In February, Nas dropped the Hit-Boy produced track ‘EPMD’ on the ‘Judas & The Black Messiah’ soundtrack. On April 1, they followed up with an aesthetically pleasing visual to kick off the Spring. Nas & Hit-Boy rock matching rust colored suits and B-boy fits as they rap and vibe out at an impressive mansion. Stylistically, it’s done beautifully, but filled with many rapper clichés. You get the pretty girls, Hennessey and nice cars, but it’s nothing out of the usual for Nas. You would think there would be more of a narrative for this song, especially with it being on a soundtrack for such an important film.
Leadin’ like Huey Newton did
Nigga, that’s how official the revolution is
Feds holdin’ cameras up and they zoomin’ in
Don’t be surprised when niggas show you they true intent
Ruthless, they’ll tie up your wife and kids
While you talkin’ on Clubhouse, the guns out
