If there is one thing that we know is important to Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges, it’s family. This was on full display this week (May 18) when he received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The Fast X actor celebrated the achievement with his actual family (his wife Eudoxie Bridges and four daughters Chance, Cadence, Cai, and Karma) and some of his work family (cast members of the Fast & Furious franchise) in attendance.

VIn Diesel was among the Fast & Furious cast members that showed up to help Ludacris commemorate the milestone. He took a few minutes to applaud his longtime co-star for all his accomplishments before introducing a surprise special guest. It turns out that his Ludacris thought his eldest daughter Karma would be across the country at a school event. In actuality, she was backstage waiting for the moment that she could deliver her heartfelt speech to her father. She expressed how important it was for her to be there. “To my rock, my hero, my dad, words can’t describe how much being here for you today means to me.”

She continued by explaining how even though she had him thinking otherwise, her plan always was to be there. “After receiving your text on Thursday asking if I could make it to LA for your Hollywood star, it took everything in me to come up with an excuse of why I couldn’t make it here today,” Karma told her father. “The truth is, I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”

The speech ended with her saying, “Congratulations to a legend of an artist and a legend of a father.”

Ludacris receiving his Hollywood star is just one of the big things happening for him this week. Fast X, the tenth film in the Fast & Furious Saga, launches the final chapters of one of cinema’s most storied and popular global franchises today (May 19). The franchise is now in its third decade and is still going strong with the same core cast and characters as when it began.

Over many missions and against impossible odds, Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his family have outsmarted, out-nerved and outdriven every foe in their path. Now, they confront the most lethal opponent they’ve ever faced: A terrifying threat emerging from the shadows of the past who’s fueled by blood revenge, and who is determined to shatter this family and destroy everything—and everyone—that Dom loves, forever.

Directed by Louis Leterrier (Clash of the TitansThe Incredible Hulk), Fast X stars returning cast members Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Jason Statham, John Cena and Scott Eastwood, with Oscar winner Helen Mirren and Oscar winner Charlize Theron.
