1. Juice WRLD – The Pre-Party

Source:Juice WRLD

Today, from the late, legendary Juice WRLD comes The Pre-Party, a two-pack of highly anticipated songs fans have been trading notes about for years. The surprise set pairs luxe emo-rap cut “World Tour (Aquafina)” with “Lightyears” featuring Young Thug, which has a slight country sway to it. Listen HERE via Grade A and Interscope Records. The 9AM global timing of the 9.9 release is significant to Juice WRLD and his fandom as a cherished number (999) that symbolizes the concept of flipping a bad situation into a positive one.

Juice previewed “World Tour (Aquafina)” on Instagram Live back in 2018, leaving listeners wondering if they’d ever hear the official release. Now, they can listen closely as the Chicago star inhales at the top of the track, then swan-dives through DJ Relentt’s jewel-tone synths into a blissed-out fever dream that rolls drugs, sex, and threats into a technicolor blur: “I can’t feel my tongue, shorty, I’m off the moll’, yeah / I still see the snakes, n****, run inside, yeah.”

“Lightyears” takes a different tack, mixing downcast guitar with booming bass while the two rap visionaries paint a modern picture of class and excess. “Taking trips off the Percs, I be sky high / In the sky sippin’ on red lean like it’s red wine,” Juice coos, while Young Thug flexes, “Ride big Bentleys everywhere that I go / Keep the Lamborghini parked at the bank though.” The beat comes courtesy of longtime Juice friend and collaborator Nick Mira.

The latter song has also been the subject of much speculation. Before Juice’s passing, Thug confirmed the two had more songs in the works, and their chemistry has been affirmed time and again, from Future’s “Red Bentley” (2018), to Juice’s “On God” (2019), to their collab track “Bad Boy” (2021), on through Thug’s “Money” featuring Nicki Minaj (2023) – to name a few. Mira’s involvement with “Lightyears” upped the anticipation — he’s had multiple songs on every Juice album to date, including Top 10 hits “Lucid Dreams,” “Bandit,” and “Smile.”

The Pre-Party follows Juice’s appearance on Ski Mask the Slump God’s fired-up June single “Wake Up!” and the December release of Juice’s “Lace It” featuring Eminem and benny blanco, who also produced the record. It confronts the highs and lows of drug use/abuse — listen HERE. The Pre-Party is only the start of what’s to come.

In April 2020, Juice’s mother Carmela Wallace announced the establishment of the Live Free 999 Fund, which receives support from individual donors in addition to Grade A and Interscope. Live Free 999 honors the legacy of Ms. Wallace’ son by supporting young people in their battles, and doing so with love, joy, and emotional honesty. Live Free 999 encourages anyone struggling with mental health and addiction to get help. Artist Quote:

“’PreRolls’ is the second song off the album, but it is one of the most important because my bro, theMIND, is collaborating with me on it. He was a core part of the Chicago mixtape scene, and this song is just fun. I wanted a track you can vibe to, but I especially wanted to create a mixtape that is true to me and my art.”

3. Nate Mercerau

Source:Nate Mercereau – Topic

Today, GRAMMY-awarded multi-instrumentalist Nate Mercereau, who is currently on André 3000’s New Blue Sun tour, released the second single from his forthcoming album Excellent Traveler (out October 11 on Third Man Records). “For The Highest Quality Listener Testing The Limits” is a fresh, adventurous single featuring samples of the living legend Luis Pérez Ixoneztli and frequent collaborator Carlos Niño. Accompanying the single is the release of a mini-documentary in which  Mercereau sheds fascinating insight on his recording process and credits Herbie Hancock for the inspiration and motivation to create Excellent Traveler.

With elements of Carlos Niño’s gong and Luis Pérez Ixoneztli’s pan flute juxtaposed with other sounds and rearranged into a boundary-pushing track that, as the title suggests, invites the listener to the outer limits of sound ventures. “This piece of music, and all music I make, gives Listeners the credit of handling and receiving anything,” says Mercereau about the second single. “I imagine the most imaginative, radical, open, searching, listener, and make music for their endlessly creative mind and spirit, which is really my own mind and spirit. Creating is listening. Sharing new possible realities, never dampening, only sharpening and expanding expression.”

He continues, “This one contains samples of Luis Pérez Ixoneztli and Carlos Niño. I was very into Luis’s album, “Ipan In Xiktli Metztli, México Mágico Cósmico, El Ombligo de la Luna” at the time, and Carlos introduced us and invited us over to his studio to record together. I picked up Luis and several boxes full of his unique instruments, and we drove to Topanga. I asked Luis about many things — his music, his work with Jon Anderson, and playing music as part of incredible surgeries in the jungle … these aren’t my stories to tell here, but what Luis and I spoke about that day made it into the music. We created together in Carlos’s home studio for about 30 minutes, I brought the files home (and some new instruments from Luis), and later that evening put together For The Highest Quality Listener Testing The Limits.”

In the mini-documentary, Mercereau sets up a version of the Excellent Traveler recording equipment in his backyard and discusses the origins and intentions of the music with director Joshua Whiteman. “Playing Life, a way to interact, anything that makes sound is available as a possible new instrument, infinite possibility, a sonic diary, an entry into the world of solo guitar albums,” shares Mercereau.

