The nominees for the 2021 BET Awards have been announced. The Media outlet unveiled the list of nominees on May 27, via a series of posts on their Instagram.

American rappers DaBaby and Meg Thee Stallion lead the pack of contenders with seven nominations each. Meg Thee Stallion scored a nomination each in the Best Female Hip Hop Artist, Video of the Year and got a double nod in the Best Collaboration and Viewer’s Choice Award categories. On the other hand, DaBaby scored a nomination each in the Viewer’s Choice Award, Best Male Hip Hop Artist and Album of the Year categories. The North Carolina rapper was also nominated four times in the Best Collaboration Award category.

Billboard ‘Artist of the Decade’ award recipient Drake and Cardi B got five nominations each. Other top nominees include Beyoncé, Chris Brown, The Weeknd, and Pop Smoke.
