We got an exciting announcement from Hartbeat this week (October 31st). The global entertainment company at the intersection of comedy and culture shared that it has entered into an agreement with digital sports entertainment and gaming company DraftKings Inc. to launch “Bet!” – a new sports and pop culture podcast with a unique twist.
Hosted by familiar faces Desus Nice (Desus & Mero, Bodega Boys) and Scottie Beam (Okay, Now Listen, The Scottie and Sylvia Show), “Bet!” “Bet!” brings an interactive edge to discussions on the biggest sports and entertainment moments. Starting today, fans can tune in to the first episode, where Desus and Scottie put their cultural expertise and competitive spirits to the test with dynamic conversations, pop culture predictions, sports insights, and more.
“There’s a lot of pundits and so-called experts throwing out their opinions, but how many actually get to see their predictions put to the test?” said co-host Scottie Beam. “Desus and I aren’t just talking — we’re putting it all on the line, and letting our fans jump in to see who can really back up their predictions.”
With today’s launch, fans can join the fun by entering various free-to-play pools available on the DraftKings app, as new episodes drop. Listeners can look forward to lively discussions about film, music, sports, and more, including predictions on whether Wicked or Gladiator II will top the box office, which surprises await us in the upcoming seasons of The Real Housewives franchise, and if Grammy nods for Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” could spell the end for Drake this year.
“DraftKings is constantly exploring new and creative ways to engage with our customers on a deeper level,” said DraftKings Chief Marketing Officer, Stephanie Sherman. “We are excited to work with Hartbeat on Bet! and give listeners a cutting-edge podcast series that lives at the intersection of sports and culture.”
“Bet!” is the newest addition to Hartbeat’s expanding portfolio of original audio content, joining hit series like Gold Minds with Kevin Hart, One Song with Diallo Riddle and Luxxury, and Petty Crimes with Ceara Jane O’Sullivan and Griff Stark-Ennis.
The series is executive produced by Eric Eddings, Lesley Gwam, and Tina Maher, with Alex Duckworth serving as producer. Jeremy Benbow and Tyree Rush from Hartbeat took on associate producer responsibilities.
