This week (January 14th), fans worldwide were surprised with the official trailer of the upcoming biographical crime drama film The Alto Knights. Continue reading to check out the compelling preview and to find out when the highly anticipated film will hit theaters.

Warner Bros. Pictures’ The Alto Knights stars legendary Academy Award winner Robert De Niro in a dual role. The film follows two of New York’s most notorious organized crime bosses, Frank Costello and Vito Genovese (both played by De Niro), as they vie for control of the city’s streets. Once the best of friends, petty jealousies and a series of betrayals place them on a deadly collision course that will reshape the Mafia (and America) forever. The nearly two and a half minute trailer sets an eerie tone for what is sure to be a power struggle, as De Niro masterfully manages portraying the two key figures of the story.

In addition to De Niro, the film also stars Debra Messing (Will & Grace), Cosmo Jarvis (Shotgun), Kathrine Narducci (The Irishman), Michael Rispoli (Billions), Michael Adler (Peppermint), Ed Amatrudo (Till, Nashville), Joe Bacino (Kick-Ass), Anthony J. Gallo (The Irishman), Wallace Langham (Ford v Ferrari), Louis Mustillo (Cooper’s Bar, Mike & Molly), Frank Piccirillo, Matt Servitto (Billions) and Robert Uricola (Raging Bull).

The Alto Knights was written by Oscar nominee Nicholas Pileggi (Goodfellas) and directed by Academy Award-winning filmmaker Barry Levinson (Dopesick). Oscar winner Irwin Winkler (Rocky, Goodfellas) produced the film alongside Levinson, Jason Sosnoff, Charles Winkler and David Winkler, with Mike Drake executive producing.

Although the film won’t be in theaters until March 21st, we’re so lucky to have gotten the trailer. Check it out below along with some first look images from the new movie.
