If you’re one of the countless people worldwide who are hungry for another season of FX’s hit series ‘The Bear,’ you’re in luck. This week (November 6), it was announced that the restaurant comedy drama series has been renewed for a third season. It shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone considering the reception that the second season got.
‘The Bear’ stars Jeremy Allen White as Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto. After the suicide of his older brother, Carmy leaves behind his world of working in a Michelin star restaurant and returns home to Chicago to inherit his family’s Italian beef sandwich shop. He is left to deal with his brother’s unresolved debts, a rundown kitchen and an unruly staff while dealing with his own pain and family trauma.
Season two saw the team reconstruct their hole in the wall sandwich spot into a top-tier dining experience. Not only were they forced to strip the restaurant down to its core in order to rebuild it, they were also challenged to look in the mirror and go through their own personal life-changing journeys. The second season of ‘The Bear’ surpassed the heights set by the first season (which is nominated for 13 Emmy Awards) and became a cultural phenomenon that fans couldn’t get enough of.
In addition to White, ‘The Bear’ stars Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce and Liza Colón-Zayas. Matty Matheson was also upped for season 2, while Edwin Lee Gibson, Corey Hendrix, Oliver Platt, Jon Bernthal, José Cervantes, Richard Esteras, Carmen Christopher, Chris Witaske, Joel McHale, Jamie Lee Curtis, Gillian Jacobs, Robert Townsend, Molly Gordon, Alex Moffat, Ricky Staffieri, Mitra Jouhari and Maura Kidwell recur.
Christopher Storer created the show and serves as an executive producer alongside Joanna Calo, Hiro Murai of Super Frog, Josh Senior and Matty Matheson. Tyson Bidner serves as producer of the FX Productions produced series. When ‘The Bear’ debuted back in 2022, its success caught people off guard. Now, after two ultra successful seasons that were lauded for their writing, acting and directing, fans are expecting huge things from the looming third season. Congrats to the whole cast, crew and team on being renewed! We can’t wait to see what’s next! Stay tuned to find out more details as they’re released. If you’ve missed either season, check them both out on Hulu!
