Karen Salicath Jamali is entering 2026 with both new music and fresh recognition. Her new single, Angel Sandalphon (The Angel of New Beginnings),” arrived on January 29 as a soft solo piano composition designed as what she describes as an “opening gate” for the year ahead — a moment of musical reset grounded in clarity, and renewal.

According to Salicath, the music came to her in a dream just before the New Year. She recorded it at dawn, as night shifted into morning and birds began to sing, a moment she considers energetically significant. Reflecting on that process, she explained, “That moment, when night turns into day, carries a very special energy for me, and I wanted to capture that first breath, that clean freshness, in the sound.”

The composition unfolds gently, its piano lines moving with innocence, evoking both protection and calm. Inspired by Angel Sandalphon — traditionally known as the angel of music, prayer, and new beginnings — Salicath channels that symbolism directly into sound.

On February 1, Salicath also shared a video connected to her recent release that expands on its themes through a series of visual fragments. The footage includes moments of Salicath playing the piano, interspersed with natural imagery where sunlight briefly breaks through, life stirs, and movement unfolds — flowers opening, grass growing, horses running and splashing through water. These scenes are framed as symbols of vitality and renewal. Feathers appear throughout the video, subtly emphasizing the presence of Angel Sandalphon and reinforcing the spiritual undertones behind the composition. The visual functions as a reflective companion to the music, using light, nature, and symbolism to echo its focus on beginnings and transformation.

The release was soon followed by renewed recognition tied to her earlier work. In a recent Instagram caption, Salicath shared that her EP Angel Trio received a Silver Award for Best Instrumental Piano and Composer. Writing on the platform, she said, “Thank you so much it means a world to me to receive this recognition of my music.”

Born in Denmark and now based between New York City and Florida, Salicath is a multi-award-winning composer, pianist, producer, and visual artist. Following a near-death experience in 2012, she began receiving music through dreams — a process that continues to define her intuitive creative practice. Her work, often described as healing and angelic, has reached more than 10 million streams worldwide.

As Salicath enters 2026, including a new chapter in collaboration with EMPIRE, “Angel Sandalphon” feels like an opening shaped by spirituality, and the belief that beginnings are best approached softly.
