Vermont native Isabel Pless is back with a new single: the heartbreaking ballad “Spam Calls.” The track speaks to the ever-so-relatable feeling of being hung up on a previous relationship. As a fan of Isabel’s previous work, I’ve grown very fond of the way she encapsulates her innermost thoughts to share with the world through her music. “Spam Calls” ensures listeners that Isabel, too, has longed for someone after an abrupt breakup.

Isabel sings “at the end of it all, I’m still answering spam calls just in case it’s your voice saying my name;” a more unique lyrical take on that one thing we all have done, (though we may not want to admit it): checking our phones repeatedly for a message from that one person. Her tone is absolutely stunning and I love how the instrumental supports her and allows the clarity of her voice to shine through. This track is something special.

If you’re looking for a new track to ugly cry to post break-up, this is the one for you. Given that Isabel is now based in Nashville, I’m especially sure that she is preparing to release more gorgeous tunes this year. Isabel Pless is one to watch, so don’t miss out.
