1. Agatchu – Maradona
Source:Agatchu
Following the success of ‘One For Me’ with Ya Levis to kickstart 2025, fast-rising French Angolan artist and producer AGATCHU is excited to unveil his first solo release of the year titled ‘MARADONA’ as he inches closer to his highly anticipated sophomore EP. The new single is a genre-blurring slow burner, fusing raw emotion, R&B harmonies, afrobeats grooves, and deep storytelling. It sees Agatchu step fully into the spotlight, pairing his smooth vocals with Yoruba and French infused lyrics, over sleek production from longtime collaborator AZNVR (MHD, Focalistic, Tayc). Inspired by the clash of two dominant personalities in a passionate relationship, the track explores love, ego, vulnerability, and power through a cinematic lens.
Drawing from West African pop influences and modern R&B sensibilities, while tapping his own Nigerian heritage, the single blends English, Yoruba, and French to reflect Agatchu’s multicultural identity and global musical influences. Co-written with Lagos singer-songwriter Pekeys, ‘Maradona’ sees Agatchu crafting a rich layered offering that feels both soulful and unfiltered. He describes the track as a song about the tension, complexity, and beauty of relationships, adding that it is “a celebration of love, and the intricate dynamics and vulnerabilities we all experience in relationships”. With its hypnotic groove and resonant songwriting, the track marks a confident step toward Agatchu’s highly anticipated sophomore EP, set for release in spring 2025.
Since his official debut as an artist less than a year ago, Agatchu has rapidly become one of the most exciting new voices in the global music and afrobeats landscape, earning with strong support from industry tastemakers such as Spotify, Apple Music, BBC 1Xtra, Capital Xtra, Mouv, Générations, and Vevo DSCVR. Following the success of his debut EP Believe, and hit singles like ‘New Maserati’ and ‘Stamina’ with Joé Dwet Filè, Agatchu continues to push boundaries with his bold expansive genre-fusing artistry and resonant storytelling. His two new singles to start 2025, ‘One For Me’ and ‘Maradona’ mark the exciting next chapter in his ascent, as he prepares for the release of his highly anticipated sophomore EP. Defined by authenticity, creativity and excellence, Agatchu is one to watch.
2. Kizz Daniel, Angélique Kidjo & Johnny Drille – Police
Source:Kizz Daniel
Award-winning Nigerian pop superstar KIZZ DANIEL opens a bold new chapter in 2025 with ‘POLICE’ – a feel-good genre-blending romantic anthem that features legendary GRAMMY Award-winning global music legend Angélique Kidjo and Nigerian soul favourite Johnny Drille. As the first single from his highly anticipated Uncle K album, ‘Police’ delivers tongue-in-cheek charm and undeniable groove, telling the story of a man so captivated by love that he threatens to “call the police” over his partner’s irresistible allure. Originally crafted with Johnny Drille, and later elevated by Kidjo’s electrifying pan-African presence, the track fuses afrobeats, soul and infectious lyricism, with standout production from MOG Beatz, Blaise Beatz (Chris Brown, Wizkid, Davido), and Johnny Drille himself. The outcome is an infectious celebration of romance, humour, culture, and cross-generational collaboration.
This feel-good love song showcases three powerhouse artists at their most expressive and in sync, with Kizz Daniel delivering sharp storytelling and effortless swagger, Johnny Drille providing rich harmonies and emotional texture; and Angélique Kidjo injecting timeless global flavour, even sampling her iconic 1994 hit ‘Agolo’ in the chorus. It’s a track rooted in joy and cultural connectivity – light-hearted, infectious, and widely resonant. ‘Police’ not only reaffirms Kizz Daniel’s status as a master of afrobeats storytelling, but also hints at the sonic ambition behind Uncle K, his most globally minded project to date. The track perfectly sets the tone for Kizz Daniel in 2025 – it is an uplifting pan-African offering that is both forward-thinking and classic, personal and universal. It’s the sound of an icon evolving, once again
Kizz Daniel stepping into 2025 with renewed energy, fresh creative fire, and a legacy stronger than ever. 3. ROHAN – I Wish I Could Tell You
Source:ROHAN
Today, Melbourne/San Francisco alt-pop artist & producer ROHAN shares the confessional, slow-burning earworm “I Wish I Could Tell You” and DIY visualizer out now. With its infectious guitar loop and raw vocals, the vulnerable tune is an open letter to an ex love the artist never formally sends. Last month, ROHAN supported his ex’s (and Chappell Roan’s) favorite pop artist, Devon Again at her sold out San Francisco show where he debuted the track live for the first time.
On the new single, the musician moves towards acceptance as he comes to terms with a heartbreak that is out of his hands. Recorded in his home studio in Melbourne, Australia, ROHAN shares, “I originally wrote it as a folk song on my acoustic guitar in my San Francisco apartment after a volatile, unexpected breakup on the night of Halloween. Despite being lovers for over 4 years, my ex and I haven’t spoken a word to each other since that night, and the song became a release—a place to pour out everything I wished I could tell her but never could.” After he posted the demo on TikTok and received a like from Beabadoobee, he decided to officially release it. Its matching DIY visualizer was done in collaboration with celebrated director Mark Kohr whose work spans iconic videos for Green Day, No Doubt, Alanis Morissette and more.
“It acknowledges a phase where you feel stuck in the past and the weight of lingering emotions,” ROHAN shares. Influenced by the indie rock he grew up on, the artist continues, “I was reconnecting with some of my favourite Aussie indie artists like Skegss and Courtney Barnett and Matt Corby, pulling inspiration from them and blending it into the song’s DNA. And that’s what inspired the more “in the mud” 90s guitars that contrast the modern upbeat rhythm.”
ROHAN was raised by Indian parents between Australia and Singapore and was introduced to music through Australian Idol and Green Day’s American Idiot. After high school, he moved to California and attended Stanford to continue exploring his love for technology and music. Recently opening for Devon Again proved to be a cathartic moment as the pop artist was a shared love of ROHAN and his former love. Now, out of his own studio in San Francisco and pulling inspiration from Australian indie rock bands like Skeggs, 90s R&B like Lauryn Hill and contemporary pop artists like Dominic Fike, he’s ready to officially introduce himself with his own blend of Australian indie rock with R&B, electronic and folk influences that form his self-produced confessional alt-pop anthems.
