This week (April 22nd), Sony Pictures released the trailer for their upcoming slasher film and direct sequel to I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, I Know What You Did Last Summer. Continue reading to check out our first look at the fourth film in the franchise.
In the film, when five friends inadvertently cause a deadly car accident, they cover up their involvement and make a pact to keep it a secret rather than face the consequences. A year later, their past comes back to haunt them and they’re forced to confront a horrifying truth: someone knows what they did last summer…and is hell-bent on revenge. As one by one the friends are stalked by a killer, they discover this has happened before, and they turn to two survivors of the legendary Southport Massacre of 1997 for help.
I Know What You Did Last Summer stars Madelyn Cline (Outer Banks, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery), Chase Sui Wonders (Generation, Bodies Bodies Bodies), Jonah Hauer-King (The Little Mermaid), Tyriq Withers (The Game, Atlanta), Sarah Pidgeon (The Wilds, Tiny Beautiful Things), Billy Campbell (Dynasty, The Rocketeer), Gabbriette Bechtel, Austin Nichols (One Tree Hill, The Walking Dead), Lola Tung (The Summer I Became Pretty), Nicholas Alexander Chavez (General Hospital), with Freddie Prinze Jr. (I Know What You Did Last Summer, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer, Scooby-Doo, Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed) and Jennifer Love Hewitt (Party of Five, I Know What You Did Last Summer, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer).
Jennifer Kaytin Robinson directed the movie. She also co-wrote the screenplay with Sam Lansky, after an initial draft with Leah McKendrick. Neal H. Moritz served as producer while Robinson, Jackie Shenoo and Karina Rahardja took on executive producer responsibilities.
Fans of the franchise can expect to see I Know What You Did Last Summer when it exclusively hit theaters on July 18th. While we wait, check out the official trailer for the Columbia Pictures and Original Film produced film below.
