This past Saturday, August 17th, the Torch at LA Coliseum hosted Rhyme Fest 2024. The Coliseum is home to USC, has hosted past events such as the 1984 Olympics, and was once the home of the Raiders. This event was one for the books as Rhyme Fest celebrated its 10th anniversary. For a decade, Rhyme Fest has been making history by bringing some of the best in underground hip-hop. This year’s fest was particularly meaningful, taking place in the heart of LA, with Minneapolis’ finest, Atmosphere, headlining the show.

Sean Daley and Anthony Davis, known as the Twin Cities duo Atmosphere, shut down Los Angeles as they headlined this year’s Rhyme Fest. Slug and Ant delivered a memorable performance, showcasing their notable classics. The duo also payed their respects to the late Chino XL, with an image that was painted by Enkone on stage.

Local Los Angeles natives, the Project Blowed collective, showed up and showed out, delivering an all-star freestyle cypher alongside the Visionaries. Even with 2Mex coming fresh out of surgery, they still rocked the spot. LA Symphony made their family reunion on stage, and Living Legends brought an energetic presence.

Making their way from the East Coast, Rhode Island’s own Sage Francis delivered a memorable performance, alongside Coney Island’s finest, Lil Dee, who was making his West Coast debut. Lil Dee has been holding it down since he was just 11 years old. Swollen Members also made their comeback after almost a decade since their last LA event.
