If you need some good laughs to kick off the  new year strong, look no further than TriStar Pictures comedy One of Them Days.

The film features Keke Palmer and SZA as best friends and roommates Dreux and Alyssa, who are facing near impossible odds as they enter a race against the clock to avoid eviction after discovering Alyssa’s boyfriend has blown their rent money.

If you caught Friday vibes after watching the trailer, you wouldn’t be mistaken. Set in the South Los Angeles neighborhood known as the Jungles, One of Them Days is definitely an ode to the West Side — but the film also plays on other popular projects like Superbad and B.A.P.s, with its two endearing female comedic leads. Palmer’s Dreux has it together — kind of — at least she has plans on bettering herself, with part of the plot hinging on her aspirations to get a better-paying job in hospitality. SZA’s character Alyssa is a talented visual artist, but she’s also a bit of a space cadet, completely d*ckmatized by her boyfriend Keshawn. Together the two try to overcome obstacle after obstacle to keep a roof over their heads. Along the way encounter a host of colorful characters — make way for incredible cameos by Katt Williams, Amin Joseph, Tony Baker, Janelle James, Dewayne Perkins, and Keyla Monterroso Mejia — just to name a few. The film is definitely yet another vehicle that will leave the world stunned by the talents of Keke Palmer, but for a newcomer to acting, SZA is definitely no slouch. Solana takes on at least one stunt that will leave audiences with jaws dropped. There’s also a cute little romance brewing for Dreux, cue Mayor of Kingstown actor Patrick Cage. One of Them Days is a fun-filled flick sure to please, whether you hit the theater for girl’s night or date night.