With “I Wish I Could Tell You,” out now, ROHAN attempts to part with a meaningful love on his own terms with no regrets. Connect with ROHAN on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube and stay tuned for much more to come from the rising artist.

6. Sawyer Hill – Heartbreak Hysteria
Source:Sawyer Hill
Today, Sawyer Hill – who many consider to be THE one to watch in indie rock – has released his highly anticipated Heartbreak Hysteria EP via (dis)harmony/AWAL. The EP features three brand new songs including new fan favorite “One Shot”- written about that ‘last call’ moment at a bar when you are trying to get up the courage to talk to that person you’ve had your eye on all night long.
The new body of work is an intimate journey through Sawyer’s inner self – exploring the highs and lows, heartbreak and anxiety of life and a unique amalgamation of alternative, rock and timeless post-punk.It was produced by Chris Greatti (Willow, Yungblud, MGK, Poppy) and Suzy Shinn (Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, 5 Seconds of Summer) and features previously released tracks “High On My Lows,” “For The Hell Of It,” and “Need Me Now.” On the road, Sawyer has been performing the new songs live with packed crowds singing back every single word – check out a video of the fan love HERE.
Early praise has been rolling in for Sawyer with early looks from American Songwriter, Ones To Watch, Northern Transmissions and more – not to mention a sold out headline tour where he has been jumping into crowds every night and bringing his special version of rock to the masses. See a highlight from the tour HERE.
The full EP follows recent single “Aiming At My Head” whose official music video features a violent doppelganger crew, with a tragic ending. On the song Sawyer said: “‘Aiming At My Head” is a fuck you letter to friends who let you down. The people who will act completely indifferent to your face, but then go behind your back and tear you down.”
Up next Sawyer will continue on his Heartbreak Hysteria World Tour where he is set to perform at New York’s Bowery Ballroom on April 26th, Nashville’s Exit/In on May 2nd and more before heading overseas. Reflecting on his tour with American Songwriter recently he commented: “When I was growing up, I went to all these basement shows. There was this huge DIY scene here Fayetteville, Arkansas.” Sawyer added, “It was really cool. I saw all of these great shows. That’s kind of the spirit that I wanna bring to everywhere around the country. That same intimate rock show energy that I feel like is kind of missing from rock as a genre these days.” See full tour dates HERE: www.sawyerhillmusic.com.
Sawyer grew up in a very religious Pentecostal Church household, convincing his parents at 14 years old to sign a notarized affidavit that allowed him to play in bars and clubs – as ong as he was playing music and not drinking. Parents placated, he held down a medical tech day job (until he was fired for posting his music on his social media), and performed for a better part of a decade in dive bars and local haunts of greater Northwest Arkansas, until his 2022 released song “Look at the Time” exploded online. The grungy rock hymn was written years earlier. A song that friends would beg him to perform at Lunchapalooza, a lunchtime music jam at his high school. A song that moved his sister to tears while she was listening to him sing it in the bedroom next door. A song that was destined to become a smash hit.
Early in 2024 “Look at the Time” launched him into the stratosphere when it topped Spotify’s Viral 50 chart in the US, hit 65 million views and 120 million video views. The catalyst kicked off a new music career, 10 years in the making. Soon, Sawyer Hill went from playing small local shows to headlining his first-ever US tour, which sold over 15,000 tickets, with sold out dates in Europe and highly praised performances at Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits and Reeperbahm in Germany.
7. Shunkan – Prettier
Source:Shunkan – Topic
Shunkan, the LA-based rock project of Marina Sakimoto, is excited to share “Prettier,” the third single off Kamikaze Girl, her new album out May 6, 2025 via Houston’s Rite Field Records. “Prettier” is packed with meaning, featuring heartfelt lyrics that grapple with self-identity while navigating the complexity of relationships. The song moves from melancholy to anger, communicated by initial slow-pulsing beats that transform into gritty, emotional guitar.
“Originally, Prettier didn’t have a chorus like it does now, and Alex (Newport) really encouraged me to find a melody that would complement the rest of the song,” Sakimoto explains. “I naturally gravitate toward writing bubblegum hooks, and I was worried it might become limiting—but I’ve learned to lean into my strengths while still feeling free to explore. Prettier feels like an exposed nerve, but I hope it resonates with anyone else who feels like they don’t fit into conventions.”
Recorded last year in Joshua Tree, CA and produced by Alex Newport (Death Cab for Cutie, Melvins, The Mountain Goats), the forthcoming record inspects how to put things back together after falling apart. Heralding the announcement was “Hellbound,” a hazy, melancholic track that expects the worst and wants the best. Grounded by Sakimoto’s honeyed vocals, brightly toned guitar riffs reverberate like late-night memories and desire-driven mistakes. Following “Hellbound” came the single “Usual Suspects,” a high-energy, punchy track reminiscent of early 2000s emo. Sakimoto’s powerful voice and heavy guitar riffs center around lyrics that navigate life amid chaos.
Shunkan signed to Rite Field Records last fall and quickly mapped out her first full-length offering since 2019’s Cumberland Falls. Sakimoto first debuted the project in 2014 with her first EP, Honey, Milk and Blood, which earned praise from the likes of DIY, Brooklyn Vegan and Far Out Magazine. Shunkan’s critically acclaimed first LP The Pink Noise, arrived in 2014 with fan favorite tracks, “Garden” and “S.A.D.” This year will mark the release of her most refined and introspective album yet, Kamikaze Girl.
