2. J. Brown – Just A Matter Of Time
Source:Music By J.Brown
J. Brown is set to release his highly anticipated third studio album, “JUST A MATTER OF TIME”, a masterful blend of soul, vulnerability, and raw emotion.
“TRUE LOVE,” a soul-stirring anthem of devotion and resilience. “Even if I’m the last man on the battlefield, I’ll fight for True Love,” J. Brown passionately declares. The track is a tribute to everyone who has ever stood tall for love—despite the odds, the wounds, and the battles. With gripping lyrics and undeniable passion, “True Love” reminds us all that love, in its purest form, is worth every struggle.
The emotional visuals for the song were brought to life by Director, Michael Vaughn Hernandez. The inspiration behind the video for True Love lies in the resilience and devotion that comes with fighting for a deep and unwavering connection. The lyrics tell the story of a man who refuses to give up despite challenges, heartbreak, and fear. The visual concept reflects this unwavering commitment, portraying love as a battlefield where the ultimate prize is not victory but connection, healing, and unity.
J. Brown reflects on his creative journey for this project: “I wanted to create an album where I was in a space of total creativity. When Carvin Haggins GRAMMY® Award winning Producer & Songwriter Will Smith, Jill Scott, and Musiq Soulchild called and suggested we get back in the studio, we dove deep into honest conversations in music—something I feel is missing in today’s R&B. Together with Carvin and his team, TheRing, we spent seven months crafting the right concepts, tackling real-life topics, and capturing the essence of love, pain, and growth.” “Are You Still Mad” explores universal relationship tension with heartfelt authenticity. With lyrics like “It’s been eight days, I gave space, I hate to fight with you, can we call a truce?” the song captures the ebb and flow of love’s emotional battles, resonating with anyone who has ever navigated the complexities of connection.
J. Brown also teamed up with the extraordinary Elijah Blake, a longtime collaborator, and producer, Roark Bailey. He has produced hits for Saweetie, Summer Walker, Kanye West, and Chris Brown, who brought him the poignant track “MAH DEAR.” With its nostalgic undertones reminiscent of Sam Cooke, the song is a heartfelt homage to timeless soul, delivering a fresh and familiar sound. The album’s title, “Just A Matter Of Time”, wasn’t a calculated choice but an organic revelation. “As the project came together, it became clear that this was a story of the highs and lows of love—a man’s journey of wanting, finding, and sometimes losing it. Naming the album Just A Matter Of Time just felt right, and I promise it will resonate deeply with listeners.”
With this new album, J. Brown invites fans to witness his evolution—not just as an artist, but as a man. “Just A Matter Of Time” is a soulful and heartfelt chronicle of love, growth, and resilience, promising to captivate listeners and cement J. Brown’s place as a leading voice in modern R&B. Prepare to be moved to the perfect blend of sound from the past greats of Philadelphia International Records and the Motown movement.
“Just A Matter Of Time” will make its introduction to the masses on the day celebrated by lovers across the globe, Valentine’s Day.

4. Mo Lowda & the Humble – Canary
Source:Mo Lowda & the Humble
Today, Philadelphia-based indie rock quartet Mo Lowda & the Humble announce their spirited, sweeping fifth studio album Tailing The Ghost due out June 20 and available for pre-save now. Recorded entirely on the road across America’s most scenic settings, the spellbinding LP promises to be the band’s most commanding, cohesive body of work yet. The project’s first taste arrives today with “Canary,” out now–a melodic, atmospheric tune that sinks into the nerves of a promising new love alongside its matching vibrant animated music video.
Alongside the big news, the group announces a lengthy North American tour this summer and fall, with support from French Cassettes and Illiterate Light and a slew of festival appearances at Boston Calling, Green River and more. See a full list of dates below and find tickets this Friday, February 14 via molowda.com.
The highly anticipated forthcoming fifth studio album, Tailing The Ghost, was written fully on the road with four members setting up their instrument stations in a circle, facing each other and working through the arrangements in real time between home-cooked meals, poker games, and movie viewings. Breathtaking views in Joshua Tree, Lake Travis, TX, Colorado and Tennessee inspired its magnetic sound–the arrangements vary from sparse and spacious like the California desert, glistening like various lakes to lush and sweeping like the Rocky Mountains–taking on the energy of the environments in which they were created.
Jeff Lucci (bass, guitar, keyboard, vocals) explains, “More spontaneity, gut and sense of self assurance was embodied in my approach to writing and recording this record than any other.” The album captures who they each were in the moment, fleeting and on the move, which pushed them to record tightly and quickly. Lucci adds, “It inspired confidence–the cocktail of quickly writing something and recording it rid the band of self-doubt.” The warmth of their true camaraderie is heard in the gang vocals throughout, and each melody lingers long after each track ends.
Written on a fan-gifted Canary Yellow custom Fender Telecaster and recorded while looking out at the vast Joshua Tree desert, “Canary” delves into the uncertainty of a potential new relationship. Propelled by an irresistible guitar riff and repetitive groove, Jordan Caiola (lead vocals, guitar, bass) says, “It focuses on the struggle of allowing oneself to fully open up, let it naturally unfold & trust the trajectory–something the narrator has previously (unsuccessfully) grappled with.” On its special instrumentation and sound, Lucci adds, “I used a baritone to play fingerstyle parts that cover the low end pretty nicely, and the bridge has a kind of electronic feel by using some guitar pedal trickery.” The accompanying eye-catching animated music video by Taras Merenkov captures the hypnotic nature of both the track and blend of nervousness and excitement of something new.