As a creative artist at the forefront of modern sonic expression, Mercereau used a unique approach to make music with guitar-controlled samples of special sounds–from the hangers backstage at National Sawdust to the studio sessions with artists like André 3000, Shabaka Hutchings, Kamasi Washington, and others, and even his concerts at home with 3-year-old daughter Juniper. With Excellent Traveler, Mercereau invites listeners to dive into the immersive, multidimensional soundscapes, and explore infinite palaces of possibility.

The forthcoming LP is Mercereau’s version of a solo guitar album following the release of his critically acclaimed records Joy Techniques and SUNDAYS. As penned in the album notes by Carlos Niño, this exquisite album of spontaneous solo composition, nuanced improvisation, and exploratory world creation features living legends Laraaji, Luis Pérez Ixoneztli, Idris Ackamoor, André 3000, and frequent collaborators Carlos Niño and Surya Botofasina. Kamasi Washington, Shabaka Hutchings, Cavana Lee, V.C.R, Anaiah Rasheed Muhammad, Dwight Trible, Andres Renteria, and Aaron Shaw all intersect in Mercereau’s psychedelic quests and adventures as well.

“I feel like I, and we, contain the vastness of all infinite potential, and in that potential, my imagination and feelings about it go beyond words, and it’s all in the music!” Mercereau continues, “My greatest inspirations in life and music come from feeling a sense of infinite possibility, because I do believe that’s what is available in Life on Planet Earth and Beyond. I focus on opening myself up to this freedom as much as I can, and it’s something I maintain awareness of and cultivate in all aspects of my life and creativity. Freedom is very important, I offer it to myself and to others around me. I feel very alive and tuned in when experiencing, hearing, seeing and doing things that remind me that anything can happen.”

Known for his writing and production credits on records by household names such as Jay-Z, John Legend, and Leon Bridges, Nate Mercereau is currently buzzing for his contributions to André 3000’s album, New Blue Sun. At the vanguard of electroacoustic compositions, he seized the opportunity of recording duets with the Golden Gate Bridge in 2021 after reading an article on San Francisco residents complaining about the landmark’s eerie hum–see NPR piece here

7. RITchie & FearDorian – Cc Me

Source:RITchie

Today, RiTchie (of Injury Reserve / By Storm) and 18-year-old phenom FearDorian announce their collaborative EP Quiet Warp Xpress, out September 27th. The joint project follows RiTchie’s debut solo album Triple Digits [112] released this past April. In his first two solo offerings outside of his work as part of Injury Reserve and By Storm, RiTchie is unveiling a different side of himself musically, breaking out a more freewheeling style that weaves between raps and melodic crooning, warping his voice to complement upbeat production and challenge himself in entirely new directions.

Quiet Warp Xpress maintains the same ethos RiTchie introduced with his debut album, utilizing his solo projects as a limitless canvas for him to express himself separate from the sonic identity he’s crafted as part of Injury Reserve/By Storm. FearDorian produced several tracks on RiTchie’s debut including fan favorite “How?!” featuring Niontay and the duo’s instant chemistry is expanded upon on their new EP. The pair meld RiTchie’s “tongue in cheek but stylistically inventive” flow, as noted by The FADER, with the “borderless imagination of the postmodern rap internet,” Pitchfork identified of FearDorian’s self-titled project released this past April.

Next month, RiTchie and FearDorian will kick off a European and UK headlining tour with performances in Dublin, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin and more. These Fall dates follow RiTchie’s North American run from earlier this year alongside Papo2oo4 and subjxct5.

8. Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs ft. Lucinda Williams – Hell Or High Water

Source:Mike Campbell

Celebrated guitarist and songwriter Mike Campbell (Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, Fleetwood Mac) and his band The Dirty Knobs are debuting a hand-made new video for the track “Hell Or High Water” featuring Lucinda Williams. The video—directed by acclaimed animation character designer and art director Matt Nolte (CarsRatatouilleIncredibles 2) and co-directed & åproduced by Greg Dykstra (The Nightmare Before ChristmasFinding NemoUp)—consists of hand-made puppets created entirely out of recycled materials, operated by hand and filmed live using practical effects and sets.

A team of over 20 creators with credits including Inside Out 2CocoLucaSoulElementalPirates of the Caribbean 23 & 4, “What If?” and more contributed to the making of the video. Watch/share the video HERE and watch/share a behind-the-scenes video of the making of the “Hell Or High Water” video HERE.

“The Heartbreakers played in our home, our cars, and in my room for most of my life. That band told me to dream against all odds,” says director Nolte. “This project hangs on a dream. It attracted dreamers, and together we tore and cut up cereal and shipping boxes, paper and various pieces of garbage, and made them into art. We moved it around with our hands, we gave it life. The imperfections you see on screen are reflections of people realizing a dream together, on what was a perfect project.”

