WalkGood LA returns to the heart of Los Angeles with its second annual FilmGood and Wellness Festival starting tomorrow (Dec. 11). Read more about this unique program of events and check out the lineup inside.

FilmGood’s second annual festival takes place December 11-15, 2024 at The WalkGood Yard in Los Angeles. This unique event merges the worlds of film and wellness, with an emphasis on underrepresented voices. It will also focus on fostering community connections through storytelling and healing practices like the overall mission of WalkGood. Founder and CEO Etienne Maurice describes the festival as a space for holistic growth.

“FilmGood isn’t merely a platform for movies,” Maurice shared in a statement. “It’s a celebration of humanity. We believe the path forward lies in healing ourselves and our communities through the narratives we tell.”

The festival features an all-star lineup of filmmakers and creators from Sheryl Lee Ralph, Lena Waithe, Jharrel Jerome and Morgan Cooper to name a few.

This year’s festival boasts an exciting lineup of events:

Opening Day Highlights (Dec. 11)

The festival kicks off with RunGood, a community 5K run and 2-mile walk presented by Amazon MGM Studios and UNSTOPPABLE, featuring giveaways from Bricks & Wood. The evening continues with a complimentary screening of Unstoppable at Baldwin Hills Cinemark Theater, followed by a Q&A with Emmy winner Jharrel Jerome.

Spotlighting Black Excellence (Dec. 12 & 14)

A 30th anniversary screening of Jason’s Lyric sets the stage for in-depth conversations with its creators. Saturday delivers wellness programming, panels on Black animation and comedy featuring industry legends like Sheryl Lee Ralph and Bruce Smith, and a feature presentation of Mistletoe & Matrimony with a live Q&A.

Inspiring the Next Generation (Dec. 15)

Sunday brings a hands-on Actor’s Workshop led by Myles Bullock, a Legacy Talk screening and Q&A with Lena Waithe, and a Director Masterclass featuring Morgan Cooper (Bel-Air) and Denzel Whitaker (Black Panther).