8. Fib – You Ruined Everything
Source:David Dean Burkhart
Philadelphia-based band Fib return today with a third and final single, “You Ruined Everything,” off their upcoming album Heavy Lifting, available April 25, 2025 via the tastemaking Philadelphia label Julia’s War Recordings. Through soft vocals and surges of accented acoustics, the band tells a story of how putting up an easy defense can isolate oneself from the world. The song’s mellow tone, as well as the implication of that self-protective tendency leading to strains and ends of multiple relationships and connections, renders its title less of an accusation and more of a lament.
Today’s release, with “PS” and “Mutuals,” marks the third single from Heavy Lifting, which set the precedent for the band’s shifting soundscape on their debut record. “Mutuals” is both catchy and experimental, acting as a defining opener to the forthcoming LP. “PS” sorts through a disjointed emotional connection and appropriately concludes with a frenetic instrumental breakdown. These songs frame Heavy Lifting as a conversational rumination on the way love and understanding between people can be distorted, and the band’s clever technical artistry makes their somber wonderings feel wry and real.
Upon the announcement of Heavy Lifting, the founder of Julia’s War Recordings and bandleader of They Are Gutting A Body of Water Douglas Dulgarian said the following about Fib via Instagram: “Fib is free jazz in an era where everything else is getting more cookie cutter and snapped to the grid. And that’s what I love most about them. I never know what to expect. It’s completely unique and individual, and although you can certainly hear the influences, I am always completely knocked off-center when I hear or see what they’re creating. If you have ever seen Fib live, you can attest to the fact that it’s one of the most insane experiences possible. I can’t quite explain it and that feels good to know that I can’t.”
Fib debuted in 2021 with a tape of their debut songs, featuring the fan-favorite track, “Bedside.” Heavy Lifting sees the band take their sound to the next level, trading lo-fi recordings for refined riffs while synthesizing post-punk sounds into poppy hooks. Fib is vocalist and guitarist Gage Nelson, guitarist Damien Nicholson, bassist Logan Adam and drummer Charlie Libby Watt, who wrote, recorded and produced Heavy Lifting together.
Immediately following the release of their LP, Fib are hitting the road for a show in Brooklyn at Rabbit Hole and returning for a subsequent show at Philly’s MiniMart. For more information, follow Fib on Instagram (@fib_band).

10. Jae Stephens – SMH
Source:Jae Stephens
Jae Stephens specializes in serving uptempo R&B and pop bangers that feel both classic and contemporary. Today, the Dallas-born singer-songwriter makes a triumphant return, sharing “SMH,” her first new single and music video since last September’s acclaimed SELLOUT EP. Listen HERE and watch HERE.
“SMH” shows off Jae’s skillful melodic approach and pop versatility, as she switches from conversational rhythms to swooning falsettos over syncopated handclaps and spritely synths. Adding a bouncy pop element to her R&B core, the playful new banger finds Jae flipping through her rolodex of “h*es” to find a companion for the night who will bring the most pleasure and least drama: “I got Chris, I met online/Sean aint sh*t but he so fine/I might be theirs, but they ain’t mine/I got so so so so, so many/H*es” she sings. In the video, which features cameos from Maeta, TA Thomas, Brandon Banks, and Larry Van Buren, Jae Stephens host an open audition for the perfect man, studying each with a critical eye until she realizes that she doesn’t have to choose.
A mission statement arriving after spending years as your favorite singer’s favorite singer, SELLOUT was a major moment for Jae Stephens, as she proved that she could write earworms that stand up to any contemporary pop star’s. Blending influences from all eras into six shimmering and seductive tracks, SELLOUT is a playful and energetic change of pace for R&B fans who wish their faves would be less dour and confessional and would just have more fun. Jae happily obliges, eschewing ballads in favor of songs designed to keep hips moving, packed with playful one-liners and buoyant hooks. The EP is home to the glistening “WET,” recognized by Elle as one of the Best Songs of April 2024, “Girls Don’t Cheat,” co-written by Chxrry22 and covered by BET and Rated R&B, and fan-favorite “Body Favors,” which recently passed 1 million streams on Spotify. In the fall, SELLOUT and Jae Stephens earned coverage in PAPER Mag, who called her “the Internet’s Black pop star.” Starting in May, fans can see Jae Stephens live as direct support for FLO on their “AAA Tour.”
With SELLOUT in the rearview, Jae Stephens is planning a new EP to satisfy her JaeBaes and win over new fans. Stay tuned for more announcements in the near future.
11. Ricky Bravo – KILLKILLKILL
Source:Ricky Bravo
DIY hip-hop artist Ricky Bravo just released his new single “KILLKILLKILL!” On the unfiltered anthem of resilience and self-reliance, the introspective rapper is betting on himself and confronting life’s obstacles head-on. Ricky slides on the laid back synth-filled beat as he reflects on his tale of personal triumph – from navigating the challenges of crime to pursuing his dreams. The record is a testament to the strength found in pushing through adversity, shedding the need for validation.
“KILLKILLKILL!” isn’t just a single, it’s a reminder that true growth comes from within and that the only person you really need to trust is yourself. Ricky’s relentless pursuit of success, no matter the challenges, resonates deeply with anyone who’s ever faced hardships and decided to rise above them on their own terms. The song comes off the heels of “MONEY RUN,” a high-energy anthem written in a mere 13 minutes about the relentless pursuit of success and financial freedom. Ricky’s message is clear: success isn’t handed to you; you have to chase it with focus and perseverance. Both tracks will appear on his forthcoming album, TELEGRAM TITAN, alongside previous releases such as the heavily jazz-influenced “JOEY CRACK,” and “DIP,” a sleek, hypnotic blend of airy synths and tight, bouncy drums. Ricky demonstrates his undeniable talent and hunger for success in his On The Radar freestyle, which you can watch here.
Ricky Bravo gives dense rhymes filled with vivid observations and experiences in East New York, Brooklyn while pairing bouncy productions with laid back flows. His medium toned rhyming is unusually empathetic — simultaneously indignant, conversational and dexterous. His songs show him excavating into the motivations of those around him while always looking for answers. Ricky always had love for music coming from a musical family. At the age of 14, he started producing beats for him and his friends to freestyle on before basketball practice. As time went on, many locals were becoming attracted to Ricky’s drum-heavy production. The rapper later went on to produce for artists such as Icewear Vezzo, Lil Zay Osama, Don Q, and more. In 2022, Ricky released his debut single “5% Tint” produced by Billboard producer and close friend Meech Magic. The feedback was immense on the record, which showed Ricky he had a promising future as a musician and he hasn’t looked back since. With over 1.6 million streams across platforms, Ricky Bravo is cementing himself as a rapper to watch.
