Born and raised in New York City, the 16 year old musician Simone captures in vivid detail through her ability to weave a lyrical narrative the rough edges of modern relationships. Being reminiscent of Phoebe Bridgers and Taylor Swift during her Folklore era, the artist uses her songwriting as a form of therapy where she reflects upon her own mistakes, life and the transient nature of love. Speaking from her own experiences she guides people through the landscape of love, each exhilarating high followed by the crushing lows, she speaks to a young generation in a way no other artist can through her authentic candour.

Boy of My Dreams is an intimate number that takes away the emphatic nature of her usually buoyant pop sound and replaces it with an idyllic soundscape of lush guitar melodies, gentle drums and a celestial chorus backing her heavenly vocal. She pulls the curtain back on her own experiences and invites us in the bare witness to it all as her confessional lyrics let us know the journey she has been on to get to where she is now. A gloriously ethereal experience that shows how far she’s come since we last covered her. She’s got potential to make it big.

“Boy Of My Dreams” is a song I wrote after ending a relationship that really damaged my perception of love,” the artist begins to explain. “The song is a reflection on that experience as well as the opinions on love I had at the time: everyone settles, everything ends, and even the boy of my dreams could turn out to be a disappointment.”