The track appears on Campbell & The Knobs’ critically acclaimed new full-length Vagabonds, Virgins & Misfits, out now on BMG. In addition to Williams, the album features appearances from Graham Nash, Chris Stapleton and fellow Heartbreaker Benmont Tench. Salon hails the record as a “their best album yet,” while Ultimate Classic Rock notes that Campbell has “really grown into [his] role as a lead singer” and Premier Guitar raves that the record is “the most expansive and dynamic album of the Dirty Knobs’ one-of-a-kind ride.” Purchase/stream the album HERE and see below for the complete tracklist.
Campbell & The Knobs are celebrating the album’s release by joining with Lucinda Williams and her band for the co-headlining Alone and Together: Come Hell Or High Water tour throughout the Western U.S. Kicking off tonight in Austin at the Moody Theater, the dates will feature both artists performing individually as well as together each night. Tickets are available HERE, see below for a complete list of dates.
The band recently shared the singles “Angel of Mercy” and “Dare To Dream.” Of the latter, which features Graham Nash on vocals alongside Campbell, Consequence hails the song as “a straightforward rocker with a sunny disposition,” while Rolling Stone calls it “an inspirational ballad about learning to live in the present.” “Dare to Dream” is complemented by a Chris Phelps-directed music video shot in Tulsa, Oklahoma including footage from The Church Studio where Mudcrutch—the precursor to Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers—made their first studio recordings for Leon Russell’s Shelter Records as they made their way from Gainesville, Florida to Los Angeles in 1974. Watch/share the video HERE and stream/share “Angel of Mercy” HERE.

In addition to Campbell, The Dirty Knobs features fellow Heartbreaker Steve Ferrone on drums, Chris Holt (Don Henley) on guitar and Lance Morrison (Don Henley) on bass.

Campbell also appears on the tribute record Petty Country: A Country Music Celebration of Tom Petty—out now on Big Machine Records—performing the Heartbreakers’ track “Ways To Be Wicked” alongside Margo Price.

With Vagabonds, Virgins & Misfits, Campbell and the Dirty Knobs (named after tech slang for a broken amp dial) have made the most expansive and dynamic album of the Dirty Knobs’ one-of-a-kind ride. The group was founded in 2000 by Campbell as a writing and club-date project outside the Heartbreakers. The group finally got on record with 2020’s Wreckless Abandon and 2022’s External Combustion, both made with George Drakoulias and Martin Pradler, who return to co-produce the new album with Campbell.

Those LPs, Campbell says, were the Knobs “trying to find our way as a rock & roll band.” “Now it’s down to great songs,” adds Campbell, “the depth in the lyrics and chords.” He recalls something Petty once told him: “Tom said, ‘I love the English language. There’s so much you can do with it.’ I’m discovering that, too. Looking for rhyme schemes, the right word. At first it was a struggle. Now that door has opened,” Campbell says. “I’ve turned a corner” on Vagabonds, Virgins & Misfits. The Dirty Knobs are “still a rock band but growing into different feels.”

9. Dua Saleh – pussy suicide

Source:Dua Saleh

Today the multidisciplinary Sudanese-American artist Dua Saleh (they/them) shares their new single “pussy suicide” from their highly anticipated debut album, I SHOULD CALL THEM, out October 11th via Ghostly International. Contemplative and rousing in nature, the track sees Dua examining the deeply complex nature of romantic relationships and the particularly daunting toxic elements that can persist. Flanked by a looping guitar riff and moody trap beat, their delivery adopts different pitches, from low, morphing drawls to high-register raps. It’s another display of Saleh’s staggering prowess as a singer, songwriter, and sonic architect.

The single gives the final glimpse into I SHOULD CALL THEM, which houses a collection of R&B-infused electronic indie-pop songs that portray the spiritual power, resilience, and joy of love found between two star-crossed lovers. Equal parts imaginative and lived-through, it’s a statement record only Saleh could make.

The album features striking collaborations with Gallant, serpentwithfeet, Sid Sriram, and Ambré and production contributions from highly acclaimed Grammy nominated producers such as Rogét Chahayed (Travis Scott, Jack Harlow, Khalid, Doja Cat), Biako (Fousheé, Yuna, Jean Dawson), Stint (Carly Rae Jepsen, Kesha), and 1Mind (Juice WRLD, Don Toliver, Lil Yachty). It serves as Saleh’s first body of work since their contribution as a co-writer for Travis Scott’s UTOPIA track MY EYES’ (alongside Justin Vernon and Sampha), returning to their breakout role in the Netflix series Sex Education, and taking the cover of GAY TIMES as their 2023 Rising Star in Music honour recipient. Here Saleh shapes their most vulnerable work to date, an apocalyptic narrative informed by environmental anxieties and their experiences as a lover, holding personal truth and hope amidst chaos.

I SHOULD CALL THEM available for pre-order now HERE

DUA SALEH ON “pussy suicide”:

“Sometimes people won’t admit that they’re toxic. This is a song about being with somebody who was previously toxic that makes you question their actions. When you stay with this person, you’re feeding the fire because you feel uncomfortable with the dynamics. I was trying to not pursue those feelings, but had difficulty moving on. Eventually, I learned to have more respect for myself.”

10. Loyal Lobos – Limón

Source:Loyal Lobos

Today the LA-based Colombian singer and songwriter Loyal Lobos makes her highly anticipated return with the release of her new song “Limón” alongside a companion music video directed by Carmen Celeste via Virgin Music. The video captures Loyal’s wildly captivating visual world that she has long crafted and has set her outside of the pack.