12. GoGo Penguin – Fallowfield Loops
Source:GoGo Penguin Music
Today, GoGo Penguin, the Manchester trio known for their blend of jazz, classical and electronic influences since forming in 2012, announce their seventh studio album NECESSARY FICTIONS due out June 20. It’s a bold new chapter in the band’s evolution and represents a deep dive into identity, authenticity, and transformation.
Alongside the announcement is the first single “Fallowfield Loops,” a punchy, melancholic, and danceable tribute to their hometown. The accompanying video — directed by pianist Chris Illingworth and bassist Nick Blacka — features evocative visuals of Manchester’s iconic Toast Rack building, the brutalist landmark seen on the album’s cover, and serves as a visual extension of the track’s mood: stark, nostalgic, and full of movement.
GoGo Penguin’s last album Everything Is Going to Be OK (2023) found the band reeling from almost breaking up, a new drummer in the form of Jon Scott (formerly of Mulatu Atsake’s band), coping with the death of family members, grief, the pandemic, and finding solace in the studio as they journeyed through uncertainty, survival and ultimately, resilience.
With NECESSARY FICTIONS, GoGo Penguin — Chris Illingworth (piano, synths), Nick Blacka (bass, synths), and Jon Scott (drums) — have embraced new textures and ideas more fully than ever before. They are operating from a place of confidence, having truly found their groove with Scott, and Illingworth and Blacka both in their fifth decade, and truly embracing who they are without fear. The album sees them expanding their signature sound, drawing deeper into modular synths, and, for the first time, welcoming other voices into their sonic world.
“This is what we want to make right now, and it feels authentic,” says Blacka. NECESSARY FICTIONS is the sound of a band unafraid to reflect who they are — not just in sound, but in spirit and surroundings.
13. Theo Bleak – Said Like A Poet
Source:Theo Bleak
Today, Scottish indie artist Theo Bleak shares her latest single with a stunning official visualizer, “Said Like A Poet,” offers another look into her forthcoming EP, Bad Luck Is Two Yellow Flowers, arriving May 15, 2025 via Polymoon. A sharp and introspective track, “Said Like A Poet” explores the tension between intellect and emotion, questioning the way ideas can be beautifully articulated yet still fall short of true meaning.
“Said Like A Poet is a scathing look at how much I idealize intellect, even though I’m entirely emotionally driven,” Theo Bleak shares. “I think ideas can be beautifully written between people, but ultimately, there are concepts that lack properness—regardless of how pretentiously you write them out. I wrote this song about very human things, things I wish I knew how to ask for.”
Co-written with close collaborators Mark Johnston, Megan McNally, and Dan Gautreau, the song captures Theo Bleak’s signature blend of haunting melodies and poetic lyricism. The track’s layered instrumentals and emotive vocal delivery mirror the push and pull between intellect and raw feeling.
“Said Like A Poet” serves as a perfect sign-off to the upcoming EP,, a project built on themes of longing, superstition, and blurred friendship. “The EP is my imaginings of my friend’s inner life,” Theo Bleak explains. “Each song represents a different facet of our blurry friendship. The title imagery is tied to ideas of superstition, astrology, and the feeling of deep, unwavering longing.”
Following the success of last year’s introspective single “You Said I’d Feel It All Again,” this track, along with last month’s “Peach Sky,” marks another chapter in Theo Bleak’s exploration of raw emotion and dreamlike soundscapes. “Peach Sky” captures the fleeting beauty of a single moment, blending wistful lyricism with the artist’s signature “goth waltz” guitar melodies and lush, layered vocals. Theo Bleak delves into themes of change, longing, and the search for meaning.
December’s “You Said I’d Feel It All Again” garnered widespread support. The single was played on BBC Radio 1’s Future Artists, BBC Radio 2’s Unwinds and was also recognized by multiple editorial playlists such as New Music Friday in the USA, UK, Belgium, Sweden & Netherlands as well as Fresh Folk, All New Pop, and Next Gen Singer-Songwriters. Earlier this month, rising star Rachel Chinouriri played the track on her takeover of BBC Introducing on Radio 1. “Peach Sky” and “Said Like A Poet” hope to have the same impact, adding to the young artist’s impressive repertoire.
Last month, Theo Bleak made her North American debut at New York’s New Colossus Festival. This summer, she will head to various festivals across the United Kingdom, including Brighton’s famed The Great Escape Festival.

Source:Release – Topic
Death Row Records unveils “Mother I Miss You,” a deeply moving new single from gospel legend John P. Kee, serving as the lead, and only, single from the label’s highly anticipated gospel album, Altar Call, releasing April 27.
“Mother I Miss You” is a heartfelt tribute to Beverly Tate, the late mother of Snoop Dogg, whose unwavering love and faith served as the inspiration behind the project. With Kee’s signature moving vocals, the track captures the raw emotion of grief and the enduring power of spiritual connection, offering comfort to anyone who has experienced personal loss.
Reflecting on his relationship with Snoop Dogg and the impact of Beverly Tate, John P. Kee shared: “I’ve known Snoop for a while. One of the things I’ve admired about him over the years has been his love for his mother. He has always honored her in such a way that inspired those that knew him personally to do the same! The amazing thing about this writing assignment was that I wanted to do something for the family during their time of bereavement. Look at God! He made a way for me to honor her by writing this song that definitely represents her love, reverence, honor, and care for her family! Mother Beverly, we will never forget you, Uncle John P Kee”
Altar Call, executive produced by Snoop Dogg, marks a powerful return to gospel for the hip-hop icon and a follow-up to his chart-topping Bible of Love. The 21-track project blends traditional gospel with modern soul, R&B, and hip-hop, creating a rich, contemporary soundscape that honors the genre’s roots while pushing it forward. 24. Valee, Boldy James & MVW – Whatchu Think
Source:Boldy James
Chicago’s avant-garde emcee Valee, Detroit rapper Boldy James, and genre-blurring composer/producer MVW (Michael Vincent Waller) join forces on “Whatchu Think,” a striking new single that pushes the boundaries of contemporary hip-hop. The track serves as a sonic meeting point between raw street ethos and refined, minimalist composition—anchored by MVW’s hypnotic piano work and framed by two of rap’s most distinctive voices.
