Dababy has served us his version of Wizkid’s summer anthem, ‘Essence’.

North Carolina rapper DaBaby had his sights set on new music to present to his fans up until about a month ago.

The rapper claimed a new album was on the way, but that was all forgotten when he went on a homophobic diatribe directed at HIV-positive people during his set at the recent Rolling Loud festival in Miami. The North Carolina rapper has been embroiled in a number of controversies since then, and it continued with the release of his latest single.

However, DaBaby has delivered a remix of Wizkid and Tems’ summer hit, ‘Essence’. The rapper uses the song to respond to the recent backlash he received following his Rolling Loud Miami comments.
