Brooklyn-based indie pop artist Middle Part has been slowly picking up steam over the past few months with his 90’s influenced turn of the millennium indie pop sound with cathartic lyrics striking a chord with the larger public. His previous release, Heartbeat, focussed on the rollercoaster that being in your 20’s can be as navigating life becomes more and more stressful as the days go on and his upcoming debut EP I Wish I Was Alive is heavily driven by his personal experiences, his shortcomings, his struggle with depression, dissociation and overall loss.

His third single to be released from this EP is titled Busy that was inspired by early 2000’s artists like Michelle Branch and Natalie Imbruglia through the emotive lyrical display that details his own interpersonal relationships and ego death. It’s the most vulnerable he’s been to date with a stripped back production comprised of intimate acoustic guitar melodies and melancholy synths that allows the message of the piece to resonate further with all who listen to it.
