Future Funk producer and internet sensation Yung Bae debuts the first episode of his new ‘Groove Continental Radio’ show on Apple Music Hits this Saturday, June 12 at 7 PM LA/10 PM NYC. With his wildly creative and prolific output, including a brand new single ‘Wonder’ with Channel Tres, Yung Bae taps into the essence of Vaporwave and Future Funk for a whole new generation. On his weekly Apple Music Hits show, the Los Angeles-based artist celebrates the evolution of Funk and Disco by highlighting classic hits and lesser-known gems from over the decades—connecting them through the lens of his music, friends, and collaborators. Bae introduces listeners to different genres and themes in each episode, bringing a nonstop mid-century house party vibe that will have you busting a move past midnight.
Yung Bae says:
‘Groove Continental Radio’ is my way of taking a trip through time, spotlighting the evolution of funk and disco from over the decades and the role it’s played on influencing new genres of music, pop culture, and myself as an artist. We’re staging this as a mid-century flight the listener will embark on, showcasing an hour of music, ranging from old school cuts, Motown, obscure finds, new pop hits, rising talent and new releases from my upcoming album. I’ll also chat about a few of the songs played in each episode and what they mean to me. There will be some surprises too—I’ll be bringing on some of my heroes, album collaborators, and other guest appearances to chat with and share some of their favorite funk and disco songs, and what’s inspired them.
On the debut episode, Yung Bae embarks on his maiden voyage episode of ‘Groove Continental Radio’ with an hour mix featuring music by Bruno Mars, Kim Petras and Tove Lo. Plus, a guest appearance from UPSAHL to talk about their song ‘Woman On The Moon’ and the Studio 54 vibe that inspired it.
