“MINE was really the first POLICE CAR COLLECTIVE song that ever existed,” the duo begin to explain. “It came out of a time when I was reading ‘Perks of Being a Wallflower’ everyday and I was trying to capture that feeling in a song. I think it captures what POLICE CAR COLLECTIVE was in that moment in time. I had just moved to England after graduating high school and was trying to figure out what I was doing with my life. So the song is a lot of reflecting on high school and friends I had and things like that.”

The poignant lyricisms, anthemic sound, evocative storytelling and drama all embody exactly what this book’s message is. It champions the underdog, it shows how people can blossom when you learn to accept who they are along with the hardships that they go through and how we cannot control what happens to us but we can control where go from there.
