Fat Beats Records recently celebrated its 30th anniversary with a spectacular event in Hollywood on Sunday, September 8, 2024. Kool Keith headlined the celebration, joined by Ras Kass. The lineup also featured Q-nique, Defari, Self Scientific, and a memorable reunion performance by Strong Arm Steady. Special guest J the Wild Child of the Loot Pack added an extra layer of excitement to the festivities. The festival also showcased elements of hip-hop culture, including turntablism and breakdancing, which further enhanced the event’s energy and authenticity. The night was hosted by Dj. Mr Choc of the Beat Junkies and Fuzzy the Connector.

Founded in 1994 in New York, Fat Beats initially made a name for itself with its physical stores in both NY and LA. Although it closed its physical doors in 2010, the label continues to support the underground hip-hop community through its online presence and remains active in artist promotion and distribution.

Young Hump of Digital Underground made a high-energy guest appearance, electrifying the crowd with his dynamic presence. Blu also graced the stage alongside DJ Exile, adding to the event’s excitement. West Coast legend Planet Asia made a memorable cameo, further enriching the night with his legendary status.

Q-Qinue of the Arsonist and Defari showcased their classic catalogs, while Chace Infinite delivered a memorable performance. The night was unforgettable, highlighting an amazing fusion of East Coast and West Coast talent.

Wild Child of Loot Pack surprised the crowd with a mix of classic hits and upcoming material, giving fans a thrilling preview of what’s to come. His performance was a standout moment, blending nostalgia with exciting new content set to be released soon.

Phil the Agony and Mitchy Slick made a memorable comeback in Los Angeles with their iconic reunion under Strong Arm Steady. SAS brought an electrifying energy to the city, pumping up the crowd and delivering a standout performance.
