephens is a student of the R&B game with the vocal and songwriting chops to stand up to the genre’s finest. The Dallas native puts her talents on display with SELLOUT, her new EP, which blends influences from all eras into a shimmering and seductive six tracks. SELLOUT is available on all platforms via Raedio/Def Jam.

SELLOUT is a playful and energetic change of pace for R&B fans who wish their faves would be less dour and confessional and would just have more fun. Jae happily obliges, eschewing ballads in favor of songs designed to keep hips moving, packed with playful one-liners and buoyant hooks. Jae turned up the heat with singles like the glistening “WET,” recognized by Elle as one of the Best Songs of April 2024, a house-flavored banger equally suited for the club or the bedroom. Recent release “Body Favors” keeps the temperature elevated, harkening back to the Timbaland and Neptunes-era with a rubbery bassline and ping-ponging call-and-response vocals. The percolating “Girls Don’t Cheat,” co-written by Chxrry22 and covered by BET and Rated R&B, keeps that vibe going, slowing the tempo to allow for more intimate dancefloor encounters.

Beyond the singles, SELLOUT unveils three new highlights that spotlight Jae’s diverse talents. “Better Boy” is airy and syncopated, giving Jae the opportunity to layer immaculate harmonies about constructing the ideal man like a mad scientist. The breathy “Kiss U Back” is at once retro and modern, evoking SZA and Britney Spears in equal measure as it recalls an era where pop and R&B were two sides of the same coin. Closing track “PDA” ends the EP on a high note, riding a nasty bassline and Eastern-inspired instrumentation to explore the risqué joys of public lust. Her first new project since 2022’s High My Name IsSELLOUT is available everywhere via Raedio/Def Jam.

SELLOUT is me stepping into a light that I’ve wanted to dance in for a long time,” says Jae Stephens. “I had so much fun making this project and my hope is that everyone who listens will feel the same confident, carefree energy come through each song the same way I did while writing them!”

With SELLOUT, Jae Stephens delivers on her limitless potential, unlocking a new sound and establishing herself as one of R&B’s vital voices for 2024 and years to come.

54. HUGEL & Diplo ft. Malou & Yuna – Forever

Source:HUGEL

Two of dance music’s heavy hitters—HUGEL and Diplo—are teaming up for a track that is blowing up the internet as an ID. A joint release between Insomniac Records and Diplo’s Higher Ground, ‘Forever (feat. Malou & Yuna)’ is available worldwide on September 20. HUGEL and Diplo will support “Forever” by playing a show together at Brooklyn Mirage on Sunday, September 22, during the release weekend.

“Forever” is a breathtaking afro house single anchored to an iridescent topline about sharing an eternal connection with a first love. Ebbing and flowing around the heart-melting delivery, the track glides along wistful circular piano chords, rolling tribal drums, vibrant percussive accents, and deep basslines. The song has generated significant buzz online pre-release and was used in this Reels post of Diplo scaling Mt. Fuji, which has received over 4.6M views.

“This original version of ‘Forever’ (by Adventure Club) was the anthem of Ultra Music Festival 2014, which was also my first time performing at the festival in Miami. This track has stayed with me over the years and holds a lot of memories around this moment. So, when I was looking for a new sample, I realized no one had produced a house track version of this song, so I decided I
would be the one to do it. While Diplo and I send each other music all the time, Malou actually first introduced the demo to him during a studio session they were doing together. I then sent him my first version of the song, which he tested out during his Antarctic set – the response was big, so many people were asking about the track. From there, we worked through a couple of modifications, and now it’s ready to share with the world,” HUGEL says.

Revered as the instigator of the Latin House movement with his hit “Morenita”, HUGEL has earned global recognition for his category-blurring, sultry compositions that command movement. Drawing inspiration from his Mediterranean upbringing and time spent in the
Balearic Islands and Ibiza, HUGEL masterfully blends Latin, Oriental, and tribal rhythms to create a distinct sound uniquely in a category of its own. Since bursting onto the scene in 2015, the serial chart-topper has amassed an international following and over 1 Billion cumulative streams for his widely adored releases ranging from “Marianela (Que Pasa)” and “Morenita,” to
his recent viral rework of LATIN MAFIA’s “Patadas de Ahogado.”