The track follows the release of a series of scintillating covers by Loyal for classic songs created by iconic female artists including “Si Tu No Estás Aquí” by Rosana, “(una) bitch” by Meredith Brooks, and “Pienso En Ti” by Shakira – watch performances below. LOYAL LOBOS ON “LIMÓN”:

“A lemon drop fell on a cut and I noticed the sharp pain and sting it caused, reminding me of the pain of a breakup I was going thru. I wanted to express how much it hurts to detach from someone. As I was leaving a part in Bogotá, feeling the lull of that euphoria, I wrote the first verse. And that’s how the song was born.”

11. Avery Lynch – somebody new

Source:Avery Lynch

Rising singer-songwriter Avery Lynch presents the stunning video for her heartfelt new single, “somebody new,” from her latest EP, As Written, Vol 2.

With its delicate piano melody and Avery’s soothing vocals, “somebody new” draws listeners in with its raw, unfiltered honesty. The song is a poignant reflection on a love so profound that it transcends personal desires. “It’s about loving someone so deeply that you wish them happiness, even if it means they find it with someone else,” Avery shares. The song’s beauty lies in its simplicity, making it both deeply touching and profoundly resonant.

The music video, directed by Gus Black, masterfully amplifies the song’s cinematic quality. Avery assumes the role of a narrator, watching the unfolding relationship from a distance, embodying the song’s reflective tone. “I wrote the song from the perspective of an observer, and that’s the role I play in the video,” she explains. The video not only enhances the song’s emotional depth but also leaves a lasting impression, perfectly capturing the bittersweet essence of loving someone selflessly.

Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Avery started playing piano at the age of 7 and writing her own vocal compositions just a year later. As she’s continued to come into her own as an artist, her soft, romantic vocals and raw piano stylings have remained the cornerstone of her sound. She starts each of her songs alone with her piano before bringing the demos to her close-knit team who help her bring the music to life.

Frequently described as a happy girl filled with sad songs, Avery’s artistry is rooted in storytelling. She draws inspiration from the world around her, the media she consumes, and her own life experiences. Since making her debut in 2020, Avery has cultivated a loyal and engaged fanbase, even creating songs inspired by fan comments. With over 100 million streams and counting, as well as a newly inked deal with RECORDS, Avery Lynch is an artist poised for stardom.

12. .idk. – 2:22

Source:idk

.idk. shares “TiFFANY” and  “KiCKIN,” a dual release entitled 2:22, and his latest offering that marks a pivotal moment in the Maryland native’s artistic career.

The two songs (the former of which features Gunna) arrive in conjunction with the launch of .idk.’s exclusive giveaway of his own reimagined version of the ultra-coveted Tiffany 2:22 Datejust Rolex Watch. A disruptor in the truest sense, .idk.’s latest move sees fashion as a medium in his self-expression. It’s also a reflection of long-running threads in Jason Mills’ tenure as a Black designer; from his Lids HD collaboration at the tail-end of 2023 to past work with LVMH’s Christian Dior brand, and beyond.

2:22, out now via Clue No Clue, finds .idk. utilizing rap as a limitless canvas for him to explore themes of money and materialism over hypnotic drum patterns. “KiCKIN” is coated in deadpan charisma and casual flexes. “TiFFANY” is as braggadocious as it is aspirational, and evokes an impenetrable kind of cool. Together, the songs – both of which are 2 minutes and 22 seconds long – speak to the sonic identity he’s crafted over the years.

The exclusive giveaway is now open for individuals who wish to participate. To qualify, fans are encouraged to join .idk.’s Discord community, where moderators will track the top 100 streamers of 2:22 on FM.stream. Among these top streamers, one lucky winner will receive the custom watch, a signed certificate of authenticity from .idk., and a lifetime pass to all of his future shows and events — plus a guest. The contest concludes on Friday, October 4th.

Speaking about his intention behind the giveaway, .idk. shares:  “In a world where it’s becoming increasingly hard to reach new fans, we want to focus on creating a community and nurturing the people who already love what we do. I envisioned this watch as a collectible art piece, adding to the collection of items I’ve created in the past—like Game Boys, sneakers, and merchandise. This is just the next phase in the journey I’ve been on since day one.”

As anticipation builds for .idk.’s next announcement, he’s poised to make a lasting impact on the culture at large. 2:22 is now available on all major streaming platforms.

13. Hulvey – CRY

Source:Hulvey

“Every drop means something” is a phrase that encapsulates the overall message of Hulvey’s latest offering, CRY, an album represented as an acronym: Communion, Reflection, and Yearning. Giving listeners 17 compelling reasons to embrace vulnerability as a sacred path to deepening your relationship with God, released today
via Reach Records.

“I think ‘CRY’ is the definitive Hulvey album. There is a song for everyone,” says Hulvey. “My hope is that listeners are comforted in these songs, recognizing that their tears are not in vain but are a powerful expression of their journey with God. He knows you, He loves you, and He desires to walk with you. Let every tear be a prayer.”

