Aussie alt-rock powerhouses Among The Restless allow their listeners to revel in guilty pleasures and habitual cravings on their slow and sexy track ‘Lucy’ featuring on their debut EP. The Melbourne shredders carry a unique flavour of indie rock which marries the old school style of Soundgarden and 3 Doors Down and the new wave of akin to Slowly Slowly and Trophy Eyes. Swaying and echoing guitar riffs act as pair of seductive eyes glancing back, with verses sung gently to draw one in, only for the choruses’ aggressive guitar slides to enrapture yourself in giving into the temptation!

Lucy was the culmination of the band’s collaborative songwriting found all throughout the EP, touching on living with a disability, finding yourself after hardship and the self-discovery endured whilst pursuing dreams. There is a free flowing yet interesting variety of music, as most evident in Lucy, that can only be described as the band finding their sound.

The piece fits perfectly into the indie hard-rock band’s upcoming debut EP ‘Define’, serving as the perfect exchange of attitude from the five piece’s regular go-hard-or-go-home style delivery. The EP will see the boys embark on their first ever tour, showcasing this track and many others throughout the Australian south countryside.
