Earlier this week (June 11th), hip-hop icons Fat Joe and Jadakiss partnered with New York City hotspot Sei Less restaurant to host a special Father’s Day luncheon! Continue reading to find out more about the event and to check out some photos.

The purpose of the private luncheon, which was held at Sei Less in Manhattan, was to uplift 70 fathers (along with their spouses and kids) who have been adversely impacted by the criminal justice system. The two New York natives treated the fathers to some of the restaurant’s most popular menu items including chicken satays, vegetable spring rolls, crispy chicken wontons, filet mignon & broccoli, beijing chicken, vegetable lo mein and chicken fried rice.  

Joe, Jada, and Sei Less co-founder Dara Mirjahangiry teamed up with REFORM Alliance to ensure the fathers and their families had a Father’s Day celebration to remember. Throughout the afternoon, Fat Joe and Jadakiss connected with guests, listened to their stories overcoming adversity, shared words of wisdom, took photos with the attendees, creating an empowering experience. Some of the fathers even played their music for the two award-winning musicians.

Speaking on the event, Mirjahangiry said, “Working with Fat Joe, Jadakiss and REFORM to celebrate these fathers at Sei Less was truly special. Ahead of Father’s Day, we really wanted to shine a light on these fathers who have been impacted by the criminal justice system and support their re-entry journey with compassion. It was a powerful way to bond through culture, community and cuisine.”

This gathering was right up the REFORM Alliance’s alley. The organization is committed to transforming probation and parole throughout the United States by changing laws, systems, and culture. The organization is focused on replacing America’s punitive criminal justice system with a restorative approach that is fair, accountable, and centered on rehabilitation.  

Sei Less was the perfect setting to hold the gathering. The acclaimed Asian Fusion restaurant, which opened in NYC in January 2022, has quickly become a go-to destination for A-list names in music, sports, and entertainment including Cardi B, Kevin Hart, Mark Wahlberg, Travis Scott, J. Cole, Kevin Durant, La La Anthony, and many more. The restaurant has a growing track record of philanthropic community engagement. Most recently, Bronx rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie teamed up with Sei Less to host a Thanksgiving dinner for 50 teens from Children of Promise, NYC.