Throughout his new album, Hulvey reflects on his spiritual journey. He explores universal themes that tie together our disparate experiences, broken up into three chapters that tell a heartfelt story of redemption. This pious pursuit is complemented by features from artists like Torey D’Shaun, Samm Henshaw, Alex Jean, and one of Hulvey’s closest collaborators Forrest Frank.

Cementing his status as a leader of a new generation, Hulvey’s sophomore album is a joyride through worship and hip-hop. He delivers blunt-force bars that carry a true-to-life feel on “Poor Party,” unfurls a tale of perseverance and determination on “Top Spinnin,” and delivers a source of motivation for those who need it on “Battle Cry.” Of course, all roads lead to “Altar,” the closing track to Hulvey’s new LP and one of his most popular songs among fans. The latter peaked at #25 on Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs, with seven total weeks on the chart, and earned a remix featuring Grammy Award-winning R&B-pop star Ciara.

Elsewhere, Hulvey just completed his late-summer US tour alongside Christian worship giants Phil Wickman and Brandon Lake, making landfall in Detroit, Atlanta, Boston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and more before wrapping in Hawaii.

In the five years since signing with Lecrae’s label, Hulvey has since won over audiences worldwide and it’s evident that his list of accolades will only continue to grow. With raw talent, proven superstar potential, and his relationship with God at the forefront of the conversation, it’s only a matter of time before Hulvey is shining bright enough for the rest of the world to take notice.

15. Montell Fish – What’s It Take to Be a Star?

Source:Montell Fish

Today, Montell Fish has released his latest single “What’s It Take to Be a Star?” from his upcoming album CHARLOTTE – listen HERE. CHARLOTTE is set to release via Virgin Music Group on Friday September 27th. Pre-save the album HERE. The North American tour in promotion of CHARLOTTE – with support from Kacy Hill and Clip – just kicked off this past Wednesday, September 11th at Royale in Boston, MA. All tickets can be found HERE for purchase.

One of the big questions Fish deals with on CHARLOTTE is what is he destined for? Over big, ’80s-sounding guitar riffs, he answers unequivocally: “I know I’m a star.” On the track of the same name, Fish’s confessional style moves away from the intimacy of a singer-songwriter recording in their bedroom to a sound that would suit an arena.

“What’s It Take to Be a Star?” was one of the first and only moments from the record I can think of where Jake (Portrait) changed the progression from what I originally had. And it felt good, like a clashing of our roots. I’ve always loved Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s production, choice of drums, chords and melodies and this felt like it could live in their universe in a weird way,” Fish had to say about the new single and working with Portrait on the project.

On Friday, September 27th, Fish will release his newest album CHARLOTTE, a raw collection of songs that explore the highs and lows of love, ambition, and self-actualization. Pre-save the album HERE. It probes deep into themes of memory, attachment, loss, and growth, and the psychology behind all of these human experiences. While Montell wrote the record, the continuation of the trilogy that began with Jamie (2022), Fish read about psychology, memory, and childhood; the ideas of Freud and Jung provided thoughtful stimulation as he crafted songs that explore growth and attachment—romantic and otherwise. Through lyrics relating to love, power, failure, and success – all universal to the human experience– Montell uses these themes to highlight the same feelings and situations he’s experienced since the formulation of Jamie, in regards to his own struggle with leaving his faith, and learning to lose and move on from those who were a part of that old audience, team and online fan base.

Recorded between Paris and New York, CHARLOTTE began life in the home of the acclaimed fashion designer Matthew Williams and is the first project of Montell’s that includes a co-collaborator (Jacob Portrait). CHARLOTTE is Montell’s most fully realized project yet, the sound of a generational talent stepping into his power. The album includes collaborations with Clams Casino, Alex G, and Daniel Caesar.

Last week on Friday, September 6th, Fish hosted a CHARLOTTE album listening party for over a thousand fans and industry VIPs at ESSX on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The audience was treated to the first ever live performance of hit singles “Who Did You Touch?” and “SCREAM MY NAME” – download photos from the event HERE.

The CHARLOTTE tour, which kicked off this past Wednesday in Boston, MA at Royale, will see Montell playing his biggest venues to date, performing for his legion of fans across the country. Kacy Hill and Clip will be joining the tour for select dates. The 20+ city trek will hit major markets including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Atlanta, Toronto, and Nashville with stops at iconic venues including The Fonda Theatre, Brooklyn Bowl Nashville, and House of Blues. 16. Molly Santana – Masonic Musik

Source:MollySantanaVEVO

Today, breakout underground rapper / artist Molly Santana continues her monumental rise to stardom with the arrival of hotly anticipated EP, Masonic Musik. The eclectic 6-song set combines hazy, soulful declarations with rapid-fire EDM beats and dizzying hooks to create something completely unique to the LA newcomer. Highlighted by Santana’s recent single “Windows Up”, the bold and confident single released earlier this summer, Masonic Musik marks a brand new era for the young talent – stream HERE Victor Victor Worldwide / Capitol Records.

