The highly anticipated live action film, Mufasa: The Lion King, directed by Barry Jenkins offers fans a nostalgic journey back to Pride Rock’s origins. This new trailer reveals a glimpse of the franchise’s beloved characters like Mufasa, Scar, Sarabi, Rafiki, and Zazu before they became the figures we know. Set to hit theaters on December 20, 2024, Mufasa will recount the tale of Mufasa’s rise to the throne, told through flashbacks by Rafiki to young Kiara, Simba’s daughter.
The film features an impressive cast, including Aaron Pierre as Mufasa, Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Taka (Scar), and a voice lineup that brings to life a mix of young and seasoned lions, along with the iconic duo Timon and Pumbaa, voiced again by Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner.
The plot reveals Mufasa’s challenging early days as an orphaned cub who finds a loyal friend in Taka, which sets off an adventurous journey that forges Mufasa’s future as king.
