The new members of the Hall of Fame were revealed on Monday, August 16, 2021, and they will be formally inducted in a ceremony in 2022. The Country Music Association selects a panel of industry executives to elect new members to the Hall of Fame each year.

Ray Charles will be in the 2021 class alongside legendary drummer Eddie Bayers, pedal steel guitarist Pete Drake, and Grammy-winning duo the Judds.

When Charles released ‘Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music’ in 1962, he showed the commercial potential of Country music. The singer’s versions of Country classics became one of the era’s best-selling country albums.
