BLK, the leading dating and lifestyle app for the Black community, is teaming up with When We All Vote, a national initiative founded by Michelle Obama, to launch the #ElectionSZN Initiative. Read more about their collaboration inside.

BLK’s partnership with ‘When We All Vote’ is a dynamic campaign designed to mobilize the Black community to vote in the upcoming election.

When We All Vote aims to transform voting culture and boost participation by addressing race and age gaps. With support from Co-Chairs like Stephen Curry and Kerry Washington, the initiative empowers communities to engage in the electoral process. Furthermore, the partnership with BLK seeks to drive voter engagement within the Black community.

Over the next three months, the #ElectionSZN Initiative will introduce several key elements to motivate Black singles to vote:

  1. Black Voter Perspectives on Kamala Harris Survey: Kicking off the campaign, BLK will release a survey on Black voters’ views on Kamala Harris running for president. This survey will explore opinions on her candidacy, her impact on politics, and her potential presidency’s significance for the Black community.
  2. BLK x When We All Vote Voter Registration Portal: This dedicated portal at www.weall.vote/blk will streamline the registration process for Black singles, making it easier and more accessible.
  3. “How You Vote Determines How You Date” Survey: This unique survey will examine the link between dating preferences and voting behavior, fostering discussions about voting’s importance within the Black community.
  4. New In-App Voting Prompts: To honor National Black Voter Registration Day on September 17, BLK will introduce in-app voting prompts to encourage dialogue about voting and critical issues.
  5. BLK “Election Mode” Feature: This feature includes a sticker pack that allows users to match based on voting preferences and issues.
  6. Localized Push Notifications: BLK will provide geo-targeted push notifications with updates on key races, voting deadlines, and essential election information.
  7. Power the Polls Partnership: BLK is collaborating with Power the Polls to encourage users to become poll workers, ensuring smooth and fair elections.

“We are thrilled to partner with When We All Vote again for the #ElectionSZN initiative,” said Jonathan Kirkland, Head of Brand and Marketing at BLK. “Voting is crucial for our community to exercise their power and drive meaningful change. This campaign reminds our users that their vote is their voice.

Historically, the Black community has faced significant barriers regarding voting. Through these challenges, Black Americans have fought tirelessly for their right to vote. By participating in elections, young Black voters can influence policies that impact their communities, ensuring their voices are heard and their interests represented.