“Whatchu Think” opens with MVW’s stark neoclassical piano—melancholic, deliberate, and cinematic.Valee starts with his signature nonchalant delivery, warping cadences and subverting expectations with every line. Into that haunting atmosphere steps Boldy James, whose bars paint vivid portraits of life in Detroit with surgical precision. The contrast between the two emcees, held together by MVW’s elegant yet unsettling production, results in a track that’s both minimal and immersive, reflective and menacing.
This collaboration is more than a genre crossover—it’s a statement piece. “Whatchu Think” is introspective hip hop: emotionally resonant, technically daring, and sonically distinct.

29. Sleep Habits – Antique Mall
Source:Sleep Habits
New Orleans musician Sleep Habits, the moniker of Alan Howard, is excited to announce his new EP, Mourning Doves, available May 10, 2025 via NOLA’s DIY scenemaker Kiln Recordings. Out now is lead single, “Antique Mall,” which reflects on the tendency to treasure and archive memories, clinging to conceptions of the past even as life continues to shift. Today’s release aims to make sense of that burden through a combination of hazy, mellow acoustics and focused synths, merging feelings of old and new to reach a point of understanding. The impending EP was heavily influenced by Killers and Stars by Patterson Hood, featuring live recordings and sparse reflections on the past.
“At the time I wrote this song, I was coming to terms with the fact that you can’t carry everything with you throughout your life,” Howard reflects on “Antique Mall.” “The physical space of the antique mall symbolizes that feeling. With that symbol as its base, the song explores allowing yourself to hold onto the reverence of memory and acknowledge how it has shaped you, while letting go of the idealistic sense of the ‘good ol’ days’.”
Also out now is the music video for “Antique Mall,” which features a collection of warm, vintage visuals that reflect the liminal space people often traverse when reflecting back on memories and their sense of identity. Howard encourages viewers to sift through the curious objects featured throughout the track using an “I Spy” list, creating the opportunity to viewers to engage or simply take in shots of the ephemeral mall landscape.
Sleep Habits has been an active project within the New Orleans music scene for several years. Howard’s previous releases include the 2023 EP, Trinkets and Horses, in collaboration with Mariah Houston and the 2022 solo album Ouchie!. Sleep Habits’ music dwells in the space between the organic sounds of acoustic DIY and experimental shoegaze, often resulting in collaboration. Mourning Doves was largely recorded live in the living room of Howard’s friend, Tyler Scurlock. In recording the EP through these live takes alongside Scurlock, Noa Jamir and Quinn Bankston, Mourning Doves aptly captures both the nuanced dynamism of live production and the sound of the space itself.
Sleep Habits will perform later this month at Okay Bar in New Orleans on April 28, 2025 with Kitchen, Melaina Kol, Yung Sham and Alejandro Skalany. For more information and to stay up to date on upcoming shows, follow Sleep Habits on Instagram (@sleephabits).

The lead single “You and Me Time” unites Bay with the GRAMMY® Award-winning icon Sheryl Crow. It marks their first collaboration together. On the track, breezy humming glides over bright acoustic guitar and claps. Uplifted in the swell of an energetic riff and stomping groove, it culminates on a chantable and cheeky chorus as Bay confesses, “All I want is you and me time.” Meanwhile, Crow counters with a flirty verse of her own before leaping into a sky-high harmony on the hook. Then, there’s “The Elephant,” co-written with Holly Humberstone and featuring breakout Nashville singer-songwriter Maggie Antone. A loose guitar lead gives way to softly strummed chords as Bay’s introspective lyrics strike a chord. During the hook, he accepts, “I can run from it, but I can’t hide, see the elephant from every side.” Lightly plucked acoustic guitar brushes up against his delicate and breathy delivery on “Latchkey Kid.” He sets the scene, “Latchkey kid, heart of gold, no one told you that things will turn out alright.”
Bay paved the way for Changes All The Time (Deluxe) with “Sunshine In The Room” featuring 7x-GRAMMY® Award winner, EMMY® Award winner, and Academy® Award winner Jon Batiste. Beyond amassing 3.5 million Spotify streams and counting.

“Man, I’m so proud of this record. It was actually the last track recorded for the album, and I had no plans to include it at first. Shout out to MostWanted—that’s my brother way before the music. He produced the beat, jumped on a verse, and it ended up becoming a single without us even planning it. This song really reflects both mine and MostWanted’s Caribbean roots. It’s a tribute to our Latino culture—Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico—and the deep influence of our heritage. MostWanted has been in my corner for a decade plus and even gave me the microphone I still record with that’s on my album cover.” – MRG
“B.O.M.B.S.” is the second single from MRG’s forthcoming long-awaited debut album It’s MRG Not Mr. G, set to release April 25th. The album will serve as the full-length follow-up to his 2019 project Live From The Hurst 2, the full-length sequel to the Live From The Hurst EP.
33. Farmer’s Wife – Seethe
Source:Farmer’s Wife – Topic
Austin rockers Farmer’s Wife are excited to announce their new EP, Faint Illusions, arriving May 15, 2025. An exploration of what’s real and what’s a figment of our imaginations, the forthcoming EP inspects reality in the context of love along churning guitars and bone-chattering whimsy. “Seethe” premiered last month, with “Mildew” preceding it, sonically previewing what’s to come from the rising group.