EP highlights include “Nothin Like Us,” a propulsive, club-ready banger and “Want,” which sees Molly exercising her versatility with a dynamic mix of pop and electronic soundscapes. Other standouts include “So Lost,” an atmospheric lament about backstabbers, and the bold and confident “Tell Me Nun” which showcases the rapper’s brash lyrical command. Masonic Musik also houses Santana’s recently released “Windows Up,” Molly’s fastest growing song to date, and a genre-defying anthem that demonstrates her ability to think outside the hip-hop box.

“You can’t sell me no dream, I’ve been juggin’ finnesin’ since I was a teen,” Santana raps over ethereal backing vocals and propulsive synths. As the pounding club percussion builds, she pulls the trigger on the hypnotic chorus. “Riding in a big, black truck, got all my windows up,” she spits. “Ain’t tryna see no one, I’m tryna blow the speakers up.” Forward-looking yet instantly accessible, “Windows Up” promises to be the budding hitmaker’s calling card.

In recent years, Santana has built a reputation for excellence in the underground rap scene with burgeoning followings on TikTok and SoundCloud. She also amassed more than 1M streams on Spotify alone for songs like “Wreck It,” “Red Dot” and “Ozone.” Since then, the MC has continued to switch up her sound, incorporating frenetic production for “Dumb” and leaning into mainstream anthemic hip-hop on the towering track “Chain Swangin.”

Now, with Masonic Musik, Santana is looking to start a new chapter with her most emotionally vulnerable, daring, and accomplished project to date.

18. Bryant Barnes & D4vd – I’d Rather Pretend

Source:BRYANT BARNES

Following the success of his breakout single “I’d Rather Pretend” and the release of his debut EP, VANITY, rising singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and alternative outlier Bryant Barnes, collaborates with fellow Houston, TX native, 19-year-old visionary artist, d4vd, for a new version of his breakthrough hit “I’d Rather Pretend.” The song is out now via Mercury Records.

“I’d Rather Pretend” quickly became one of Bryant Barnes’ most popular songs with a tidal wave of viral engagement. Upon release it crashed the Top 20 of Billboard’s RnB Songs Chart peaking at #13. Simultaneously it gained nearly 40 million global streams as the debut ep VANITY, charted at #13 on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums Chart and #10 Apple Music R&B Albums Chart

Now, Barnes delivers an incredible new version of “I’d Rather Pretend,” with d4vd who brings a new energy to the emotive ballad as his higher register floats over the melancholy cello strums. Bryant’s vocals flutter over a piano driven track as he wrestles with mixed feelings as he exhales, “I want to love you but I’m scared, so I’d rather pretend.” It makes a huge statement as the two Houston natives trailblaze momentum for the region’s impact in Alt-Pop.

Bryant Barnes shared about the collaboration, “I’m really grateful for how “I’d Rather Pretend” is going. I hit the Billboard charts. I’m just really grateful that it’s been going up and I have the remix with d4vd. I’ve been wanting to work with d4vd for a while, even when he first began music because growing up he lived like 10 minutes away from me in my hometown. So it really just made a lot of sense to collaborate and I’m glad that we’re able to get on “I’d Rather Pretend” together.”

“I loved working with Bryant,” d4vd added. “This was a collab for the fans. Our fans were both spamming us to work with each other, so we knew we had to get it done. Hopefully we do some more together in the future too.”

Bryant Barnes paved the way for his 7-track debut  written and produced by himself and others with  “Give Me A Sign,” a genre-blending alternative pop track that has amassed over 9 million global streams. Praised for its unique fusion of lo-fi pop and alternative R&B, OnesToWatch predicted it would define the summer, calling Barnes a rising force in R&B. Preceding this success, “Don’t Want A Love Song” exploded with 16 million global streams and 3 million video views, with outlets like Rated R&B commending its melancholic, acoustic-driven exploration of unrequited love. Closing out 2023, Barnes released “Adore You – Acoustic,” showcasing his raw vocal talent, while his first song ever “Adore You” continues to gain momentum across streaming platforms. Acclaimed by critics such as Music & Fashion Blog and Banger of the Day, Barnes is recognized for his standout vocal tone, songwriting, and undeniable “IT” factor.

19. Jake & Shelby – Chasing Ghosts

Source:Jake & Shelby

Today, Nashville-based pop duo Jake & Shelby release “Chasing Ghosts,” their stunning new single with a momentous melody reflecting the amassed weight of unresolved trauma, via EMPIRE NASHVILLE.

Listen to “Chasing Ghosts” HERE

Of the single, Jake & Shelby reveal: “It’s about the feeling of continuing to chase after experiences of familiar pain… because you don’t know how to live without it. When you’re so used to living with chaos, sometimes it doesn’t feel natural to live a healthy life even after you’re in a different place. When regularly connecting with old trauma, old versions of yourself, or even old tendencies, it makes it harder to leave it behind and experience new growth. It’s almost like you’re chasing ghosts.”

“Chasing Ghosts” follows the August release of “Control,” marking a sonic shift for the duo as they build on their previous, more acoustic approach, now with punchy pop production and cathartic percussion. At 18 and 20, their vocal agility and poignant songwriting are on display more than ever, and their star continues to rise.

Jake & Shelby released their debut EP Just Us in January and gained fast attention online for their covers, connection, and songwriting. They met at music school in the Nashville area, and have been making music together for over two years.

