A second survivor who testified in R Kelly’s federal sexual abuse case took the stand Tuesday, August 24, 2021, and revealed the singer has at least one male victim.
The survivor, who is anonymously referred to as Jane Doe in court documents, testified that Kelly had at least one male victim who the R&B legend called “Nephew” and forced her to have sex with.
Doe said the singer hit her and two other women for breaking a rule and then sent her to a hotel room for additional punishment.
“He said that I was the closest to him and I should’ve known better,” Doe said, according to a report by The Huffington Post. “He said he had been grooming ‘Nephew’ since he was young like me,” she told jurors, noting that R Kelly told her “not to embarrass him” and wanted her to sexually please Nephew like she did Kelly.
Doe said the R&B singer arrived at the hotel room with Nephew, who was naked before he took his clothes off as well. The singer starts filming Nephew and Doe having sex while instructing the two on what to do to one another.
Prosecutors asked Doe if she wanted to have sex with Nephew, to which she responded, “Never,” adding later in her testimony that “it was punishment.”
Doe told the court she was forced to have sex with Nephew multiple times during her five-year relationship with Kelly. It is not clear where or when these alleged incidents took place.
Doe met R Kelly in 2015 at one of his concerts when she was seventeen years old and he was forty-eight years old. She is the second victim to take the stand in the federal case against the singer who is facing ten years to life in prison for the charges.
Kelly has denied all criminal allegations against him. In 2008, he was acquitted of child pornography charges.
