Hannah Hill comes through again with her powerful vibrato vocal trademark, and delivers us yet another haunting and emotional dark-pop anthem.
Dog In Your Purse at its essence is about wanting to never leave the side of the girl she’s interested in. Although this person has shown nearly no reciprocation in their relationship, it only leaves Hill wanting more from her. In the end, this is an admission of defeat from the false hope she has been holding onto. The song is brought afloat by a reverb-lifted melody played on the piano, and is driven home by the intense 808’s that make it feel just a bit harder to breathe while taking in the message of the track.
This is the first single off of Hannah’s debut EP that is coming late Spring, and the prowess of emotion only leaves me wondering what other situations Hannah Hill is going to make us relive with what’s to come next.