The highly energetic, unmatched live show will grace stages across the U.S. and Canada beginning with Boston Calling in May and will move through Chicago, Vancouver, Seattle, Austin, Los Angeles, Nashville, and conclude in their home city of Philadelphia in November.
Born out of the house show scene in Philadelphia, Mo Lowda & the Humble shared their first album, Curse The Weather in 2013, and have been non-stop ever since–vigorously playing over 90 shows a year. Remaining fully independent, the group have garnered millions of streams across platforms and boasts over 350K listeners on Spotify alone. The quartet has captivated audiences nationally and internationally and have solidified veteran festival status regularly playing Firefly, Peach Fest, Mountain Jam and more. Now, the band is ready to ascend to the next level with an assertive album that showcases their singular chemistry, masterful instrumentation and unparalleled blend of precision and spontaneity.
Mo Lowda & the Humble’s lush guitar-driven new single “Canary” is out now. Their sincere, robust fifth studio album Tailing The Ghost is due out June 20 and available for pre-save now. Don’t miss the lively quartet live this summer and fall across North America with tickets on sale this Friday, February 14 via molowda.com. Keep up with all things Mo Lowda & the Humble on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube and stay tuned for much more to come from the bonafide rockers.
5. J French – On On & On
Source:J French
On the heels of the indie success from his seventh studio album Church the Mixtape, Dallas, Texas-based, multi-instrumentalist, and producer J French has released his new single “On & On.” Inspired by a display of human decency during a brief encounter with Drake’s father outside the recent Grammy Awards ceremony amid arguably the biggest Rap feud in history, French wrote the new song about the importance of unity and positivity. “I’ve always been a bigger fan of Kendrick’s than I ever was of Drake’s”, French explains. “But upon briefly meeting Drake’s father after an incident outside of the GRAMMYs, it vindicated my understanding of the importance of recognizing people’s humanity, and the power of unity and positivity.” Today, French shares the song’s Seer Wilson-directed music video. Shot in LA and co-directed by French, the simple yet stylish visuals reflect the song’s reliance on the bare essentials of a beloved, bygone era in Hip-Hop. With a sampled sax riff, stirring violins, and a sparse instrumental originally produced by Matt Monaco, French reconstructed the beat and made it anew.
“Matt Monaco sent me an original beat that I remade with a ‘Boom-Bap’ feel, going back to the essence of what makes [Hip-Hop] so potent. The title ‘On on & On’ refers to the evolution and revolution of the world, and the fact that things often come full circle.” – J French

12. guccihighwaters – DESIRE
Source:guccihighwaters
Today, guccihighwaters–the moniker of mastermind artistMorgan Murphy–announceshisnewalbum‘DEATH BY DESIRE’ out May 30th via Epitaph Records.
Emerging from the late2016/2017 emo-rap scene that once dominated SoundCloud, Murphy’s third record marks a sonic evolution. He seamlessly integrates iridescent pop elements to showcase a matured take on his signature darkR&B style. Discussing the no-holds-barred approach he took with DEATH BY DESIRE, the artist explains,“I usually tend to hold back on certain themes/topics, but with this album I didn’t.If DESIRE comes across as toxic/heartless it’s because it is. It’s a story from a dark time when the only thing I could see was shit that was bad for me. I always say, “You’re lucky ifyou can’t relate”, but to those who do, you’ll feel it.”
Lyrically, guccihighwaters dives deeper than ever before in the new record, embracing a raw and honest style that leaves no emotional stone unturned. “DEATH BY DESIRE is about the dark side of things that are seen as bad or sinful—lust, greed, jealousy,” he says. “I wanted to showcase what the dark side of being an artist can be.In the past, I hadn’t really dipped into that aspect of myself too much, but for this record I wanted to get everything out there—even the bad feelings.”
In the years following his sophomore record ‘joke’s on you’(2021),the multi-talented artist found himself at a total standstill. After bouncing between sessions with various producers and songwriters, he felt increasingly disconnected from his own work. 16. Tony Kamel – We’re All Gonna Live
Source:Tony Kamel
Variations of the lyric “We’re all gonna die” appear in many of the ten tracks of Tony Kamel’s upcoming album, but nothing about it is a bummer of a listen. In fact, the opposite effect works its magic as Kamel’s view of the world unfolds throughout the Houston-born artist’s sophomore effort. “Life is a big beautiful fight to the death,” he says. “Not a single one of us is left unscathed along the way.” Knowing that truth freed up the GRAMMY-nominated songwriter to look morality in the eye and have a good time in spite of it.
On April 18th, Kamel will release We’re All Gonna Live on Blue Corn Music, the cover of which sees its leading man battered and beat up but wearing a sly grin. “Each tune on We’re All Gonna Live is essentially a story about an inevitable struggle of one kind or another, but I tried to focus on the positive parts of those struggles,” he says. The literal interpretation of the album art—and most of the content of the music itself—is derived from a quote from Kamel’s grandmother Dolores: “Eventually, life starts to knock you around. You have to be ready to fight with a smile.” The songs find their optimistic, hopeful, and even celebratory tone in the face of difficulty because of her words. “Her wisdom taught me to go through the darkness and feel it head on until a light appears, then go towards that light no matter how dim it may seem,” says Kamel. “Finding that light is how I fight, how I grow.”