Diplo is a multi-Grammy winning artist known for his era-defining labels Mad Decent and Higher Ground, his house imprint launched in 2019 that has spawned dozens of Billboard Dance/Electronic hits and sold-out parties all over the world. Following their first collaboration “Stay High,” Diplo and HUGEL reunite to answer their fans’ wishes with the release of their highly anticipated collaboration, “Forever,” which has been generating buzz since Diplo teasedthe track in a livestream recorded in Antarctica during his expedition there last year.

Accompanying HUGEL and Diplo on this bonafide smash are Malou & Yuna. Malou is a singer/songwriter from LA who has become a hot ticket in dance music, leaving her stamp on progressive house, melodic house & techno, trance, bass, and beyond (releases with Ben
Böhmer, Reinier Zonneveld, Jan Blomqvist, Giuseppe Ottaviani). Based out of LA, Yuna is an R&B and soulful pop artist whose silky vocals have graced tracks from some of the biggestnames in dance (previous tracks with ZHU, Adventure Club, Ekali, Big Wild).

55. Nessa Barrett – Dirty Little Secret

Source:Nessa Barrett

Today, breakout alt-pop artist Nessa Barrett releases her hotly anticipated new single “DIRTY LITTLE SECRET.” Listen HERE via Warner Records and watch the video HERE

Defiant yet vulnerable, Barrett once again showcases her insightful songwriting and signature sultry pop sound. Following the smoldering “PASSENGER PRINCESS,” this haunting new anthem is another tantalizing taste of her upcoming sophomore album AFTERCARE.

“‘DIRTY LITTLE SECRET” is one of my favorite moments on the album because it represents an empowered woman knowing her worth and putting a man in his place,” Barrett says of the track. “It doesn’t always have to be about love, sometimes you just want to own your femininity. I hope this song empowers other women to feel confident, sexy, and hot!”

It’s another milestone for an artist on the rise. Earlier this month, Barrett was announced as the face of the relaunch of Cheap Monday’s denim line.

This summer, Barrett joined Lana Del Rey on stage at Hangout Festival, where the duo performed Barrett’s fan-favorite 2023 single “american jesus,” from her celebrated hell is teenage girl EP. Last year also saw her release “girl in new york,” the heartfelt “club heaven,” and her pulse-pounding collaboration with Whethan, “sick of myself.” Shortly after, she hit the road for her fully sold-out church club for the lonely tour, which included two main stage performances at Austin City Limits Festival.

After being named as one of Billboard’s “21 Under 21” twice — as well as being featured on Forbes’ “Top Creators: Fashion 50,” Uproxx’s “Next Hitmakers List,” People Magazine’s “Emerging Artist List,” and Ones to Watch’s list of “25 Artists to Watch in 2022” — Nessa Barrett has gone on to accumulate nearly 2 billion global streams to date. In 2022, she was also nominated for Push Performance of the Year at the MTV VMAs, performed at When We Were Young Festival, and took her show on the road for her sold out North American and European tours in support of her acclaimed debut album young forever.

With the release of “DIRTY LITTLE SECRET,” Barrett delivers another exhilarating pop anthem with edge and emotion.

56. Alemeda – FK IT

Alt-pop Ethiopian-Sudanese sensation Alemeda makes a bold entrance into the mainstream, unveiling her highly anticipated major-label debut EP, FK IT. Released through a powerhouse partnership between Warner Records and Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE), the project includes the emotionally charged new single “I already dug your grave.” Listen to FK IT [HERE].

