Washington, D.C. emcee of Nigerian descent FlyG is back for his 10th EP, continuing a prolific run that has solidified his place in the underground scene. After introducing himself with Soulful Journey and collaborating with SPCL_CHRCTRS on Serenade Symphony, FlyG found a perfect creative partner in rising French producer Drega33. Following their initial work on MENNBLVCK and the subsequent MENNBLVCK II, the duo has returned to deliver MENNBLVCK III, a project that proves their collaborative chemistry is stronger than ever.

The project opens with “Du$ty Roads,” a funky homage to the legendary professional wrestler Dusty Rhodes, setting a high-energy tone before the EP shifts into the soulful, drumless territory that has become a hallmark of the series. Tracks like “F.T.$ho” highlight FlyG’s technical prowess, stripping away percussion to place his intricate wordplay front and center. This minimalist approach allows the listener to fully appreciate the narrative depth FlyG brings to his songwriting.

Throughout the EP, the storytelling remains vivid and personal. On “B@rry Bonds at Luger $teaks,” FlyG recounts a frustrating dining experience that serves as a backdrop for his lyrical observations, while “Luxurious Abilitie$” explores the narrow, often difficult pathways to success. The second half of the project, anchored by “Eye$ Closed,” maintains a reflective atmosphere, discussing the inevitable changes that come with time and growth.

As the trilogy nears its conclusion, “Bro@dway” offers a poignant look at the current state of the industry, while “Keep Tryin’” balances artistic mastery with the relatable struggles of personal relationships. The project concludes with “$un Mediation Methods,” a drumless closer that emphasizes the importance of self-reliance and developing one’s own unique path.

With a score of 8/10, MENNBLVCK III stands as some of FlyG’s most compelling work to date. Fans of the series will be pleased to know that the saga is far from over, with MENNBLVCK 4EVER already slated for the second half of 2026. By carrying over the soulfully drumless production and sharp songwriting that defined its predecessors, this EP cements the legacy of one of the most consistent partnerships in modern underground hip hop.