Like his solo debut, Back Down Home, We’re All Gonna Live was recorded live in one room over the course of a few sessions at The Bunker, Bruce Robison’s all-analog studio in Lockhart, Texas. Produced jointly by Kamel and Robison, Kamel’s goal of capturing the sound of a smaller, replicable sound was achieved by bringing together four of Texas’s finest musicians and not much more. Noah Jeffires, Cameron Owens, Kym Warner, and Josh Blue back Kamel organically and instinctively, latching onto the feelings that emanate from the characters of We’re All Gonna Live.
Today, Kamel shared a deeper look into those characters from his already-released single, “We’re All Gonna Live,” with an intimate, in-studio music video featuring a lone clawhammer banjo under the voices of Kamel and Jenn Hodges. Her music isn’t just a listening experience, it’s a feeling.”
“Slow Motion” was produced by Mike Elizondo (Twenty One Pilots, Nelly Furtado) and Jake Gosling (Ed Sheeran, James Bay). It arrived on the heels of the standout “(Isn’t It) Obvious,” which featured a guitar solo from John Mayer. The latter has already generated millions of streams and counting in addition to earning critical praise. On “feral,” skai bares their truth with silky vocals, navigating the tension of a toxic but magnetic relationship over dreamy production by t.y.jake. “wolf ft. RADA,” dives into a fast-paced, hedonistic lifestyle where love, money, and substances blur together, finding skai searching for meaning in fleeting highs. British singer RADA’s vocals bring depth before the track culminates in a thumping electro beat. #mia closes with the title track, “manicinamerica,” a raw, poetic reckoning with obsession, addiction, and self-destruction. Though the production gives the feeling of a peaceful movie ending, the song’s lyrics hint at a less idealistic, more haunting reality. Manic in America is a bold, boundary-pushing ride, showcasing skaiwater at their most unapologetic and electrifying.
2024 marked a breakout year for the Nottingham native, with the release of #gigi, an album that earned critical acclaim and solidified skaiwater’ s place as one of the year’s most compelling artists. #gigi was named The FADER’s “Album of the Year” and earned spots on numerous “Best of 2024” lists, including those from Rolling Stone, Complex, and Pitchfork. #gigi features several standout tracks, including “light!” with Lil Nas X and produced by 9lives, a poignant exploration of young love and hidden toxicity; “bleach,” a dynamic blend of energetic rap and smooth vocals showcasing skai’s resilience and vulnerability; and “wna Torture Me Tn?” featuring rising Atlanta rapper Karrahbooo. Source:Maddie Regent – Topic
New York City-based indie-pop artist Maddie Regent reveals her hauntingly beautiful new single, “Turtleneck,” from her upcoming debut album, On the phone with my mom, out May 16th.

“TEN” follows a pair of end-of-year gifts: Offset’s surprise Juice WRLD collab “Celebration” — from the legend’s final posthumous album The Party Never Ends — and his hypnotic solo single “Swing My Way,” which inspired The Source to attest that “Offset’s confidence radiates.” Billboard noted that “Offset is closing out 2024 on a high note.” The song came with a stunning music video directed by Kid Art co-starring supermodel Anok Yai. 29. Toosii – 168 Hours
Source:Toosii
Today, quintuple platinum hitmaker Toosii makes his 2025 return with his new song “168 Hours.” Released via South Coast Music Group/Capitol Records, Toosii’s ferocity and hunger for more are the main ingredients in his latest release, as he pushes his fans to go beyond the 168 hours they’re allocated weekly. “What’s a fish to a piranha / What’s a pup to a dog / What’s a victim to a killer / What’s a baboon to King Kong,” raps Toosii over the soulful arrangement.
“168 Hours” is Toosii’s first release of 2025 after a torrid run in 2024, which consisted of his project JADED and his run on Rod Wave’s sold-out Last Lap Tour. The project included previously released records “Fuk U Mean” and “Champs Élysées” featuring Gunna. Though Toosii’s signature honesty and piercing lyrics were key staples on JADED, his versatility elevated it. Not only did he thrive over Afrobeats on “Fire & Desire,” but he also created concert-ready anthems with “Party Girl Anthems” and “Sticks and Stones.” He also released a nostalgic 2000s anthem, “I Do,” featuring Muni Long.
JADED was Toosii’s first project since his platinum-selling album NAUJOUR, which included his Billboard Hot 100 top five hit record “Favorite Song.” Toosii’s sold-out 2023 headline tour affirmed his status as one of hip-hop’s most in-demand live acts, and he closed out the year playing arenas across the U.S. as one of the opening acts on Rod Wave’s Nostalgia Tour. Billboard said, “Toosii is coming for the crown.” HipHopDX observed, “A leader in the newest generation of artists fusing Hip Hop and R&B, Toosii continues to solidify his burgeoning potential.”