Since their inception in 2021, Farmer’s Wife has been a local go-to within Austin’s DIY scene, known for their incendiary performances, swirling guitar riffs and sludgy sound. Their first EP, There’s A Monster, arrived fall of 2023 and solidified their ability to create atmospheric songs that pull the listener in completely, bringing them into their dark fairy tale world. Last year, the group shared new singles “Boheme,” and a cover of Donovan’s “Season of the Witch,” previewing a deep shift in sound before touring around the U.S. with contemporaries like Cloud Nothings, Armlock, and Equipment.
Coming off an explosive tour with Destroy Boys, Farmer’s Wife will hit the road again this spring supporting Boston Manor with Spaced and Ellis. For a full list of dates, see below or visit farmers-wife.com.

35. Chuck D – New Gens
Source:Chuck D – Topic
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame® inductee, Public Enemy Co-Founder, and GRAMMY® Award-winning rap legend Chuck D returns with his first new solo single and video in seven years, “New Gens,” out now via Def Jam Recordings. Listen HERE. Watch HERE. It makes way for his new solo album, Radio Armageddon, arriving on May 18. Pre-save the upcoming album, Radio Armageddon, HERE.
His last solo effort was 2018’s Celebration of Ignorance. However, he’s back with a bang and he’s lyrically firing on all cylinders…
“New Gens” alternates between rowdy horns, scratchy cymbals, samples from old school educational VHS tapes and even pops of distorted guitar. The soundscape proudly throws it back to the Golden Age of hip-hop—which he helped pioneer. At the same time, he adopts a fiery and fresh flow evocative of his signature delivery, yet simultaneously future-facing. He tips his hat to this era as he urges, “And don’t forget, ‘New Gens’, I love y’all, have a ball.” He still remains rap’s most poetic and prescient provocateur though, going on to muse, “We don’t know what’s behind the race, right here right now, the place to be.”
It serves as t–he perfect prelude to Radio Armageddon, a 14-track opus that finds Chuck D in top form. Special guests include Daddy-O of Stetsasonic, Schoolly D, Philadelphia hip hop legend Phill Most Chill, Donald D and Jazzy Jay of the Universal Zulu Nation, hip hop’s first hype woman 1/2 Pint, ULTRAMAG7, NYC’s Miranda Writes and artists from Chuck’s own SpitSLAM Record Label Group: The Impossebulls and Blak Madeen.
Threaded together by transmissions from “Enemy Radio,” he turns the dial to one knockout banger after another. Following the intro “Radio Armageddon,” a jagged guitar riff kickstarts the hard-hitting “What Rock Is.” As if teasing what to expect across the LP, he proclaims, “Philosophy, politics, rebellion, recovery, gimmicks, magic, inspiration, music.” Feedback echoes on “Black Don’t Dead,” and a slick beat bounces in tandem with his incendiary delivery punctuated by elastic rhymes. Among other standouts, “Is God She” layers jarring vocal echoes over a thumping bassline and otherworldly scratching and samples. Chuck D’s razor-sharp cadence cuts through the haze as he wonders, “Is God she?” Then, there’s “Carry On,” which revolves around a classic lyrical masterclass and off-kilter groove. The trip concludes with the broken-sounding synths, warbly sampling, and spacey exhale of “Signing Off,” providing a fitting finale.
Just five years ago, Chuck D and Public Enemy unleashed their 15th album What You Gonna Do When The Grid Goes Down? on Def Jam in 2020. It incited unanimous applause worldwide. Rolling Stone raved, “Chuck D and Flavor Flav summon the steely spirit of their Eighties heyday for a new hour of chaos” and HYPEBEAST hailed it as “triumphant,” going on to praise “the group continues to unapologetically point out the systemic flaws that damage humanity — all while sounding at their best in decades.” NME concurred and summed it up best as “the icons’ finest effort in decades.” It boasts collaborations with Beastie Boys, Cypress Hill, George Clinton, Ice-T, Nas and more.
Now, in 2025, Chuck D continues to look forward and bring the culture with him.

Source:Yeat Music
Alongside the announcement that his forthcoming mixtape Road 2 Riches Vol. 1 will arrive soon, Harlem rap newcomer and “Angelic Drill” originator R2R MOE has just shared a remix to his recent single, “HAWK ‘EM”, featuring Brooklyn rap star Sheff G –– out now along with an accompanying music video. The 3-minute drill hymn gets a fresh perspective, with Sheff G sliding his harmonic verse across the entrancing vocal sample and pace-shifting drums, while R2R MOE weaves his patient delivery into the pockets of the production. The link-up with Sheff G for the “HAWK ‘EM” remix arrives on the heels of a momentous 2024 year that saw R2R MOE earn a transformative co-sign from UK rap royalty, Skepta. What began as cross-continental admiration soon gave way to the collab single “Miss Independent” (12M+ Streams), a seamless fusion of London grime and New York drill, as well as an energetic performance at Skepta’s Big Smoke Festival in London. Late last year, R2R MOE embarked on a tour across Asia, performing in cities like Tokyo, Osaka, and Seoul, connecting with international audiences along the way, and drawing inspiration from an array of cultures –– blooming his already strong musical narrative beyond the streets of New York.
R2R MOE has had a steady yet calculated rise in the rap sphere, garnering buzz with standout tracks like “9 LIVES”, “FAIR2ME2”, and “FACE2FACE”, the latter of which featured Cash Cobain, Vontee the Singer, and Chow Lee. The Harlem artist also caught the spotlight with his recent sold-out NYC headline show and On The Radar performance. Through it all, his work ethic has been beyond astute, with the rapper releasing 28 tracks on his SoundCloud in 2024 alone and kicking off 2025 with new releases “PLUTO” (feat. Highway) and “PROGRESSION”. Now with the “HAWK ‘EM” remix, R2R MOE is continuing to challenge rap’s status quo — bringing a melodic take and blue-collar lyricism to his city’s sound.

