Drake has confirmed the completion of his sixth studio album, ‘Certified Lover Boy’, just a few weeks after revealing that the project was being mixed.
The Canadian rapper gave hosts OVO Mark and OVO Noel an update on his long-awaited sixth studio album while on Sound 42’s Fri Yiy Friday radio show on Friday, July 30, 2021. The Billboard artist of the decade said:
Album’s cooked! Looking forward to delivering it to you. I hope everybody in the world is blessed. I hope everybody has their drinks, everyone’s locked in. Good vibes and good energy for this weekend.
The rapper continued by firing shots at other artists who might be considering putting out a project during the same period Certified Lover Boy drops.
And for the rest of you heathens, I wanna tell you, cause I know you’re listening, ’cause you’re always free. Don’t trouble people’s kids, don’t bother people’s soul. Know what I’m saying? OVO, we aim for that head. We don’t aim to please. You see it. ‘Certified Lover Boy’ on the way. And that’s for anyone in the way.
One could easily think that Drake’s statement was meant for GOOD Music boss Kanye West, who is preparing to drop a new album in August, after previously holding a listening party for his upcoming album, ‘Donda’, at the Mercedes-Benz stadium in Atlanta. Unconfirmed rumors suggest that Drizzy may release his Certified Lover Boy album on the same day Yeezy releases his tenth studio album.
‘Certified Lover Boy’ has yet to be given an official release date, but Drizzy has stated that it will be released before the end of the Summer.