30. Kodak Black – Single Again
Source:Kodak Black
After closing 2024 with his featured-stacked Gift for the Streets mixtape, Kodak Black is on his own with “Single Again,” a heartbreak-themed track dropped just in time for Valentine’s Day. The moving surprise single is part of a 2-song pack that includes the trippier companion piece, “Cluck.” Listen to “Single Again” HERE and “Cluck” HERE via Vulture Love / Capitol Records.
With “Single Again,” Kodak looks back on a relationship that didn’t pan out and lands on an anthem for those riding solo today: “F— it I’m single again, I’m back in the skreets / That relationship s— just ain’t the life for me.” But this isn’t a celebratory moment for the multi-platinum rapper. Over heavy keys and a ghostly R&B sample, he sounds regretful as he blues-croons, “I don’t remember the last time everything was peaceful between us / Everybody see the best in me, so why the f— you just see a cheater?” “Cluck” is the other side of that revelation, finding Kodak caught in a wild swirl of emotions and observations.
The Pompano Beach star has been giving his all to his legions of devoted fans lately, dropping three full-length projects in less than two months at the end of the year. On Christmas Day, Kodak released Gift for the Streets, a star-studded affair featuring Lil Yachty, Veeze, Rob49, Taylor So Made, No Limit Records OG C-Murder, and more, not to mention a partial Hot Boys reunion with Juvenile and BG.
But Kodak season kicked off in November with a pair of mixtapes: the haunted and inward-looking Dieuson Octave, titled after the artist’s actual birth name (see videos for “Catch Fire” and “Versatile 4”), and Trill Bill, which for the most part captured the multifaceted man from a different angle — the “fly, fresh, and foolish” side, to quote Kodak. That one came with singles “News Matt” and “Cyber Truck.”
Before all that, Kodak was focused on his record label Vulture Love’s first official project, Vulture Love Presents: The Last Zombies on Earth, which dropped last summer featuring contributions from VVSNCE, Lil Crix, G6reddot, GorditoFlo, Big Fredo, Jay Dirty, Taji Akeil, and more. Listen HERE.
Kodak’s expansive vision and status transcend rap. Over the years, he’s cultivated the role of a prophetic storyteller and resonant channeller of the culture, and his reach continues to grow. He has over 25 billion global streams to his name and continues to engage in altruism within his beloved Florida community, including over the most recent holiday season via a Pompano toy giveaway and his annual Thanksgiving Kodak’s Turkey Drive, in which Kodak gave out 1,800 turkeys in honor of the 1800 block he grew up on.

32. Cautious Clay – No Champagne (6am)
Source:Cautious Clay
Today, singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Joshua Karpeh aka Cautious Clay
returns with his first single this year, “No Champagne (6am)” via his new home on renowned indie label Concord Records. The track hails the beginning of a new chapter, as he is now represented by Concord Music Publishing, which also acquired his catalog in 2024.
Produced by Cautious and Valley Girl (RAYE, Caroline Polachek, Allie X), “No Champagne” serves as his first offering of the year and is a heartfelt meditation on love’s quiet intensity, featuring warm, ethereal production and intimate lyrics evoking the feeling of love’s push and pull. The accompanying golden-hued visual directed by Travys Owen helps bring to life the track’s intimate essence, reflecting his artistic evolution and personal growth.
Speaking on the song, Cautious shares, “With ‘No Champagne’ I was really trying to set an image around defining the difference between expectation versus reality. Being in a space with someone that you care about and understanding what they want out of a relationship versus what you want out of a relationship and getting to the heart of that.
When we’re at our worst, how are we translating with that person in a room? When there’s no champagne, when there’s no real reason to celebrate – how are you actually connecting to me? How are we actually connecting to each other? I think that’s the heart of it thematically.
In terms of the setting I wanted it to feel like the morning, kind of warm and bright even though the subject matter might not be – I really like that juxtaposition.”
“No Champagne (6am)” follows a sold-out 8-show residency at New York’s legendary Blue Note Jazz Club and builds on the momentum of 2023’s KARPEH, which was praised by Hypebeast, NME and NPR, the latter calling it “exceptional, expansive and beautifully airy”.
Since emerging in 2017, Cautious Clay has been crafting a unique sound that defies boundaries, seamlessly blending pop, alternative R&B, jazz, and indie rock with deeply introspective songwriting. His breakthrough came with 2018’s Blood Type and the standout track “Cold War”, a raw and resonant call for emotional honesty that has since garnered over 150M streams. The song’s reach extended far beyond music, landing in Issa Rae’s HBO hit Insecure, Olivia Wilde’s movie Booksmart, and was reimagined by Taylor Swift and Jack Antonoff on Lover’s “London Boy”.
Beyond his own artistry, Cautious has made his mark as a sought-after songwriter and producer, collaborating with Billie Eilish, John Mayer, John Legend, Khalid, Kavinsky, Melanie Martinez, Remi Wolf, and most recently, Tycho. Following the release of his acclaimed EPs Resonance and Table of Context, he delivered his full-length debut Deadpan Love, in 2021–a nuanced exploration of the complexities of human connection that earned him praise from The New York Times, Rolling Stone, The Fader, PAPER, and more. His 2023 debut KARPEH, saw him reaching new heights, offering a more intentional and sonically rich work – an intimate portrayal of himself, his past and family bold evolution and one that cements his place as a singular voice in modern music as he swiftly moved amidst an intimate portrayal of himself, his past, and family life.