Pulling inspiration from the likes of John Mayer, Madison Cunningham, Taylor Swift, and Phoebe Bridgers, Jake & Shelby’s songs are equally powerful and inspiring. What started as a few simple social posts has led to a global fan base.

Celebrities are also taking note. Acclaimed artists including Gracie Abrams had sung praises of Jake & Shelby on social media. They’ve also garnered the attention of one of their musical heroes, Michael Bublé, who dueted with them on social media platforms and invited them to sing with him backstage before his show at Bridgestone Arena. Kim Kardashian asked them to send a special birthday song to her sister, Khloe, on Instagram saying, “Khloe and I are such big fans. Thank you Jake & Shelby for making Khloe’s bday extra special. We love you.”

Fans were immediately taken with the duo’s chemistry in those early social posts. “We just knew when we started singing together that it felt right.” It feels right indeed. Jake & Shelby are currently in the studio working on their debut album and will be following up with live shows later this year.

An 11-track tale of devotion and yearning through timeless, danceable soundscapes, We Could Be Love expands on the breezy, sunsoaked sentiments that have driven James’ catalog. The album is a reflection of the duality that has distinguished James throughout his career – uplifting and emotive songs framed through a club-friendly lens.

“‘We Could Be Love’ was such a fun album to write with so many incredible feature artists. It feels so special to release an album right now and I want to give fans a whole moment with my music…not just a song or two. This album takes me from the beach to the club and back. It’s emotive and powerful and I’m so proud of every record and thankful to everyone involved. Turn it up and enjoy the vibes. ‘We Could Be Love’ is all yours.” – Hayden James

Featuring new collaborations with Izzy Bizu, Tudor, Ross Quinn, and more, We Could Be Love acts as a sonic capsule that stretches from his roots in Australia’s house music scene to the influences of American and UK underground sounds. The album is cut with edgier explorations into James’ brand of house-pop with inklings of deep tech on ‘Waves Out’ and progressive accents in ‘Don’t Let Me Go’. From the lovesick notions of songs like ‘Medicine’ and ‘Shelter’ to the undeniable rhythms of tracks like ‘The Pleasure’ and ‘Make It’, the album encompasses the breadth of sonic depth James has developed over the last decade.

Envisioned for the dancefloor, We Could Be Love is the soundtrack to James’ new Just Friends party series, which launched in April in Sydney, with its second edition held in Gold Coast. The third Just Friends and first-ever U.S. edition will coincide with the album release at The Spotlight in Los Angeles on September 13. Hayden James will also bring We Could Be Love to venues and clubs across North America with his headline We Could Be Love Tour, supported by Laurence Guy and Kormak.

24. Yasmina Moonlight – Habibi (My Baby)

Source:Yasmina Moonlight

Rising artist Yasmina Moonlight released her debut single “Habibi (My Baby),” out today via LPME Records/Studios. On the rhythmic pop track infused with Arabic drums, Yasmina showcases her vocals as she speaks on letting go and moving forward, exploring the complexities of navigating heartbreak and its emotional challenges.

“‘Habibi (My Baby)’ was deeply inspired by my own experiences with a challenging relationship,” Yasmina explains. “It was incredibly hard to let go of someone who, despite their toxicity, had once made me feel loved and valued. I was blinded by the affection they gave me, making it difficult to see the negative aspects of the relationship. This song represents a turning point for me – standing my ground and refusing to return to that toxic environment. It’s about finding strength in moving on and recognizing my own worth. Sometimes you have that sunken feeling in your heart missing that love, but there is no turning back now.”

Yasmina’s debut single is a heartfelt reflection of how pain and toxicity can impact not only romantic relationships, but friendships and family dynamics as well. “Habibi (My Baby),” produced by Moh Denebi (Loreen, Molly Sandén, Lara Fabian) and mastered by GRAMMY-winning engineer Dave Kutch (Alicia Keys, Billie Eilish, The Weeknd, Justin Timberlake), serves as a reminder that healing begins with acknowledging the pain and choosing to push through the discomfort.

Born and based in Dubai, Yasmina Moonlight (formerly known as Yasmina Alidodova) blends pop elements with Arabic and Hindi influences to bring a unique cultural fusion to the mainstream. Yasmina’s journey in music and performance is driven by a deep-seated desire to inspire others and make a lasting impact, cementing her as an artist to watch. In 2023, Yasmina appeared on X Factor Dubai where she captivated fans and judges alike with her magnetic stage presence and soulful vocals. Outside of music, she has starred in feature films, short films, and commercials in addition to scoring brand partnerships with big names in the beauty industry like Sephora, Huda Beauty, and Too Faced Cosmetics to name a few.

25. Cassadee Pope – Hereditary (Deluxe)

Source:Cassadee Pope

Today, GRAMMY-nominated, Platinum-certified singer-songwriter Cassadee Pope has released the deluxe edition of her new album, Hereditary. As the voice behind the iconic 2000s pop punk group Hey Monday, Hereditary marks The Voice winner’s first full length following her shift from country back to her pop punk roots.

