Megan Thee Stallion is proving once again that she’s not just a chart-topping rapper, she’s a full-fledged mogul. The Houston native announced this week that she’s officially opening her very own Popeyes restaurant. Read more and watch the viral video inside to see her transform into Meg Thee Builder.
Meg is one of the few celebrities to cross over into franchise ownership with the iconic fast food chain. Notable celebrities like Rick Ross and his many Wingstop franchises have paved the way for young artists to follow suit with establishing businesses outside of the music industry.
In a video shared across her social media platforms, Megan can be seen touring the construction site of her soon-to-be Popeyes. She sports a cropped white tee, low-rise jeans, and an orange hard hat, because even Hot Girls need PPE on the job site.
“I just visited my location while she’s still just bones,” she wrote in the caption. “This is abt to be THEE LITTEST Popeyes ever.”
The reveal comes with more excitement: the return of Megan’s signature “Hottie Sauce,” the sweet-and-spicy condiment she originally introduced in 2021 as part of her initial collaboration with Popeyes. The sauce was a major hit, accompanying limited-edition merch and a philanthropic partnership that included a six-figure donation to Houston Random Acts of Kindness. That same year, Megan also officially became a Popeyes franchisee.
Now, three years later, she’s nearly ready to open the doors to her own location. Safe to say, Meg’s business acumen is just as sharp as her lyrics.
“Teaming up with Popeyes is such a milestone in my journey and evolution as an entrepreneur,” Megan shared in a past statement to Vibe. “I’ve always been a fan of the Popeyes brand, and I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to join the brand and help create the new Megan Thee Stallion Hottie Sauce.”
Bruno Cardinali, Chief Marketing Officer for Popeyes, highlighted why the partnership works so well. “We have a lot in common with Megan Thee Stallion — from our southern roots to our shared love for flavor with a lot of spice,” he said.
From music to merch to mouthwatering chicken, Megan is expanding her empire on all fronts. Fans are already counting down the days until “Thee Littest Popeyes” opens its doors—and if the sauce is anything like her music, it’s bound to be bold, hot, and unforgettable.
Hot Girl Summer just got a little spicier.
