As far as debut singles go, CIB is beating off stiff competition to be labeled as one of the strongest of the year. Instantly opening with an infectious hook that builds to a grand climax that you’ll want to belt out word for word after just one listen, Viagra is a hard track to beat. The vocals are sublime, they channel this empowering spirit that screams ‘I don’t care what you think, this is me and I wouldn’t have it any other way’ whilst giving a middle finger to those who’ve wronged her in the past. That’s what this debut is all about, it’s taking past experiences where we’ve been walked all over like a doormat and slowly realise that’s not okay and we deserve to be treated like bloody royalty. This anthem encourages you to walk with your head held high with an array of roaring guitar riffs echoing throughout and booming drums pounding the message into your head so it never leaves your head. Include the tongue in cheek lyrics and autobiographical moments, “Left me outside in the cold by the back gate with an old American angler magazine,” and you’ll be hard pressed to find an anthem better than this today.
Cry, laugh, sing, dance, do whatever this rock solid debut makes you feel as you blast it out of your speakers. No doubt this will be labelled a stadium anthem in the not too distant future.