The album, that GRAMMY.com named as one of their top 15 Must-Hear Albums In July, is an emotional rollercoaster ride through the ups and downs of life, love and self-discovery. Each track is a testament to the journey we embark on, shaped by our upbringing and the legacies passed down through generations. Whether that’s love, betrayal or the intricate web of family dynamics, the title Hereditary captures the essence of our roots, the echoes of our past and the quest to carve our own path.

The deluxe edition of Hereditary includes three new songs: “Say it Again,” ‘The Poet,” and “Bad Decisions.”

“Say it Again” confronts insecurity in relationships, reflecting on how past experiences can color how we approach relationships in the present. It touches on themes of love and insecurity, but also personal growth and resilience, a continuing motif throughout Hereditary. The song includes nostalgic pop punk riffs and catchy melodies, making for a memorable and emotionally compelling, yet fun and lively track.

Pope shows off her storytelling skills with cheeky lyrics tied into a track filled with crunchy guitar lines and energetic drum lines to create “The Poet.” The song calls out someone who may seem like the perfect partner, but who is ultimately “just a poet,” using words to create a false narrative.

Recently released single, “Bad Decisions” is a relatable track reflecting on life’s twists, turns and unexpected journeys. The upbeat tune and lively melody reminds us that life is full of experiences and lessons that make us who we are. Encouraging listeners to find value in everyday life’s  experience throughout each chapter of our lives,  the song speaks to the common theme on the coming of age record, Hereditary, noting the importance of embracing our pasts and personal stories.

“I wanted to release a deluxe version of Hereditary because there were other songs I wrote that didn’t make the album but feel important to tell my story. I look at these songs like bonus scenes at the end of movie credits. They help round out the story but give it a place to go.” – Cassadee Pope

28. Zach Bryan – Oak Island

Source:Zach Bryan

Today, singer-songwriter, producer and Grammy Award-winner Zach Bryan releases a music video for the fan-favorite track “Oak Island,” taken from his current Warner Records album THE GREAT AMERICAN BAR SCENE. The short film was directed by Matthew Dillon Cohen, who also directed Bryan’s “Nine Ball” and “Boys Of Faith” videos. Click HERE to view “Oak Island.”

Just as the song’s cinematic lyrics bring to life, the clip tells the story of a young man watching someone he loves repeat the same mistakes as the storyteller and his attempt to stop them. The images reflect real life piercing the veil of work-a-day monotony and how the stakes escalate in the blink of an eye. This is the story of a man and his desire to protect his younger brother at any cost. Lyrics for the track HERE.

As previously announced this past week, Bryan will headline night one of the 2025 Stagecoach Festival in Indio, CA. For now, possibly his only live show scheduled for the year.

That track also boasted a “Country Mix” featuring J.P. that landed in the COUNTRY MIX on New Music Friday and was hailed as “one of NLE Choppa’s biggest hits” by HipHopDX.

More recently, Choppa covered PAPER Magazine’s very special 40th Anniversary issue, and dropped “Or What?” featuring 41 — a sexy, brass-heavy summer anthem. He also linked with Punjabi powerhouse Diljit Dosanjh for “Muhammad Ali,” which generated millions of streams upon release.

“I’ve never really felt at home in any other space until the Country genre. Releasing the deluxe version of What Happens Now? Feels like the end of an era,” says Dasha. “I’m really proud of this project and the chapter we created together and it has set me up for even better and brighter things in the future. The world of Country generously opened their arms so big for me and my debut. Artists like Lainey Wilson, Jelly Roll, Kelsea Ballerini and Keith Urban have really encouraged me to go bigger and bolder while doing what I love as a human and an artist. For that, I’ll be forever thankful.”

She notably expanded the record with five brand new tracks. Dasha’s latest single “Bye Bye Bye” serves up one of her catchiest choruses yet. Revolving around acoustic guitar and a thumping stomp, she wrestles with the ups and downs of a toxic relationship. Once the upbeat chorus kicks in, she gains the courage to move on, “So, I said bye, bye, bye. I might die if I try and love you any harder.” Watch Dasha literally drag her ex in the “Bye Bye Bye” music video HERE

On “Leaving Don’t Mean Goodbye,” delicately plucked banjo accents Dasha’s smoky delivery. Meanwhile, the singer-songwriter’s storytelling takes center stage on “Way Too Drunk,” where she attempts to piece together a hazy night with a smile. Then, there’s “Ain’t No Friend of Mine” which plunges listeners headfirst into drama as it unfolds, “Honey you can have that man, it’s fine, but you ain’t no friend of mine.”

In other big news, the pop-country sensation’s mega-smash “Austin (Boots Stop Workin’)” just picked up a platinum certification from the RIAA in the United States and seven countries around the globe. All while Dasha continues her wildly successful Dashville, U.S.A tour. Later this fall, she is set to make stops in New York, Nashville, Los Angeles and more. Earlier this year, Dasha notably made her debut at the iconic Grand Ole Opry® in Nashville, TN. The milestone performance marked a significant moment in Dasha’s burgeoning career as she joined the ranks of artists like Kelsea Ballerini, Luke Combs, Lady A, Blake Shelton and many more who have graced the stage of Grand Ole Opry®.