Straight from the Smith Houses near the famous Brooklyn Bridge, Wu-Tang’s next-gen exudes the same magnetic aura that made their parents cultural icons. 42. King Iso – Travis O’Guin
Source:Strange Music Inc
Making a monumental return in style, King Iso bosses up on an unshakable and undeniable new single and music video entitled “Travis O’Guin” out now via Strange Music. Listen HERE and watch the music video HERE.
The track layers cinematic violin over a thumping bass-heavy beat. King Iso gets into C.E.O. mode as he pays homage to Strange Music Co-Founder and Co-Owner Travis O’Guin with a rich lyrical display. He alternates his flow between cocky and charismatic verses in between a rapid-fire bridge. However, the song hinges on the hard-hitting and hypnotic chant, “I’m self-made, money long, call me Travis O’Guin.” The visual depicts a dream day-in-the-life of a hip-hop mogul with plaques across the walls, foreign cars in the driveway, women by the pool, and the man himself makes a cameo at the end.
“Travis O’Guin” marks Iso’s first new music since the arrival of his latest album iLLdren back in 2023. The latter piled up millions of streams fueled by “Feel” [feat. Tech N9ne & Matt Phoenix], “Nightmare,” and more. Upon release, V13 touted iLLdren, while Music Existence also plugged it. Underground Hip Hop Blog rated it “9-out-of-10,” going on to rave, “there is no question in my mind that this dude has become the best artist on Strange Music other than Tech himself for the way he addresses topics that aren’t covered too often in hip-hop today like mental health.” Folk N Rock summed it up best as “one of the most powerful albums this year.”
Next up, he headlines the More Group Therapy Tour across North America joined by Taebo Tha Truth, A-Wax, and Snake Lucci. It kicks off on May 8 at Record Bar in Kansas City, MO, canvases the country, and concludes on June 29 at The Gem in Idaho Falls, ID.

The “created in Fortnite” concert builds on Sleepy’s recent huge success with the viral resurgence of his hit single “Anxiety” with Doechii, which peaked at No. 45 on the Billboard Hot 100 with over 29 million streams to date worldwide. The breakout success follows his recent release of single “Margaret” and a strong 2024 for the rapper, which included a consistent roll of releases and his year-end LP, ‘Read This When You Wake Up’ (153M+ streams), inclusive of the lead single “She Like (Fashion).” The LP boasted 20 tracks, including features from Babyface Ray on “Top Tier,” Jay Bezzy on “Like Practice” and “Back to LA.” With the AMA-winning and Grammy-nominated producer and recording artist, Great John’s executive production touch throughout the LP, the album saw Sleepy collaborate with rising MC Dracodontjam on “Ain’t Nuthin,” and even rejoining forces with labelmate Sheff G, on “Call Me.” Across his catalog, Sleepy Hallow possesses a flurry of RIAA certifications, including the triple platinum hit single “2055” and the platinum “Deep End Freestyle” featuring alternative singer Foushee, the latter landing on the Hot 100 and solidifying the rapper’s mainstream appeal. 45. Psiryn – The Softest
Source:Psiryn
After making history as the first R&B girl group in over two decades to top Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart with their breakout single Sober, Psiryn returns with intention. Their new single The Softest revisits Xscape’s beloved ballad The Softest Place on Earth, blending 90s nostalgia with today’s unapologetic softness and sensuality. Listen HERE.
Produced by T-Nyce and written by Ashun, the record was crafted to feel intimate, layered, and modern. The track was brought to Kandi Burruss, one of the original members of Xscape, who partnered with longtime collaborator Jonathan “Jay-O” Henry and vocal producer Brandin Jay to reimagine the song for a new generation.
When Kandi introduced the song to Psiryn (Anaya Chayenne, Jada Denise, and Victoria McQueen), the energy was instant. There was no overthinking, no hesitation—just three voices fully in sync with a moment they knew was bigger than the music.
The Softest is not just a remake. It is a continuation. A slow-burning, harmony-rich record that draws listeners into a space where vulnerability, pleasure, and power all exist in equal measure. The group’s vocal chemistry meets the song’s emotional depth, creating something that feels both familiar and completely new.
Since its release, The Softest has also been gaining major playlist traction. The song is currently featured on Spotify’s R&B Weekly and several key Apple Music playlists including Emerging R&B Songs, Best New R&B Songs, New in R&B, and Day One. This early support reflects the song’s growing cultural resonance and the industry’s recognition of Psiryn’s staying power.
Psiryn’s approach is intentional. Where Sober was raw and reflective, The Softest leans into sensuality and self-awareness. This release marks the group’s evolution, not just as rising charting artists but as cultural storytellers defining what softness means on their own terms.

In 2022, Rogers shared his Love EP, which included numerous standout tracks such as “Lavender Forever,” “Hindsight,” and “Dark Bird.” In 2023, he hit the road to support Kesha on her North American tour, releasing the healing anthem “Window” around that time. Now, with an entire album’s worth of new music on the horizon, Rogers returns to his mission of sharing a message of love, defiance, and — most importantly — hope.

Holler Country already touted him among “25 New Artists for 2025,” promising, “Rinker is no doubt going places.” Meanwhile, the fan favorite “Save My Soul” has eclipsed 27 million total streams thus far, thanks in part to a recent sync on CBS’ popular TV series, Fire Country. His entirely self-produced 2024 After Dark EP followed his 2023 breakout single “Off My Mind,” showcasing his seamless folk-pop blend with confessional lyrics that captivate. Buzzing out of the mountains of central California, Noah initially made waves online, posting covers and originals on TikTok. He enraptured listeners with a stripped-down sense of soul, conveyed through shuddering acoustic guitar chords and stark lyricism punctuated by his vulnerability and storytelling. This approach attracted hundreds of thousands of followers in addition to generating north of 5 million likes on TikTok. 49. Michael Marcagi – Midwest Kid
Source:Michael Marcagi
Globally acclaimed, Platinum-certified singer-songwriter and storyteller Michael Marcagi releases his highly-anticipated new Midwest Kid EP today via Warner Records. Listen HERE.