“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Alemeda to the Warner Records family. She’s an electrifying artist with a unique voice and vision, and ‘FK IT’ is just the beginning of what will be an extraordinary journey,” says Aaron Bay-Schuck, co-Chairman & CEO, Warner Records. “Her ability to channel her personal experiences into raw, boundary-pushing music makes her a perfect fit for our roster. Tom (Corson), Karen (Kwak), and our entire team are thrilled to be joining forces with Top Dawg Entertainment to bring Alemeda’s innovative artistry to an even wider audience. Collaborating with TDE’s exceptional team only amplifies our excitement for this groundbreaking partnership.”

Top Dawg Entertainment, known for shaping some of the biggest names in music, also expressed excitement about their first major alt-pop signing. “I’m excited to welcome Alemeda to the team and introduce her to the world. She’s an amazing artist, and I’m proud of the way she’s developed. Can’t wait to see what the game has in store for her,” says Anthony “Top” Tiffith, Founder & CEO, Top Dawg Entertainment.

“It’s been a pleasure to watch the growth and development of Alemeda over the past four years. I’m excited to introduce her to our roster with her debut EP,” shares Moosa Tiffith, President, Top Dawg Entertainment.

The 8-track FK IT EP kicks off with the punchy and melodically soaring “I hate your face,” a masterclass in Alemeda’s knack for crafting hypnotic choruses. The project dives deep into themes of empowerment, heartbreak, and self-discovery, with other standout tracks like “Guy’s Girl,” a sharp, introspective take on friendships, and the anthemic “Below The Belt,” a pop-punk ode to standing strong in the face of adversity.

Also on the project is the standout track, “I already dug your grave,” which was recently featured in a COLORS performance and has already generated major buzz for its intense emotional delivery and genre-defying production.

Rolling Stone recently highlighted Alemeda as “one to watch,” noting that FK IT marks “the arrival of an artist who’s unafraid to push boundaries while delivering undeniable pop hits.”

With FK IT, Alemeda stands poised to make a lasting mark on pop culture. “This EP is the truest expression of who I am right now,” Alemeda shares. “It’s about letting go of what doesn’t serve me and embracing the chaos and beauty of being real, unapologetically.”

57. SkyeChristy – Boysober

Source:SkyeChristy

Buzzing Los Angeles sister duo SkyeChristy return with an intoxicating new single “Boysober” – out now on Warner Records. Listen HERE. It notably marks their first release of 2024 and paves the way for more to come.

On the track, ghostly keys murmur beneath breathy vocal harmonies. Once again, SkyeChristy’s poetically plainspoken lyrics strike a chord. Wrestling with relationship ups and downs, the pair’s dreamy vocals practically melt into the hazy soundscape as a confessional chorus takes hold, “Twelve steps, I’m a little bit closer, but not quite Boysober.”

The track is the group’s latest since the 2023 release of “Blue Boy” and their debut The Summer I Lost My Lover EP, which picked up plugs from the likes of Billboard, HITS, and more. In support of the project, they toured alongside JVKE and Manchester Orchestra.

The sister duo is a sonic union of Georgia Christy Edwards and Sophie Skye Edwards. The Los Angeles natives began writing and recording music together in high school. They honed their voices in choir, even performing at Carnegie Hall as part of their school ensemble choir. Since 2020, they’ve unlocked the power of their familial harmony and have captivated fans around the globe. With their distinct signature sound and forthcoming debut project, the SkyeChristy’s bond will only grow stronger.

58. The Blessed Madonna ft. Shaun J. Wright & Kon – Secretariat

Source:The Blessed Madonna

Today, The Blessed Madonna releases her new track “Secretariat,” featuring Shaun J. Wright & KON — the latest taste of her long-awaited debut album, Godspeed. Listen to “Secretariat” HERE.

Following hot on the heels of club anthem and album centerpiece “Edge Of Saturday Night” with Kylie Minogue, “Secretariat” sees The Blessed Madonna collaborate with two US underground kingpins;  Chicago-based DJ/producer, live vocalist and Twirl Records co-head, Shaun J. Wright, and fabled DJ, remixer and crate-digger, KON.

