Already having played at many festivals and receiving recognition from many big names in the industry, Melt have created their own unique sound in their music. The band, consisting of seven total members, paints a beautiful sonic picture with entrancing vocals and detailed instrumental sequences.
The band’s latest single Don’t Want Me showcases the entrancing vocals and detailed instrumentals that I talked about in the above paragraph. This colorful and swooning track reminds me of an old Western movie, where the main character sets out from home for the first, and last, time, leaving it all behind to start anew. Towards the middle of the song, Melt switches up the time signature and plays an upbeat jazz groove for a few measures before going back to the romanticized ballad that is rooted inside of this track.