33. Duckwrth – Toxic Romantic
Source:duckwrth
A sonic jolt straight into his most toxic habits, “Toxic Romantic” marks a pivotal moment in the album’s narrative, peeling back the layers of Duckwrth’s romantic recklessness. Over pulsating production (BLK ODYSSY and Two Fresh), his introspective lyricism lays bare his internal battle between self-awareness and indulgence. “I’m so problematic. My baby girl, she can’t stand it”—a line that encapsulates the guilt, selfishness, and thrill that fuel his toxic patterns.
“I’ve been very aware of the bad habits I perpetuate—like entertaining other women while in a relationship—but that awareness didn’t stop me from being selfish in the past,” says Duckwrth.
The official music video captures a battle between two versions of Duckwrth—one chasing reckless temptation, the other fighting for control. Set in the desert, his alter ego speeds through a high-stakes chase, symbolizing his impulsive urges. Flashing between chaos and electrifying performance shots, the video blurs the lines between indulgence and restraint, bringing his internal struggle to life.
With All American F*ckBoy, Duckwrth confronts the generational cycles of trauma that have shaped his relationships. The album will serve as both a confession and a reckoning, exploring themes of infidelity, temptation, loss, mental health, and accountability. At its core, it is a tale of recklessness, redemption, and growth—capturing the painful yet powerful struggle toward self-love. It’s Duckwrth’s most personal work to date.
An international touring sensation, Duckwrth has been on hiatus from touring since 2022. He is now making a highly anticipated comeback with his first headline tour in over two years, with details to be announced soon.

35. Jan Blomqvist – MUTE
Source:Jan Blomqvist
Electronic music pioneer and live-performance virtuoso Jan Blomqvist has released his third studio album, MUTE, an introspective and thought-provoking concept album that merges reflective lyricism with infectious dancefloor energy. MUTE is available now via Jan Blomqvist’s own label, Disconnected, in partnership with long-time collaborator Armada Music, and arrives amidst an eponymous live tour.
The 12-track album was crafted while on tour, where Jan finds his greatest inspiration, and completed in Berlin. This latest work invites listeners to embrace moments of quiet contemplation in an increasingly chaotic world. While his previous album ‘Disconnected’ highlighted the irony of hyperconnectivity, MUTE ventures further, offering a hopeful narrative that traces a journey from sadness and fear to happiness and self-discovery. The album stands as a profound exploration of introspection in a society where noise often eclipses meaningful connection.
“We’re living in a world where listening has become a lost art,” Blomqvist shares. “MUTE is about finding your inner voice amidst all the madness and noise.”
The album boasts captivating tracks like ‘Underwater,’ ‘Destination Lost,’ ‘Muted Mind,’ and ‘Midnight Sun’—each showcasing Blomqvist’s masterful blend of introspection and dancefloor energy. Elevated by collaborations with an impressive roster of artists, including the innovative Rodriguez Jr., rising talent Beobȇ, ethereal vocalist Natasha Polke, and electronic trailblazer Bondi, the album pushes creative boundaries. Longtime lyric collaborator Maybemahri also returns, weaving poignant narratives that delve into the album’s deeply introspective themes, making this a true artistic evolution for Blomqvist.
Beyond the studio and performances at flagship festivals such as Burning Man (the 2024 edition marked his sixth appearance at the festival), MUTE translates seamlessly into an electrifying live experience. Blomqvist’s eponymous live show has already commenced across Europe, already boasting a string of sell-out dates, and is headed to North America through March. The tour delivers a captivating fusion of music, visuals, and a reimagined band setup featuring Blomqvist himself alongside long-time collaborator Christian Dammann.
“This tour is about connection,” says Blomqvist. “It’s not just about playing music but creating a space for people to reflect, connect, and feel something genuine.”
MUTE is now available on all major digital platforms via Disconnected and Armada Music.
36. Ajii & Wé Ani – Forget About You
Source:Wé Ani
Written by Ajii, Wé Ani and Alex Poeppel and produced by Poeppel, the cool and vibey, hypnotically infectious track offers a combination of poignancy and groove, with haunting, regret-filled lyrics propelled by a fast, bouncy Jersey club type beat. Poeppel’s credits include Billy Porter, Kenny Garrett and Goo Goo Dolls.
The singers’ clever narrative approach finds Ajii breathlessly rap/singing the first chorus and haunting verse, followed by a second and all future choruses harmonizing with Wé Ani, who shares her edgy perspective on the relationship in the second verse.
“’Forget About You’ is a deeply personal song for me, one that captures the battle between chasing my dreams and letting go of someone who once meant everything,” says Ajii, one of the few Idol contestants to sign with BMG Nashville/19 Recordings after being eliminated before the Top Ten. “In my verse, I reflect on how the grind and ambition have taken over, but there’s still that emptiness—the memories of when things felt simple and real.
“It’s not just about missing her body,” he adds, “it’s about missing how she made me feel, even though I know I can’t go back. The black Air Forces line is a nod to a time when love felt unbreakable, but things changed, and now I feel disconnected from the idea of even trying again. This song is my way of admitting that I’m still in the process of forgetting. However, I’m channeling those emotions into the music and hoping someone out there feels it too.”
