Easton, Pennsylvania emcee Godilla has officially returned to the hip-hop landscape, enlisting producer Native Born to craft his second extended play and debut under the Omega Level Records banner. The release marks a significant milestone for the artist, who has been largely absent from the scene since his prolific run in 2017.

Godilla first made waves in 2014 with the collaborative effort They Came on Horseback alongside Eff Yoo. He followed that with his full-length debut, The Altered Beast, and the 2017 project Battlebeast: A Prelude to Human Zoo, as well as the EP Cerveza. Nearly a decade later, he is back with Prismas Electricos, a project that signals a mature, refined approach to his craft.

The EP opens with the “Channel Surfing” intro, leading directly into the rugged lead single “??What’s This??,” which showcases 90 seconds of sharp, hardcore penmanship. The project balances modern sensibilities with golden-era nostalgia, particularly on tracks like “88MPH.” Meanwhile, “Bubble Letter Glyphs” serves as a heartfelt dedication to the art of writing, anchored by a soulful piano flip. The second half of the project kicks off with “Starscream’s Ghost,” a track that finds Godilla in an aggressive, confrontational mood.

The project features select guest appearances from Mr. Misk and Tone Liv on the track “Terror Ink,” which pairs cutthroat lyricism with a dreary, boom-bap instrumental. The EP concludes with “Blind Focus,” a poignant reflection on the importance of artistic independence in an industry dominated by major labels.