The 5-song EP opens with standout track “Wish I Never Met You” featuring Wesley Schultz of The Lumineers. Piano, tambourine, and sunny whistling brighten up the soundscape as Marcagi and Schultz lock into a magnetically melodic back-and-forth. It culminates on a chantable chorus, “It’s better to love you as I lose you. I don’t miss you. I wish I never met you at all.” Among other highlights, “Stick Around” swells from soft acoustic guitar-laden verses into a seismic refrain, “Cause I won’t go if you just stick around, and all my friends are leaving this town.”
Ultimately, the project not only places Marcagi’s vivid and vibrant songcraft front-and-center, but it also affirms his status as one of the most talked-about artists to watch over the past year. Across these tracks, he shows listeners where he came from and where he’s headed as one of the brightest and fastest-rising young songwriters of his generation.
“My new EP, ‘Midwest Kid’ includes 5 songs with a very similar theme,” Marcagi explains. ”It’s about the place I was born, raised, and still call home. I’m very proud of where I’m from and I hope to carry that with me forever.”
He paved the way for the EP’s arrival with recent audience favorites “Follows You” and “Flyover State.” Last month, Marcagi delivered an impassioned performance of “Flyover State” on Jimmy Kimmel Live! — watch it HERE. He also dropped by CBS Mornings to perform it on Saturday Sessions.
Plus, Holler hailed lead single “Midwest Kid” as a “nostalgic, uptempo earworm,” before noting, “Michael Marcagi continues to cement himself as one of the most exciting new voices in the folk rock landscape.”

50. Zzz. – 1
Source:Zzz.
Miami artist Zzz. returns with the euphoric new single “1.” With an alternative edge that finds the Florida native showcasing his raw introspection, “1” marks Zzz.’s first drop of 2025 and opens up new sonic horizons for the emerging phenom. Listen HERE and watch HERE via Warner Records.
Zzz. takes lovesickness to new heights on “1,” comparing the feelings of infatuation to the rush of intoxicants. The track is constantly evolving, from grungy guitar and trap drums to bright synths and yearning in the vocals. The song’s black-and-white video depicts Zzz. seemingly getting out of his head outside in the middle of the night. Flashing lights emphasize the twists and turns of the production and the rollercoaster of emotion.
Zzz. spoke on his new single: “‘1’ is a nostalgic grunge rock song that you’ve never heard before. My favorite way to make a song is by giving people the unexpected. Hope y’all enjoy! More on the way.”
“1” follows Zzz.’s vulnerable and visceral “scared to fall asleep” and heartbroken “u don’t care no more” — companion pieces that captured his raw talent and gift for intensity. Last year Zzz. released his debut EP, SAM, which included singles “NOTHING 2 U” and “WHEN U WRONG” featuring No Cap, not to mention production from Travis Barker and Marshmello. Before that came notable tracks like “Fly,” and “Sad and Alone” with Trippie Redd.
With a voice that can travel from a low-key coo to a soul-shaking cry and a unique ability to bend genres, Zzz. has established himself as a rule-breaker with a knack for creating bold soundscapes for his wholly unfiltered anthems. “1” hints that the best is yet to come.

GRAMMY®-nominated singer, songwriter, and producer Alex Isley invites listeners deeper into her sonic universe with the release of her lush, emotionally rich new EP, WHEN — out now via Free Lunch Records / Warner Records. A masterclass in soulful vulnerability and sensual restraint, WHEN is Alex at her most refined and revelatory. The seven-track project includes the hypnotic focus track “Mic On,” produced by GRAMMY®-winning artist Kaytranada, and showcases production from the acclaimed Camper (Brandy, H.E.R., Coco Jones), adding new layers of texture and intention to Alex’s signature sound. LISTEN HERE.
Alex previously shared the slow-burning gem “Hands,” an intimate track that invites listeners into a dreamlike world of longing and deep connection. The single received overwhelming praise from outlets such as Billboard, Rolling Stone, Entertainment Tonight, Essence, Elle, Rated R&B, and VIBE, among others. Her most recent release, “Ms. Goody Two Shoes,” was also met with immense critical acclaim and social chatter that culminated with a fan activation in Beverly Hills.
About the EP, Alex shares, “WHEN is an exploration of love, identity, intimacy, and emotional growth—it’s a collection of some of my deepest thoughts, dreams, and memories, and the beginning of me leaning more into my sensuality.”
WHEN introduces Alex’s sonic universe with a labyrinth of synths and soulful production. Spanning six tracks, the EP is packed with emotional candor, projecting an alluring interplay of vulnerability and romance. Her signature rich, airy vocals fit comfortably into varied soundscapes from Camper (“Hands”) and Kaytranada (“Mic On”), cast against candid depictions of the singer-songwriter’s thoughts, dreams, and memories.
Earlier this week, Alex hosted a private listening event to preview WHEN before its release. The event, which was carefully curated alongside renowned designer Jessica Rich, doubled as an activation for her beloved fans and a birthday celebration for the “Ms. Goody Two Shoes” singer. But the festivities didn’t end there, as Alex also held a launch party for her new EP, joined by industry peers, tastemakers, media personalities, and a select group of fans. Photos HERE.
The new EP follows Alex’s joint album, I Left My Heart In Ladera (2023), with producer and musician Terrace Martin. The collaborative release earned Alex her first Billboard entry, debuting at No. 2 on the Contemporary Jazz Albums chart.
WHEN is an exploration of love, identity, intimacy, and emotional growth. It captures the vulnerability of searching for clarity, the quiet power of owning your sensuality, the pride in staying rooted, and the ache of connections that never last long enough. There’s a deep, palpable longing here – physical, emotional,l and somewhere in between – as Alex moves through the blurred lines of reality and imagination.
Since her self-produced debut, Love/Art Memoirs, Alex’s prestige has grown considerably. She has consistently delivered undeniable melodies that resonate with fans worldwide, proven repeatedly with solo releases and high-profile collaborations. Now, WHEN marks the early stages of what’s shaping up to be a prolific run for an indelible voice in R&B – further cementing her status as a once-in-a-generation artist.