Wé Ani has the unique distinction of having been a Top Five American Idol finalist and second runner up on Season 11 of The Voice. “The day after a breakup is truly the worst because you’re just waiting to not feel or remember anything about the relationship,” she says. “It’s heavy and heartbreaking. I promise that was not the thought I had going into the session with Ajii though! We were bouncing around ideas when Alex played this jersey club type beat. Ajii and I looked at each other like “YOOO!” The juxtaposition between the sad reality of a breakup and the upbeat rhythm really catches you, so we ran with it.”
37. J. Vito (of The Ton3s) – Covers From The Couch
Source:Release – Topic
“I’ve always wanted to record a collection of covers, because it’s like I’m inviting everybody into my world. I get to let people hear what I feel when it comes to certain songs. I get to make the song my own, my moment… The title of this EP is a bit of a play on words. It started with me singing covers on social media reels from my couch, so I decided to make the title just that. The cover art is a picture of a blanket draped over a couch and that’s what I’m giving you: ‘Covers From The Couch’. My goal was to just have fun with this one. I’m open to suggestions of what other songs to cover next!” – J. Vito
Available on all major digital streaming platforms via Radio Candy Enertainment/EMPIRE, Covers From The Couch is an appetizer for fans while J. Vito puts the finishing touches on his full-length solo album.

39. Chatham Rabbits – Be Real With Me
Source:Chatham Rabbits
“I’m ready for our fans to get to know the people we are now,” says Chatham Rabbits’ Sarah McCombie about the direction of their brand new LP, Be Real With Me. “We’ve grown up together and getting to reveal this album feels like our collective coming of age.” Sarah and her husband and bandmate, Austin, have been picking apart life’s big moments, difficult and joyous, and reassessing them all from a place of hard-won experience and personal truths found on the road. This lifestyle has presented us with exhausting tour schedules, vulnerable songs that force us to talk about our marriage, difficult business decisions, and the ever-complicated dilemma of mixing art and money and friends and employees,” says Sarah. “These past two years have totally changed us,” describes Austin. “We’re not as bright-eyed and naive as we were when we committed to Chatham Rabbits full-time.”
Finding a home for these feelings through song has proven to be not just cathartic and eye-opening for Chatham Rabbits, but for their loyal fanbase as well. “I’m ready for our fans to get to know the people we are now,” says Sarah. “We’ve grown up together and getting to reveal this album feels like our collective coming of age.” The McCombie’s transparency collides with their knack for turning very personal stories into universal reckoning with responsibility and growth in such a way that includes fans of all stages of life in their journey, creating a community that means so much more than just the music. The Chatham Rabbits community is a place to grow together.
And fans will hear that growth in the music as well. “We’ve never been a bluegrass band, but being from NC we cannot ignore the regional influences all around us,” says Austin. “We sampled organic tones and manipulated them into synth pads and percussive elements on this record. It feels like a natural progression because the foundational components of our music are still there, we’ve just added to it.” Written post-pandemic by Sarah and Austin and recorded over a two year period at the Studio at Small Pond Farm, in Pittsboro, North Carolina, Be Real With Me was co-produced by Austin McCombie and the band’s longtime collaborator, Saman Khoujinian (The Dead Tongues, Lou Hazel). On this album, fans will still hear Sarah’s banjo, but right along with it are things like a drum machine, synthesizer, and pedal steel. But it’s the self-reflecting, earnest lyrics that show the most growth from the McCombies.
Be Real With Me is available now to stream and purchase at this link. Chatham Rabbits will hit the stage tonight at the Grey Eagle in Asheville, North Carolina, before heading down to Atlanta’s famed Eddie’s Attic on Saturday. A full list of tour dates can be found below or at chathamrabbits.com/tour.
40. DDK – DDKEYS
Source:Ddkeys
Rising Rapper from Maryland, DDK, shares new independent project DDKEYS, co-produced by 88-KEYS (best known for JAY-Z, Kanye West, Pusha T, etc.). LISTEN HERE.
DDK is an emerging rapper from Maryland, celebrated for his inspiring journey through adversity and deep passion for music. Since his breakout track “Is It Real” in late2020, he has consistently released new songs each month, gaining a devoted fanbase known as the “DDKULT.” What sets DDK apart is his fearless approach to genre-blending, skillfully merging soulful samples that honor hip-hop’s golden era with contemporary beats, creating a sound that is both nostalgic and fresh.
This release follows his recent single “Martyr,”produced by Noisy, 88-Keys, and Katlightning. DDK performed this track for On The Radar Radio, watch HERE.
Independently released, the project has received support from SoundCloud, Pandora, Apple Music, and TIDAL editorial playlists. Standout tracks from the project are “Misfit,””Dottedi,” and “Grey.” The project also features Katlightning (producer of Sexyy Red’s “Shake Yo Dreads”), alongside contributions from Noizy, Splited, floatin., C$upreme, and SADCG.
His lyrics reflect raw vulnerability, discussing personal battles with bipolar disorder and depression while advocating for mental health awareness. Influenced by icons like KendrickLamar, Lil Wayne, Mac Miller, and Earth, Wind & Fire. DDK crafts music that resonates with listeners and encourages perseverance. Through his art, he inspires dream-chasers to embrace their journeys, forging connections that make him a bridge between generations.
