Flavor of Love. Love Is Blind. Love & Hip-Hop. We now might have to add Island of Temptations/La Isla se las Tentaciones to the list of reality shows that have blessed us with insane viral moments that we will never forget. The Spanish edition of the series, which is in its eighth season, loosely follows the same format as the American TV show Temptation Island. Five couples travel to the Dominican Republic with the purpose of testing their relationships while living separately in two luxurious villas with a group of single men and women known as ‘tempters.’ What’s the worst that could happen right? That’s probably exactly what show contestant José Carlos Montoya thought. He couldn’t have expected to be a trending topic on all of social media…at least not for the reason he is.

Montoya went on the show with his “first love” Anita and things took an unexpected turn for the worse. All hell broke loose when Anita witnessed Montoya getting a lap dance from a woman then proceeding to kiss her. She decided to match her counterpart’s energy and began to flirt with a single man named Miguel. An angry Montoya then throws the iPad that he’s using to watch the footage on. Things turnt up even more when show host Sandra Barneda took Montoya out of the resort to show him how things were escalating between Anita and Manuel across the beach. Montoya is immediately devastated even more as he watches Anita kiss Manuel, turn off the lights, get under the covers and begin to make love. An irate Montoya can’t take anymore and begins to sprint across the beach yelling his lover’s name, all while literal lightning is striking outside. The most famous phrase of the scene comes as Barneda tries to calm Montoya down by saying “Montoya! Por Favor!” Anita hears Montoya and quickly hops off of Manuel. After she sees Montoya hysterically screaming “Why?,” Anita feels remorse. She chases Montoya, as she begs for forgiveness and requests that they go home.
