Dallas-native, rising star Harry Edohoukwa releases ‘ZOMBiES’ the first single off his forthcoming sophomore album. Nominated by the Austin Chronicle as one of this year’s ‘Must-See Artists’ at SXSW, the artist continues on his musical exploration with the release of the hauntingly dark but beautiful alt-R&B track ‘ZOMBiES’. The track sees Edohoukwa’s delicate vocal tone weave through a bed of eerie blues-leaning guitars before the chorus switch-up and enters with a full sound of distorted guitars, thumping drums and a vocal group chanting in agreement “Yeah Yeah!” to the narrator admitting that despite “every room (I) walk-in is mine” he’s still left “wiping blood from my face.” Directed by Peter Longno, the official music video for ‘ZOMBiES’ sees a monochromatic visual of Edohoukwa in rockstar form fighting off his demons behind him. The video attempts to capture “the double edge of being a rising star in the 21st century, evoking how the modern world isolates you even as it relentlessly pursues you.” 

Highly influenced by a range of genres from funk, R&B, rock and reggae, Edohoukwa has successfully found the formula in blending these genres to create his own unique sound and identity. To pigeon-hole him would be hard, but to try would present you with – if Childish Gambino and The Doors had a son that grew up in Jamaica, Harry Edohoukwa would be him.