DDK in his own words:
“DDKEYS is the lighter fluid that turns the spark into a real fire. I’ve spent years laying the branches and creating sparks, but this project is what finally ignites it. This is what all the grinding—making a song every day—has been for.
I want to highlight a couple of songs, starting with “Grey”. It’s the darkest track on the project because it comes from a dark place—loss. I was raised by my grandparents and spent invaluable time with them, but after losing both in 2019, everything felt gray for a longtime. Mourning is one thing, but when it becomes your entire identity, that’s something else. If you’ve ever experienced deep loss—whether a parent, grandparent or even a pet—this song is for you.
Another form of loss is relationships, which “Misfit”explores. I used intimate partners as a way to make sense of my chaos since I couldn’t turn to the people I loved most. That led to addiction, pain, and suffering—but it also shaped the man I am today. In “Self-Inflicted”, I talk about masking pain through drugs, women, and anything that could numb it. Life felt like a football game where I had to shake off the hits, but self-medicating only deepened the wounds. They never healed—they just kept reopening.
And that’s the beauty of this project—adversity.Overcoming it. And the best part? This is just the beginning. Consider this an introduction to a new stage in my career—where anything is possible. They say luck is when hard work meets opportunity. It’s time to make that opportunity count.”
Listen to DDKEYS and look out for more from DDK in 2025!
41. Sarah Quintana – Be My Love
Source:Sarah Quintana
“This song is a celebration of love, New Orleans-style,” says singer-songwriter Sarah Quintana about her brand new single, “be my love.” Complete with a meandering clarinet solo from Rex Gregory, syncopated vocal harmonies with Rose Cangelosi, and a ripping trumpet tailgate by Emily Mikesell, “be my love” is undoubtedly New Orleans, but Quintana’s goal for this new batch of new music was always to incorporate every corner of the Louisiana music that has shaped her musical path. With “be my love,” she takes what might ordinarily be a ragtime piano feel and transfers the featured instrument to her own six-string style, leading the non-traditional rhythm section through an ear-worm of a song that transcends any regional music stereotypes and lands on a catchy tune all her own.
“I wrote this song for my friend Dalton Ridenhour, an amazing pianist,” says Quintana. “His version of Scott Joplin’s ‘Gladiolus’ with The Lovestruck Balladeers inspired me to compose this ragtime tune for guitar. At the time, I was listening to a lot of Bobby Charles, whose sentiment and harmonic influence can be heard in the pre-chorus.” Mix engineer Eric Heigle honed in the spirit of each horn and each voice creating a beautiful representation of the love-struck words Quintana wrote. “He created musical moments where the ear is in constant motion from one sound to the next,” she says, “like a sonic parade.” In that case, there may be no better fit for Valentine’s Day in the Crescent City than “be my love.”
Americana Highways premiered the track yesterday, writing, “It’s a ragtime jubilee with each instrument taking a turn in the spotlight.” Today, fans can stream or purchase “be my love” at this link hear Quintana’s previously-released single, “baby, don’t,” here, and pre-order or pre-save BABY DON’T ahead of its March 28th release right here. Forgiveness, I hope you find it.” It’s a message of accountability, healing, and hope, reinforcing his position as not just a rapper but a voice for those who often go unheard.
The release of “Crescent Moon” follows the powerful anti-gun violence anthem “CAN WE LIVE?” featuring B.O.A Mook —a hard-hitting social commentary that sheds light on the ongoing struggles surrounding gun violence.
“CAN WE LIVE?” continued the momentum from Choppa’s high-energy collaboration with Imagine Dragons on “Dare U,” a genre-blending smash that has racked up over 14.8M global streams and earned widespread acclaim. Billboard hailed it as “an explosive collaboration,” while VIBE dubbed Choppa “the people’s champion.”
With an already impressive catalog, NLE Choppa continues to challenge perceptions of what a rap artist can be. His recent project, PICASSO: SLUFFIN SZN X SLUT SZN, was praised by Complex as “a bold and versatile work.” Amassing over 9.6 billion global streams and securing 24 RIAA-certified plaques, the 22-year-old artist remains a force of nature, refusing to be boxed in by industry expectations.
Beyond music, Choppa stands as a beacon of resilience and growth. His community activism—including his This Can’t Be Vegan food truck and literacy initiatives—proves his dedication to uplifting those who walk the same streets he once did. Whether through fashion, philanthropy, or film, he continues to redefine the modern hip-hop artist, leading with purpose and authenticity.
50. Jake Wesley Rogers – God Bless

Today, visionary pop artist Jake Wesley Rogers makes a grand return with the soaring, celebratory, and subversive “God Bless.” The gospel-infused pop ballad hails from his just-announced debut full-length album, In the Key Of Love, arriving May 9. Pre-order/pre-save HERE.
Listen to the single HERE via Facet Records / Warner Records, and see “God Bless” brought to ecstatic life via the full-band “Live From a Lodge” performance video HERE.
