As the 82nd Golden Globe Awards approach, all eyes are on the records that could be shattered during the 2025 ceremony. VegasInsider has compiled an exciting list of over 30 potential milestones. Check out some of these potential historic record wins inside.

Historic Wins in Film Categories

Among the most anticipated contenders, Emilia Pérez could break La La Land’s record of seven wins during a single ceremony. With ten nominations, including double nods in two categories, this musical drama might redefine Golden Globes history.

In acting, Kate Winslet has the chance to win two acting Globes for separate performances (Lee and The Regime), a feat she first accomplished back in 2010. A double victory would elevate her to the rare club of seven acting awards, second only to Meryl Streep.

Sebastian Stan could make history as the first male actor to win two acting Globes in one night for leading roles in The Apprentice and A Different Man.

Additionally, Wicked star Cynthia Erivo or Challengers’ Zendaya could become only the second Black actress to win Best Actress in a Motion Picture in a Comedy/Musical, a milestone 30 years in the making since Angela Bassett’s 1994 win.

More Milestones for Representation

Hiroyuki Sanada (Shōgun) could be the first Japanese actor to win Best Actor in a Drama Television Series. Payal Kapadia (All We Imagine as Light) might become the first Indian filmmaker to win Best Director. Karla Sofía Gascón (Emilia Pérez) could also break barriers as the first transgender actress to win in a lead film category.

Television Triumphs

In TV, Quinta Brunson (Abbott Elementary) and Ayo Edebiri (The Bear) could set a precedent as the first Black actresses to win twice for Best Actress in a Comedy Series. Meanwhile, Jeremy Allen White (The Bear) could join the likes of Michael J. Fox and Alan Alda by winning Best Actor in a Comedy Series three years in a row.

A Night of Possibilities

From Inside Out 2 potentially becoming the first animated sequel to win Best Animated Feature to Hans Zimmer tying for the most wins in Best Original Score, the night promises thrilling surprises.

All eyes will be on these milestones as the entertainment world celebrates excellence on January 5, 2025. For a comprehensive list of potential records, visit Vegas Insider’s website.
