Tramp Stamps‘ debut Sex With Me was an explosion of raw unadulterated animosity that thrusted the angst filled ferocity of the punk movement into the modern era with bombastic guitars, raw vocals and anthemic hooks that you can just see a stadium of people belting straight back at them without missing a beat. I fully expect their follow up single to be very much the same, instead however they go for a more sensitive sound that is like an early 2000’s Avril Lavigne nostalgia filled ballad, heck it even has a skater boy reference with the lyrics, “Just a Tumblr girl/And a skater boy/Taking on the world/Stuck in Illinois.”

1-800-miss-ur-guts takes you on a journey as you follow this couple throughout their high school experience, kissing under the bleachers, ditching class together and having all the joys that puppy love can bring… and then the chorus comes along which changes it all. You go from sweet nostalgic memories to the pain a break up can bring, how you struggle to move on because you haven’t felt happy since they left and the only thing you know how to do is belt out break up songs to help the pain disappear. This will undoubtably soundtrack many high school break ups to come and demonstrates how Tramp Stamps are a band with many layers to their expressive sonic identity, definitely one to keep an eye on.