“Secretariat was a Triple Crown winning horse that captivated the world and ran in a way that exceeded all other horses”, says The Blessed Madonna. “Upon his death, the doctors treating him examined him to see what it was about his body that made him different and when they opened his giant rib cage, inside it was a vastly oversized heart. Put simply, his engine, his heart, was bigger than anything anyone had seen. I was moved by the life and death of this Kentucky hero and so when it came time to write the first song on this album eight years ago, my hands found the chords that would become the basis of the song and through the grace of Shaun and Amy and the House Gospel choir, and of course Kon, we found the great big heart of this record.”

“‘Secretariat’ is about knowing you were born to do a thing, no matter if there is an end to it”, she continues. “It is about learning to live with a heart so large that it feels monstrous. It is about running towards your destiny and conquering it without remorse.”

Lifted from her 24-track debut LP Godspeed and debuted live at The Blessed Madonna’s album leak party at Smartbar in Chicago earlier this month, “Secretariat” also offers up another bespoke artwork piece by acclaimed bootleggers, Sports Banger, who are overseeing the album’s creative direction and visual narrative.

59. Rett Madison – Everywhere

Source:Rett Madison

Today, Los Angeles-based vocalist, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Rett Madison shares a brand new cover of the 1987 Fleetwood Mac classic “Everywhere” out now via Warner Records/War Buddha Records. Listen HERE and watch the music video HERE. On October 25, she will unveil One More For Jackie as an expanded Digital Deluxe Edition of her acclaimed 2023 full-length, One For Jackie, in celebration of the LP’s one-year anniversary. One More For Jackie features the original album, now accompanied by four additional tracks, including “Everywhere.” Pre-save HERE.

Rett Madison explains why the track means so much to her. “My mom introduced me to many of my favorite bands and artists that I still love listening to this day. One of those bands was Fleetwood Mac. We’d listen to their “Greatest Hits” album whenever we’d make the hour and a half long drive to visit my grandmother. On those trips, I often would ask her to play “Everywhere”, or in my own words as a kid “The Magic Song”, over and over again. We really bonded over that song and whenever I hear it I always think of my mom.”

She strips down “Everywhere” to its emotional core with a reverent reinvention. The track’s percussive groove pulsates like a steady heartbeat through glimmers of soft acoustic guitar. Rett’s delicate vocals echo as she exhales, “You know that I’ve fallen and I don’t know what to say.” Meanwhile, the immortal hook immediately captivates, “I wanna be with you everywhere.” The visual highlights the rising star at a photo shoot as she dons a series of stunning looks. It captures her in the midst of an intimate and honest moment without any emotional filter.

This year, she set the stage for One More For Jackie by unveiling “Kiki (Rett’s Take)” and “Apocalyptic Folk Song.” It also boasts a new song entitled “Head On,” which she originally recorded during the One For Jackie sessions.

Rett will return to the road this Fall. First, she joins 4x Grammy nominated band The Fray as direct support, beginning on September 27 at Lincoln Theatre in Washington, DC. This jaunt treks across the country and back before coming to a close on October 20 at Brooklyn Bowl in Nashville, TN. Next up, she spends 10 days on tour with The Crane Wives. This particular segment launches on October 24 at Brooklyn Bowl in Las Vegas, NV, canvases the West Coast, and concludes on November 3 in Sacramento, CA at Ace Of Spades. Check out the full confirmed itinerary below and get tickets HERE.

During a three-day stint in Nashville, TN for Americanafest, she will play the Little Saint Party at Estelle on September 19 before opening for Liv Greene at Dee’s Cocktail Lounge that evening, in addition to headlining the Official Showcase at The Basement on September 21. A few weeks later, she will grace the bill of Austin City Limits Festival in Austin, TX and join Medium Build for his official ACL Nights show at Scoot Inn on October 5.

Madison has continued to incite tastemaker applause. A Book Of featured her on its digital cover and attested, “Rett Madison, artist on the rise and a deeply emotive singer-songwriter known for her poignant lyrics and captivating blend of folk, rock, Americana and soul is making waves in the contemporary music scene with her heartfelt storytelling and powerful vocal performances.”

