Compassionate, dependable, and deeply loyal, Bridgette is the quiet backbone of God’s Light Christian Church, serving faithfully as Rasheda’s trusted assistant. A devoted friend with a heart for service, she balances grace and grit in equal measure.

While her face continues to grace both the big and small screens in some of the biggest TV and film projects in her portrayal of countless characters, one may still ask just who is Jennifer Sears. Her humble beginnings in Paterson, NJ, and later Dublin, GA equipped her with the inner-city grit and southern charm, respectively, which shaped her into the multifaceted, multihyphenated powerhouse she is today. Actress/activist/humanitarian/philanthropist – Sears has invested 20 years in the TV and film industry, and her journey into the business was a rather unconventional one. As a graduate of Clark Atlanta University with a B.A. in political science, Sears initially had her sights set on a career in law; however, while at a proverbial crossroads, her longing for the arts and artistic expression led her in a different direction. When creative passion met opportunity, an artist was born. That serendipitous moment was her attending a casting call and booking an unforgettable role in 2006 box-office hit Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Family Reunion. That pivotal moment catapulted her career into a stratosphere unfathomable. Since her debut, Sears has led a trailblazing TV and film career, working alongside some of the industry’s most astounding talent, earning accolades and recognition for her outstanding performances. Some of her most notable work is multiple, award-winning HBO’s TV film Bessie, OWN’s drama series Greenleaf, a recurring role on STARZ Network hit series BMF, lead role in TVOne’s action thriller FIRST COMES LOVE THEN COMES MURDER, and another lead role in the psychological thriller TWISTED MARRIAGE THERAPIST, amongst other blockbuster projects. Sears has been featured in numerous editorials such as The New York Post, an exclusive in PEOPLE Magazine, FORBES, and her first cover story published in PUMP Fashion Magazine, amongst several other features. Although Sears is undoubtedly making her Mark in the entertainment industry, it is her passion for philanthropy, humanitarianism, and service that makes her truly influential not only in her industry but in the world. Recently named and honored as one of the Most Powerful Women in Metro Atlanta by ATL Plus Magazine, Sears substantiates this worthy honor through her endless philanthropic contributions and Community outreach initiatives. Often quoting the Luke 12:48 scripture “to whom much is given, from him much will be required”, Sears looks at the wonderful opportunities she’s been afforded as a means to facilitate the realization of opportunities to marginalized individuals and underserved communities through mentorships, endorsements, and her partnership with several organizations such as Restore Haiti, with whom she’s traveled to Haiti; on mission trips and has sponsored children in Haiti; for over 10 years, Compassion International, through whom she sponsors a child in Burkina Faso, Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) which provides meals to children and families globally, Atlanta Mission, which provides services to the unhoused men, women, and children in the Atlanta communities, and several other organizations. Sears also believes in lending her voice, influence, and resources to invoke social, economic, and political change in the U.S. and abroad. While she considers her acting career to be a tremendous blessing, she believes its purpose is much greater than her or her own personal fulfillment. She deems it a platform to use her influence for the greater good and a means through which she is to impact the world for the glory of God. While Sears has no intention of slowing down career-wise anytime soon, she will always make; me for philanthropy and social activism, lending her voice, resources, and influence to countless worthy causes, remaining true to her political science roots and being a true maverick in all walks of life.