“This is the third time in my life I have written a song called ‘God Bless’, the first back when I was only 14,” Jake shares. “I guess I’ve always been really interested in how religion intersects in my own life, as a queer person growing up in the Bible Belt. This song is about the contradictions and real life experiences I was going through after moving to LA, in a world that was and only seems to be getting more insane.”
The new song and album announcement follow Jake’s sparkling glam-rock single “Loser” — an anthem for underdogs everywhere that got its own stirring “Lodge” video — which is also set to appear on In the Key Of Love.
Discovered by songwriter Justin Tranter in 2020, Rogers began his path to stardom the following year when Apple Music’s Zane Lowe premiered “Middle of Love” and called him “wildly talented.” That opinion was soon shared by countless tastemakers including People, Billboard, Rolling Stone, American Songwriter, PAPER, and Vogue. He then made a whole new army of fans with the release of 2021’s Pluto EP, a run of North American tour dates supporting Panic! at the Disco, and unforgettable performances on Good Morning America, The Late Late Show with James Corden, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and Late Night with Seth Meyers.
In 2022, Rogers shared his Love EP, which included numerous standout tracks such as “Lavender Forever,” “Hindsight,” and “Dark Bird.” In 2023, he hit the road to support Kesha on her North American tour, releasing the healing anthem “Window” around that time. Now, with “God Bless,” “Loser,” and an entire album’s worth of new music on the horizon, Rogers returns to his mission of sharing a message of love, defiance, and — most importantly — hope.
51. Flau’jae – Flau & B
Source:Flau’jae
Today, musician and NCAA basketball superstar Flau’jae released her new R&B album, Flau & B, which is available to stream HERE via Flauge Entertainment/Roc Nation Distribution.
The 7-track project showcases Flau’jae’s versatility beyond hip-hop and her ability to shine as an R&B artist. With Flau & B, Flau Jae showcases a more personal side, blending soulful hooks with sharp lyricism to explore themes of love, heartbreak, self-discovery, and the challenges of navigating fame.
Flau’jae compares her ambidextrousness of rapping and singing to her ability to play both sides of the ball while on the court, since she’s earned a reputation as one of the best two-way players in college basketball. This duality is at the heart of her artistry, whether she’s spitting bars or laying down smooth R&B tracks.
Flau & B includes standout tracks like “OTW” where she paints a picture of the highs and lies of love, attachment and emotional uncertainty and “Blind Love”, a track that sees her address the pain of infidelity with a laid-back flow. On “I Blame You”, she vents frustration about a relationship strained by her rising star status, while “Need You By My Side” highlights the loneliness that can come with fame.
Maintaining excellence between the recording studio, the basketball court, and the boardroom is a lot of work, but she’s built for it — a true triple threat. The album highlights Flau’jae’s ability to seamlessly blend her sound, further solidifying her status as a dynamic force in the studio and on the court. Earlier this week, Billboard recognized her impact by tapping her as part of its Sports & Music Power Players list.
Flau & B follows the successful release of the deluxe version of her hip-hop album, Best of Both Worlds, from November 2024 that included collaborations with Lil Wayne, NLE Choppa and 2Rare. During that period, Lil Wayne brought Flau to appear on his set at the Lil WeezyAna Fest for an electrifying performance of their collaboration, “Came Out A Beast.”
Flau’jae closed 2024 with incredible momentum, having performed at the 2024 BET Hip-Hop Awards in Oct. 2024 and earning recognition as BET’s Amplified Artist of the Month. She was also honored as part of Forbes’ prestigious Under 30 list.
52. New Translations – Vacation
Source:New Translations
Today, buzzing Nashville alternative band New Translations excitedly present their anticipated full-length debut album, Vacation, out now via War Buddha/Warner Records. Listen HERE.
The band invites listeners to join them on a trip through 11 tracks, jetting from moments of lovelorn 21st century new wave, to bold, emotionally charged pop. A glitchy beat sets “who i am tonight” in motion, punctuated by echoes of neon keys and thick bass. Frontman Oliver Pierce’s baritone vocals boom over hazy synths on the hook, “I love being myself when I’m with you.” The glassy “TV at Home” tempers organic instrumentation with warm electronics. Elsewhere, airy keyboard transmissions give way to a rapturous buildup on “Weatherman.” It overflows with swagger as an urgent plea resounds, “Love me until I don’t believe a word you say.” Then, there’s “Love Bombb.” Loose delay-drenched guitar washes over head-nodding drums as the chorus glimmers, “If I could keep you, I’d keep you…your consolation prize.” Ultimately, New Translations build the ultimate sonic destination with Vacation.
They notably paved the way for the LP with “Coldest Century.” Earning critical acclaim, American Songwriter praised, “It’s introspective, nostalgic, and creates a sense of wintertime yearning.” The album also boasts “Post Hang,” which continues to pick up traction on DSPs. Other singles include “Voided Velvet” with Michigander, in addition to “Vacation,” “Sally,” and “Rat People.” WNSM Radio states, “I think they might be addictive. I’m ready to drop everything – and you should too -… If this is a cult, sign me up.”
Currently, New Translations is on the road supporting Arts Fishing Club. Next up, the band will hit the stage at The Blue Room in Nashville, TN on February 22, 2025 for an album release show, followed by tour dates supporting Rainbow Kitten Surprise and Vlad Holiday. Full routing can be found below and tickets are available for purchase HERE.