Keeping busy this year, she just performed a string of shows alongside John Darnielle of The Mountain Goats and Bailen, in addition to a headline tour throughout the Midwest. In February, she notably graced the stage of Carnegie Hall at The Piano Recital with Mandy Moore, Margo Price, Meg Duffy, and others.

In 2023, she delivered her acclaimed album One for Jackie, featuring lead singles “One for Jackie, One for Crystal,” “Skydiving” and “Fortune Teller.” Watch Madison’s performance of standout “Flea Market” on Late Night with Seth Meyers HERE. She also appeared on CBS Saturday Morning/Saturday Sessions for an interview and multi-song performance, in addition to being spotlighted in a Mixtape Moments segment on CBS This Morning.

60. Nobu Woods – SPLIT

Source:Nobu Woods

Rising alt-R&B singer Nobu Woods releases his standout new single “SPLIT.” Listen HERE via Second Estate Records / Warner Records. The uptempo banger captures the breakup blues while also beckoning hips to shake via a club-friendly four-on-the-floor rhythm. Although very much a newcomer, the dizzying track displays Woods’ veteran-like knack for crafting production and vocal melodies that defy expectations.

“You put up with me for eternities, now I let you be so you really see,” Woods croons over ethereal tones. “They gon’ make you bleed, that’s just how it be.” That leads to the hypnotic chorus: “Go be free, free, free.” Mournful yet defiant, “SPLIT” is a formidable calling card from the Queens native, whose star has just begun to rise.

“SPLIT” arrives with a visualizer that captures the raw emotions of a breakup, highlighting the distance and tension between two people as they navigate their feelings. Watch HERE.

The new single arrives weeks after Woods made his major-label debut with the release of “SAVIOR,” putting on display his dynamic, insightful songwriting and immersive hooks. The central tenets of alt-R&B are ambitious, unconventional productions and next-level showmanship — qualities which Woods has in spades.

Prior to signing with Warner Records, Woods rolled out his EP MIDNIGHT MOTIONS in the winter of 2023, which included tracks like “TWENTY NIGHTS” and “TOO INVOLVED.” To date, the EP has amassed over 13 million streams on Spotify alone. It was preceded by his first-ever EP, IRIS, in 2022, which introduced the brooding, magnetic sound he continues to perfect.

Now, with “SPLIT,” Woods offers fans another side of his music and his personality — a blistering dance track with heart and emotion.

61. 2Rare ft. Lakeyah & Ann Marie – Heartbeat

Today, Philadelphia’s 2Rare unveils the seductively slick music video for his new single “Heartbeat” featuring Lakeyah and Ann Marie. Watch HERE. Listen HERE via Second Estate/Warner Records.

The cinematic visual unfolds with a series of big screen-worthy twists and turns. It opens with 2Rare in the lap of luxury, performing poolside surrounded by models. However, his good fortune doesn’t last. A plot by unappreciated housekeepers takes hold as 2Rare hallucinates until we find out the truth. Of course, Lakeyah and Ann Marie make showstopping cameos of their own.

He initially dropped “Heartbeat” last week. Right out of the gate, it garnered critical acclaim. Beyond plugs from HipHopDXDirty Glove Bastard, and more, XXL applauded it among “The 13 Best New Hip-Hop Songs This Week.”

“Heartbeat” comes on the heels of 2Rare’s aspirational track “Congratulationz.” That was preceded by his similarly addictive single “C4” featuring Skilla Baby and Rob49. He also featured on the remix release of Gracie’s Corner’s “Veggie Dance,” which amassed over 2 million streams in three days.

Prior to that, 2Rare cranked up the voltage at Rolling Loud in Los Angeles, flaunting his customary showmanship while diving into his catalog, starting 2024 off right. Last year, he was named a 2023 XXL Freshman and appeared on NLE Choppa’s “Do It Again,” which has already gone RIAA Certified Gold.
