Lady Gaga has finally given fans the confirmation they’ve been hoping for with news of a sequel to “Telephone” featuring Beyoncé in the works. After 15 years, the follow-up to their iconic, cinematic music video is finally on the horizon. Read more inside.

During a recent Vanity Fair lie detector test, Gaga was put on the spot about the long-awaited continuation of “Telephone.” When asked if the music video would be continued, she responded with a hesitant “yes.” But when pressed for a timeline, she admitted, “I don’t know.”

Then came the moment that sent the Internet into a frenzy. The interviewer handed Gaga a photo of Beyoncé and asked if the Cowboy Carter star would be involved. Gaga simply said, “Maybe.” The lie detector confirmed she was telling the truth, fueling speculation that Queen Bey is indeed on board.

What Took So Long?

Fans have been begging for a sequel ever since the 2010 video ended with the words “To Be Continued…” But despite years of rumors, nothing materialized until now.

Gaga was also asked whether the delay was due to scheduling conflicts with Beyoncé. Without hesitation, she shut that theory down with a firm “No.” So, while the details remain a mystery, at least we know their busy calendars weren’t the issue.

A Pop Culture Moment That Defined an Era

For those who need a refresher, “Telephone” was more than just a hit song—it was a full-blown pop culture event. Originally written for Britney Spears, the track ultimately became a powerhouse collaboration between Gaga and Beyoncé. The nine-and-a-half-minute video, directed by Jonas Åkerlund, played out like a stylish, chaotic, and over-the-top action film, with Gaga and Beyoncé serving as Thelma & Louise-style fugitives.

From the prison-break choreography to the Honey B’s “pussy wagon” cameo, the video solidified itself as one of the most iconic music visuals of the 2010s. Naturally, the cliffhanger ending left fans desperate for more. Now, it looks like they’ll finally get it.

Gaga’s New Era: ‘Mayhem’ is Coming

Beyond the “Telephone” sequel, Gaga is gearing up for the release of her seventh studio album, Mayhem, dropping Mar. 7. She has already teased the project with singles “Disease” and “Abracadabra,” which premiered in the middle of the 2025 Grammy Awards.

Describing her creative process, Gaga explained that Mayhem represents her return to the pop sound that made her famous. She likened making the album to “reassembling a shattered mirror.” Not perfect, but something new and beautiful.

With new music on the way and the return of one of pop’s most legendary duos, 2025 is shaping up to be a huge year for Gaga and the Little Monsters.

The only question left is: Are we finally getting the full “Telephone” trilogy? Comment your thoughts below.
